It Hot Nuh Backside
Let me tell you, it is SO HOT here! I just went to the place we rent DVDs from to return “Tarzan” (it was rented for my kid, honest). I stepped in from the oppressive heat outside, and I approached the counter and handed in the DVD. A couple of seconds after that, I noticed that I was enveloped in the most delicious cool-th… Awesome! I think they must turn the A-C (air) up higher than most people, because the difference in the temperature inside was SO striking!
It felt so good that I had to comment on it. “Wow, in here is so cool! I think I’m going to stay in here all day!” I said. The third person behind the counter replied “Its true. I came here at 11:00AM to drop him here, and I’ve been here ever since!”. He indicated one of the regular workers behind the counter as he said this.
I wish we could all afford to run our A-Cs like that, but as we say here, “tings ruff, Iyah!”. I guess we’ll just have to sit and swelter in the hot Jamaican sunshine and heat.
Anyway, me gone. The Reggae Boys are playing a Brazillian “pick-up” side at the National Stadium today and they have just started the pre-game show on TV. Later, zeen?
July 28th, 2003 at 8:34 am I cant believe the Reggae Boyz won !
July 28th, 2003 at 9:13 pm Well, they won but the performance (or lack of it) was nothing to write home about. If you ask me, it was a dismal show for the Boyz! Dem dash weh at least four goal. The Brazilians played with nine men for the greater part of the second half an our side couldn’t come up with anything better than what they did. Salt nuh rass! I’m glad I didn’t spend my money to go….(worse how dem did show it live pon TV…which they don’t usually do.)
July 28th, 2003 at 9:16 pm As for the many fouls made by the Brazilians and the ruffian behaviour of their technical director…..shame on them.
July 28th, 2003 at 11:37 pm Well Doc, I couldn’t agree with you more, on both points. A poor show indeed for the BoyZ and even more so for the Brazillians!
July 30th, 2003 at 1:31 pm Sorry I can’t comment on the Reggae Boys’ win or play. However, as much as I usually can not stand oppressive heat either. We have had such a disappointing summer here in Good ole Canada that some of the heat would be welcome - just not the oppressive kind
