Wait! Bruce deh bout!

The headlines in the Gleaner this morning, I am sure have the nation taken aback. Bruce Golding after leaving the opposition JLP some seven years back because of differences between himself and party leader Edward Seaga, has rejoined the fold! Now, this man was viewed as the person that the JLP needed to get its act together, and many felt that he should actually be the one to take over the leadership of the party. Also, many feel that he has what it takes to be the next PM. However, that was then.

Having been out of the JLP for this period, I cannot be sure that his rejoining it, a mere three weeks before E Day, will indeed make any difference to the outcome of the election. But, then again, politics, lke life, can be quite unpredictable. I see where the party plans to adopt a US presidential style of government, if they were to be put back into power (that may not be anything to boast about, however, I don’t know that Bush is anybody to emulate). Anyway, I guess the party needed something to boost its camapign. Whether or not this move will really change the outcome of this election, is left to be seen. I personally hope it does, and want to give Bruce a serious BIG UP!!! May the differences that he and Eddie had before, be put behind them in the hope that some sort of progress can be made for Jamaica land we love, seen!

Lastly, I see that if the forecasters are correct, we may start to have relapses in the weather by tomorrow, as Tropical Storm Lili may pass fairly near to the eastern side of our island by tomorrow. That may just screw up weekend plans, but, a so life go still. Let’s just hope that no damage will result if she does indeed come our way. Walk good and have a irie day at work. Vibes.

Hello Dr. D Dropping you a little note regarding the personal comment you left for me in Blue Wolf’s journal [i.e.: 09.23.02]. -) I agree & disagree with you, because I do believe compassion is a learned virtue - I’m no doctor, I did study nursing however, and one of the things that was drummed into our heads over & again was compassion for patients & their families … maybe it was just the school I attended. Where I agree with you is, yes, a doctor, much of what they need to learn IS revealed when they start a practice. I hope my comment that day back in ‘96 stuck with that particuliar doc & he’s learned to be slightly more feeling with families when delivering hard news. Warm regards & hugs Diz

Actually, many view the return of the Bruce as a sign of the JLP’s desperation, and also calls into question whether we can believe anything he (Bruce) says. I hope his return doesn’t “backfire” by hurting rather than enhancing the view of the party.

I know this Mad Bull. The party really does look ‘impotent’ for want of a better word (Eddie can’t be suffering from too much of this despite his age, hey, de man wife jus have a baby). I suppose we will just wait and see. Bruce is a man who seems to change like a chameleon.
