Spared!
Well, thank God for being merciful. It seems we have been spared the wrath of another tropical storm. Lili seems to have taken a northerly turn and avoided us this morning. It is now headed for Cuba. Hope they won’t suffer too much damage. In all honesty, last night and into the wee hours of this morning we were having heavy rains with lightening and thunder and occasional gusts of wind. But since about 11 this morning, there has been no further rain or breeze, but the skies remain cloudy. I can live with that, hell, I lived in England for a year.
So it has been a relatively quiet Saturday, but, sometimes life is like that. Tonight, I am going to have some Chinese food with friends and that is something to look forward to. I suppose that though this post is not really anything to rave about, I much prefer posting about the retreat of Lily, rather than having to update you all about the devastation that she caused. I guess my cousin Miss P. was right, the males are more menacing! Respec due to the ladies! Maybe we can make a suggestion to the the National Hurricane Centre, to start giving all tropical storms female names. Who knows, it may solve a lot of problems in the future! Have great Saturday night, whatever you do!
September 29th, 2002 at 9:30 am Glad for being spared Dr D…plenty prayers went up for Ja I’m sure - good news is always welcomed.
September 29th, 2002 at 11:07 am Actually Rufie, since about midnight it has been raining heavily again. Seems that Kingston has been spared the worst. The north coast seems to be taking quite a beating and we are really having HEAVY rains since this morning. Anyway, I am still dry. Thanks for your concerns.
September 29th, 2002 at 11:52 am Yeah, lots of rain. It really doesn’t seem bad when you’re indoors, you could actually love it. My problem is, once the rains are done and the water has run off, we’ll have to face the devastation done to our roads

September 29th, 2002 at 3:23 pm Dr D better to be a pothole dodger than a pothole dropper…don’t you think so?
