Senseless!!
I read this article today and it made me realize that it is not only here in Jamaica that we have the senseless loss of precious human lives taking place. I really am not one to fight people for their religious convictions as none of us really knows which is the right religion. But, something seems pretty amiss with a lot of the beliefs that some worshippers of Islam practice. To think that at least 50 have been killed on account of the Miss World beauty contest. 
Right now, because of all the controversy that has been following this one, if I were one of the organizers, I would suggest that we cancel it this year. After all, will we really miss not having a Miss World for a year???

November 22nd, 2002 at 1:53 am NO “beauty” contest or olympics or ANYTHING excuses loss of innocent lives………….this is deploriable *however you spell it*. There are causes that I will fight for, but NEVER give my life for, I have too much to live for, as does any OTHER human being in ANY country!!!! The ONLY thing I’d give my life for are my children and as much tormoril the US, well for that matter the WORLD, is going through, I’d not give up my life for a “cause” as I have two wonderful babies “I” feel I am placed on this earth to protect…………..beauty or not………
November 22nd, 2002 at 6:09 pm Ok. Here is my opinion. Religious laws are superceded by the laws of the nation. The nation is made up of many religions, and none of them is more important than the other. It is full time for these Muslim extremists to understand that they have to learn to live with others. The Miss World must go on. The Nigerian government must crack down on the Muslims. Whatever it takes, it must be done. This is not a time for wimpiness. Give them an inch and they will try to take it all.
I say give them a day to stop all the fighting and turn over those who have been killing Christians, or turn out the Army, capture their religious leaders and charge them with the crimes, and punish them to the full extent of the law. Next, outlaw Sharia law. Make the practitioners of such laws subject to death by stoning. Next, remove from them all rights to govern themselves. I’d say stop there, until they make it necessary to crack down on them again.
