For Sixty-Five
Hi Y’all,
I have written a poem and I would like any constructive criticism for anyone who wishes to. Please be honest and not try not to hurt my feelings.
For Sixty-Five
We sit and we think
Of the time that we shared
Our joy and our laughter
Sadness and tears.
You helped give us life,
You nourished and cared
Your love now surrounds us
Through all of our fears.
The candles you lit
In your efforts to give
Your encouragement and strength
To the ones who now live.
Our hearts overflow
As we feel your presence near
Your arms ever enfolding
Lifting us to God’s care.
Your time with us seemed short
But you lived every moment
Smiling and comforting
Those who were caught
In life’s many, tumultuteous spheres.
We’ll love you forever
And keep your strength close
As we make our way
Through this world’s ebbs and flows.
As the sun shines down on us
On warm sunny days
Giving us hope with it’s happy glaze.
We’ll sit and we’ll think
Of the times that we shared
Our joys and our laughter
Even through the mists of our tears.
