Star Wars

Is it just me, or are things in this neck of the universe getting scary. As is my normal morning routine, I had my first cup of coffee this morning sitting at the Bloomberg terminal in my office. My boss thinks I go there to study what the markets did the previous day, but I actually read world news and study international sport results….but that’s just our secret…..right?

Anyway, the report that caught my eye this morning was one about “2003 QQ47″ an asteroid that has the potential of striking the earth in 2014. Now as I said in an earlier post, I’m not a star gazer or astrologer, but it seems to me that lately a lot of things have been taking pot shots at good old mother earth. The drive-by we got from Mars a week ago is one example and I came across this one during my ‘market study’ this morning.

Seems to me that we shouldn’t take it for granted anymore that we won’t get hit. Hell, there is even a theory offered that the extinction of dinosaurs was the result of a colossal asteroid strike. So now as if I didn’t have enough to worry about, what with nuclear annihilation, US world dominance and the over fishing of my favourite fishing hole, now I have to contend with runaway asteroids?

What a stress!

Whew! That was a close pass, wasn’t it? I saw two movies about this same sort of scenario and it was pretty damned frightening! Maybe thats what Revelations is all about?!? Who knows. Anyway, don’t worry about it too much… Eat, drink and be merry, because tomorrow we may die.

Ditto what Mad Bull said. Really makes no sense worrying about if we are going to get a major strike, because if it a come my yute, not a rass we can really do, can we? Next ting you know the insurers start to sell asteroid premiums! Who de hell going reap de benefit when the policy matures and whole planet has been pulverised to stardust!? Drink some VX, smoke two cigar, and do your part here on the planet for the short time that we pass here. Seen!

I have to agree with MB and Dr. D. because there is nothing that we can do about this kind of disaster. Let’s face facts, there is little we can do about hurricanes or toradoes or earthquakes either except tell people to expect them. Also, these star-gazers are really only “forecasting” that the asteroid will hit us, and we all know how good humans are at forecasting the weather much less.

Thanks for knocking me out of that ‘doomsday’ moment guys…….I’m back now……Phew! that was close…..I almost started crying in my VX….but I’m okay now…..really!!!!!!

In that case dssdoc, let’s say the VX worked then! The least you can say is that it blew your mind!
