Humans and pleasure

Well I’m up a bit earlier than usual today. Perhaps its the positive effects of exercise as I have always found that when I exercise, I sleep better and my whole body just seems to function more efficiently, let me know if you have similar experiecnes.

I was doing some thinking this morning about ways in which we as humans derive pleasure. Some thoughts came to mind. We can derive pleasure by interacting with the wonderful things that nature provides for us in the environment: the sound of the birds chirping early in the morning, the calming effect of the seabreeze at the beach, the sound of waves breaking at the seaside or water flowing in a stream, these are just a few that come to mind. Just think about what a good vacation that allows one to interact positively with nature, can do reduce your stress level.

It also came to mind that humans derive physical pleasure by releasing substances (solid, liquid or gas) or putting body parts into small body orifices. You may think I have a warped mind, but its quite true.

It can also be quite pleasant to share quality time with friends while sipping your favourite beverage (Appleton VX & Pepsi for me).

I am not sure what got me thinking about this but I felt like sharing it. I remember in my High School days I used to have a teacher (who I will not name), that used to chastize us verbally and refer to us a ‘bunch of pleasure seekers’. What was so wrong ’till this day I can’t comprehend. Mad Bull will know which teacher I’m referring to. I personally feel that without pleasure, life would be rather boring and I guess that the Great Almighty must have realised this in His plan when He created us. So, whatever you do today, do it well and hopefully it will provide you with a pleasant experience while your’e at it. Later.

Nice thoughts, Dr. D. This is your best post yet, in my humble opinion. Makes one think, know what I mean. I am going to try to follow your example re the exercise… Later, yute!

Good morning Dr. D. - I see the daily topic was chosen while outside communing with nature! Had a chat with the birds and the bees did we? Good for you. Over here in the US, we have lots of birds and squirrels too and you hear them in the trees and wherever else moving and screeching (at the loss of a better descriptive) trying to obtain food and just fenerally being busy, and the birds are always in the grass and trees eating scrubs and worms, and I don’t wish to imagine whatever else! It is a great pleasure to see them though! I, of course and you know this already am a cat and dog fancier, not sure which is the more loved and tropical fish, too to a much lesser extent……our dogs at home are proof of our love for dogs and the cat I had for over 13 years was also proof of my cat adoration. I do quite a bit of reading (nothing new to you and/or Marc Antony), I also love to play Scrabble (especially with you - good adversary), as well as, Chess, Crossword Puzzles and Jigsaw puzzles - all these great pastimes you know that I love - usually very quiet hobbies. I should say that since my marriage to Marc Antony, I have now taken up needlepoint and embroidery and am considering candlewicking - wish me luck! Well glad to see that your exercises have brought out (so it seems) only the very best in you and more to come! We all can’t wait to see and hear the NEW you. Go deh Dr. D!!!! We are all rooting for you. I should tell you that in support of your exercise and new way of life, we are all here doing the same and looking out for one another. Enjoy the rest of your day and work hard as usual!

Pleasure is always good. I always enjoy a pleasurable moment, and this morning was not too bad. However pleasure for me is hearing the sound of politics, seeing the glorious times yet to come…when I will be at the head of the most powerful office in the land we so love. Pleasure to me may not be pleasure to another person as it’s people who perceive what pleasure is, and though many people may have ideas that coincide there still exist various ideas….alas I say pleasure is what you want in life…therefore if your pleasure is to jump in the air and clap your hans so be it, but for me it is the lust of politics that brings me to orgasm..oops did I say that?

Dearest Dr. D - it seems as if you may have to install some kind of blocking device to bar rude and impertinent comments about me; I am referring to the feisty remark Mad Bull made on my intellegence - as if were it not for my marriage to Marc Antony I’d not have known the word endorphins - as if, well I guess it’s a big word for him! He is certainly out of order! I think deep down it is jealousy though - yes I said it! I am not afraid to nip these things in the bud right away! Jealousy! He is jealous of my intellegence - this is not a first for me all the same, there have been many jealous ones before and there will be many more jealous ones to come, so Mad Bull….join the line ok! Just jiving my big friend! -) But please desist from hitting below the belt ok or I’ll have to take drastic action! Yes, that’s a threat in case you didn’t recognise it! I’ll have to make a ‘report’ to Natty! That should put the fear of God in you -) Remember Mad Bull, all is fair in love and war! Well Dr. D, I see you’ve not yet updated the blog, so I’ll wait ’til later and post another very necessary comment. ‘Til later take care.

Well, I see I created waves today. Pleasure is claerly a very important thing to all commentators. Thank you all for the comments. Mr. Chosen, if becoming Prime Minister is what gets you orgasmic, then go for it dude. We yearn for some good leadership in this country. Mad Bull. i agree, I think this is my best so far. can’t say where it came from, but will try to maintain the standard or improve on same. Just keep hangin’ with me and it wil rub off -) Again big up to you for setting up the site. We need to look at some graphics soon. Rufie, my love, you will soon need a blog with these epistles, thanks for the warm encoragement, I know I can always count on my dear little sister. Natty, I see i’ve made amends with you after ‘arriving’ post graduation from medical school. Look out for more comments from you.
