All I Have is One Word, One Life…

I was surfing. I went to Da Goddess‘ blog, and I came across an interesting link. It was to One Word, a site that hosts an interesting little pastime. They give you one word. As soon as you get that word, the clock starts ticking. You are given 60 seconds to write whatever comes to your mind about the word you’ve been given.

I decided to let a friend of mine play the game. He was given the word “guard”, and this is what he wrote…

“a guard is someone who guards a place. he sometimes sleeps on his job and masterbates. I dont feel like playing this stupid game. Why am i sitting here. I was fo

As you can tell, he wasn’t really into it, but when he was finished, he started to read what other people who had played the game had written, and he became interested.

He pointed out after that of the things he read, about 10 percent were like him, they just “didn’t have a clue”. There was another 50 percent who just made up some little story which involved the word “guard”, while the remaining 40% were writing about guarding their emotions. He theorised that the people in the “guarding emotions” groups were troubled emotionally, sufficiently so that they associated the word guard with their hurt emotions and wrote about that. He felt that the people in the larger group who wrote stories were feeling OK emotionally and so they wrote something else… He felt that it’d make a neat psychology test!

What do you think?

I don’t know that I agree with all his conclusions, but I did agree that what they wrote was quite interesting… I also think that you’d find it interesting, so maybe you all should go and give it a whirl.

By the way, check this link out… Press the Teddy’s tummy, you’ll hear how I felt when I realised that those mofo auditors screwed me over the other day! Ohh, and while you’re at it, run your mouse over the “Click here for more funny games and e-cards” banner. Its a laugh!
