Long day.

Yesterday was a fairly long day for me. It started early with the glorious football match between Brazil and Turkey. Well, Ronaldo again did his country proud and scored just minutes into the second half. I must say that Brazil took a while to get into the game as they seemed to lack their usual flare in the first 20 minutes or so. Anyhow, it’s not flare that wins matches, it’s goals. They have made it to the finals and will be playing against the beer drinking Germans. I don’t have to remind you who my team to win is.

I got home in the evening after a pretty hectic day at work. Hell, it sems to be Murphy’s law, when the staffing is low, that’s when the patient load seems to be high, perhaps some sort of inverse relationship. Anyway, I plodded along and eventually cleared the load.

My boss made my day yesterday when she told me that I had obviously lost weight and how decent I was looking in my pants! Oh, she could have got me to do anything she wanted yesterday. Now, I know I’ve been reducing as I have changed my eating habits and I have been working on my abdominals. I can feel the difference in the waist of my pants, but it is always nice for someone else to comment and boost one’s confidence level. I’ll definitely keep it up.

After coming home form work, I had a meeting to attend which took up most of the night. It was at a friend’s new home, very nice place indeed. The VX flowed abundantly, so I feel a little bit woozy this morning, but I’ll survive. I got home at about midnight, feeling irie (good), hence no blog posting occurred.

Bad news for Jamaican football this morning. I see that Theodore Whitmore, one of our national players, has been charged with manslaughter for the death of ‘Shorty’ Malcolm. He died in a car accident last year after the two were driving home in Whitmore’s car after a World Cup qualifier. Malcolm was one our players also. Sad news indeed.

Yesterday, we were hit by the news of the suspicious death of ‘Safa’, a Jamaican psychic. Now, I had always considered him to be a fraud, but regardless of this, it does not make it acceptable for him to have been removed from life as we know it in this manner. I hope they will get to the bottom of it and find those responsible quickly.

Well my bredren Mad Bull has finally posted those excellent Lime Cay photos. If you’re interested, check out my yute Mad Bull.

Dr D it seems that just as things are getting better, they worsen. I was feeling in a much better mood, almost 100% myself again (trying to forget the bad deed) and then I read your blog…so many unneccessary deaths and murders. It is so sad sometimes and I really get upset when I think about it and when I see it on the news constantly. Goodness, life in general can be such a bitch sometimes; you try to live a good life and not bother anyone and then you just die of some disease or if not you get hit by a bus or killed by a drive-by shooting…..I mean, sometimes it seems that it’s better if you weren’t born at all. I’m sure it all sounds so morbid, but no matter what you do, you can’t change destiny. I know that everyone has to die sometime, but at times it just seems so unfair. Daddy always says, ‘the road to hell is paved with good intentions,’ when I was a lot younger I didn’t understand it, but for a long time now, I have. Just wish I could get some really good news for a while you know. Something lasting and meaningful.

Hey, Glad to hear that the efforts(diet and exercise) are paying off. Sorry we didn’t see pics of you on the lovely “Lime Cay”. Nice, nice shots. Reminds me of the beautiful Sun and Sea I’m missing. I agree that Brasil was a bit out of sorts in the match on Wed(first match I’ve seen all season really). They weren’t too convincing to me actually. I hope they pull it together for the big game against Germany. They will need lots more purpose to beat a team that’s got it all together(mind you I have yet to see the Germans play this year). Hope you recover from the hectic schedule and the VX.

Baje doc, yes, Mad Bull really deserves congratulations for his excellent photographic work. Neither of us were in the photos as the people we saw at Lime Cay were far better subjects to be snapped. As for the work…. let’s just say TGIF. Recovery from VX is never a problem for me. Lot’s of water before bed, 2 Panadols and sleep!

Hey Rufie, I know how you feel… Been there, done that, know what I mean? -) Anyway, every dark cloud has a silver lining, so look out for yours.

Bwoy, I really feel sorry for Tappa (Theodore Whitmore) and yet, if he was wrong, well, he must pay… I mean, what if it were my brother or sister whose death he caused. It is very troubling.

Mad Bull thanks for the nice thoughts, I really appreciate that!
