Damn shame indeed!

Well, this morning I did not get to read the Gleaner as there is this menace of a puppy that keeps coming over to the house from one of the neighbours that I don’t even know, and shredding the paper to pieces! If I catch the little mutt of a mongrel, things might not be too pretty.

So, having had no paper to peruse while having my tea this morning, I am only just now looking at the Gleaner on-line. This article made me so annoyed. Can you imagine that some of the people who attended the recently held Boys and Girls Champs destroyed seats and were defacing the Stadium?? Is there no sense of National Pride in these vandals? It is a pity they were not caught in the act and given a befitting fine or punishment. PJ, our Prime Minister is by no means a favourite of mine, but I have to agree with his stance on this one. Rass bwoy, will our nation ever make any progress?

Pity the poor dog doc, its probably lonely and neglected, so please try not to waste it because of the mess it creates. The owners are the ones who are guilty here. Of course, this being Jamaica, it might not be such a good idea to confront them about the problem. The vandalism of the stadium is reflective of the decay of any sense of responsible behaviour in Jamaica. There is no excuse for such anti-social action, but what does our Prime minister expects when he acts like a vandal as well, in terms of how hard he works at destroying all that’s good about Jamaica. I would also be lead to think that people will only have the opportunity to vandalize public places where there is inadequate security, so the organizers of the local athletic championship may have to consider reviewing that aspect of their planning.

I used to have a tom cat who would shred all my junk mail for me. He’d roll onto his back, grab the junkmail with his front paws and kick and bite it, until it was all mangled! He was cute. That’s terrible about the stadium, I hate when I hear about stuff like that. It seems there’s a certain type of person who is always destroying what someone else worked hard to build. Unfortunately, they also tend to be more noticeable than the good people.
