All the best!

Posted in General on December 31st, 2003 by Dr. D

No long entry this morn. I have a few emotional feelings whenever the year is about to change, but I won’t bother to get into that. It will pass.

All the very best to my family, bredrens and fellow bloggers for the upcoming year!!

(P.S. If you party hearty tonight…take it easy on the booze, I want to have you all around for ‘04.)

Goodbye to the old and welcome to the new!

Hi guys,

here’s another one of my poems, just recently written on Saturday nite.

PASSION

His fingers flit gently
against the nape of my neck
His breath, oh so sweetly
caresses my ear
Shivers run rampant
through to my soul.

The length of his body
floats against mine
The touch of our lips
strokes at the flames
This searing heat
lifts me on high

Into the depths,
the known, yet unknown

Our joint flight now over
but for the moment
Our passions are spent
Our legs lie entwined

In the twilight of heat
of shivers,
of passion,
Our bodies rest near
within the warmth,
the tenderness
That now we behold!

Popsy says it’s pornographic! I don’t think so, my poem has CLASS!!
Maybe, the porn he is talking about has class too.

Any comments are welcome.

Haphazard thoughts……

Posted in General on December 29th, 2003 by Dr. D

Things have been fairly quiet on the blogging scene over the holidays. That’s not surprising to me as everyone including myself seems to have spent the holidays with family and friends. I just hopped over to Buffy and read an entry she made. She commented about the volume of food that was consumed by her family over the season. I thought to myself that it seems like its a common feature whichever country you are in when you celebrate Christmas. Can you imagine a Christmas dinner without the spread?? Certainly not in this house.

As I’m on the topic of food, let me share a little joke. I was chatting with one of my bredrens a few days before Christmas. I asked him whare he was going for Christmas dinner. Actually he said he was unsure. Now what I need to tell you is that he is not exactly a favourite of his Father-in-Law, and the feeeling is quite mutual. So, I said to him, “Well, I suppose you will not be having dinner with your Father-in-Law.” He replied, “Damn right bout dat. Before me eat at him yard, I woulda prefer go buy suppem at blood cleat Burger King!” Having said that, I told him that he was welcome to come up by me.

I suppose you all can surmise that once the jubilation is behind us that I will need to put the thought of food out my mind and shed some weight by getting back into an exercise programme. I won’t bother to call it a New Year’s resolution…..(I’m sure if you were to check my archives I said that I wanted to lose weight near the end of 2002! Man does history repeat itself.) If I said that I lost weight this year you probably would say that me unda the influence of nuff nuff VX!

Anyway, despite the fact that many people I know seemed to have a nice time over the season….albeit mostly family and bredren type affairs (nutten wrong wid dat stilll), there were unfortunate happenings. The one that really hit me was the Iran earthquake. 30,000 people is a hell of a loss. I feel for them. Hope they will be able to rebuild, but the human loss is tremendous.

This likke article blew me away….(for want of a better expression)….. I know that people can fall in love and go to great extremes in order to try to win the affection of a mate, but trust me, this man is crazy! I wonder how he would have felt if his friend had misssed the ‘target’ and ended up shooting off his family jewels??? So much for the future of the physical expression of the love!

Last night I sort of decided to unwind before returning to the walls of the hospital today. I watched (or more like stumbled upon….as I missed the first few minutes) a movie on STARZ which I found very good. Dragonfly with Kevin Costner. If you haven’t seen it, I recommend it. I won’t go into details as I hate to watch a show and then go relating the whole story to a potential viewer……that just screws it up for them…nuh true?

Anyhow, that’s about it from me now. In case you don’t come back before the year changes, all the best to you and yours for 2004!

Session vibes…….

Posted in General on December 28th, 2003 by Dr. D

Well, I went to the session. However, I must tell you that I got lost to rass finding it. The directions that I was given to get there did not help me much at all. As a matter of fact, I ended up in some parts of Red Hills that I never knew existed….not that I know that area very well anyway. So, realizing that I was lost, I had to get on the cell which wasn’t performing too well up deh either….I kept getting cut off. Eventually I linked a bredren Twin Batty who was already there on the cell, but his directions weren’t great either. Then I had no service on the phone, so I continued driving……ended up on a road that looked pretty desolate….saw a taxi man parked in his car on the side of the road….as this road had no street lights, I had on my brights, the taxi man wasn’t too happy bout dat still as de bredren was obviously doing some work, if you get the drift! At the same time, I thought a Taxi man should know where this place was, but I don’t think he would have appreciated my checking him for directions while his ‘meter was running’ so to speak! So I turned around and getting quite frustrated after driving for over thirty minutes in dark lonely country, suddenly I get back into an area where there is cell service. I call again, cussing nuff claat I tell them that I am ready to go right back home, eventually they decide they will meet me at a point. Can you believe I was less than a minute away from the location? Anyway, so much for that. Jamaicans are known to build their homes in some very unusual places.

So, I reach the session and greet a few friends. Seems that I don’t know most of the crowd and I end up hanging with Twin Batty and his wife for most of the night. Met another couple and a yute and the chat got around to what is happening on the nightlife scene in Kingston……..

Christmas vibes…

Posted in General on December 27th, 2003 by Dr. D

Well, as I have said before, as much as I like the Christmas season, it seems to be over so quickly when one thinks of the amount of effort that goes into it. We had a nice dinner here with family and friends…about fifteen people. Then later in the night, others dropped by for drinks. After most of the others had left, I was having some drinks (there were quite a few of those I might add) with my two bredrens, and then it being almost midnight, the hunger hit. So essentially they decided that they needed to prove that they are both ham demons and they almost devoured what was left of it…..trus me, right now if I want to make a ham sandwich I am going to be carving close to bone! Never mind, all who had it, enjoyed it, its the camraderie that counts. BTW, if you think all we had for Christmas dinner was ham, you need to read further……..

Merry Christmas!

Posted in General on December 24th, 2003 by Dr. D

Well, it is the morning of Christmas Eve. I woke up a bit earlier than usual this morn, lay in the bed with my arms behind my head thinking and listening for a while. The air coming in through the window is cool, birds are chirping away and the house has a tranquil quiet to it. Something that is usually present is absent…I don’t hear the hum of car engines racing down the road which runs parallel to mine in order to beat traffic….school is on holidays. Boy do I remember those days.

I get up, hit the throne and then open the room door to go to the kitchen to get the kettle going. I am greeted by the aroma of the ham that was baked last night. It taste good you see!

Going in to work shortly, I must not forget the bag with gifts to give co-workers….all female I might add. The only male got a card….and him don’t drink, so you done know. Should not be a long day today. So after we do what needs to be done with the patients, I’m basically in Christmas mode. Don’t ask me to pass the shopping plazas today, that is a definite off limits for me. Can’t tek de stress with the traffic and lack of parking spaces. Reminds me of some years back when I was dropping my helper home one Christams Eve and she wanted to get something at the supermarket, so I braved the traffic in Manor park. While waiting to get somewhere to park, I saw an argument developing between two men waiting on a parking space. It got so out of hand that I saw one pull for a firearm! At that time I said to my helper, that whatever she needed could wait…..me nuh waaan nuh stray bullet ketch me! Trus me, I love the season, but some people seem to lose it all…..I don’t know why…too much liquor??? Anybody have a logical explanation to this?

Anyway, without rambling along for much longer, let me wish for all who come here, a very Merry Christmas and all that is good for 2004. For those who have visited the site over the year and filled the comment box, thank you and keep it up. Have a irie Christmas.

The large red one……

Posted in General on December 22nd, 2003 by Dr. D

Yes bredrens. I am in a pretty irie rude bwoy mood. Probably because I am home from work early and so, I have a likkle joke to share wit’ y’all.

An Essex girl went into a pharmacy looking for a dildo.
She saw a young man behind the counter and told him that she was looking for a vibrator.
He replied, “Oh, we have several, you can make your selection from any that you see on the wall behind me.”
She looked for a few seconds and made her choice quickly….”I’ll have that large red one.”
The man looked behind him and said, “Oh, sorry, that one’s a fire extinguisher!”

Have a good evening all. (BTW, for those of you who don’t know what an Essex girl is, ask billy .)

The Original P.I.M.P

Posted in Funny on December 22nd, 2003 by Seven

Lemme tell you a story about a pretty funny night out. Back in the summer time, a group of us here in Ft. Lauderdale, FL were partying pretty hard each weekend. One Friday night, we were invited to a club called Santiago’s in Pembroke Pines for a birthday bash for one of the promoters.

Santiago’s is a Latin restaurant until Friday nights, when a group of Jamaican promoters put on a Jamaican party night. Lots of good Jamaican music, they have a pan chicken man outside - its a nice little vibe, still!

Anyway, this particular night we went to celebrate T-Man’s 42′nd birthday and the place was hopping as always. We were all drinking and partying and having a great old time. As the night went on, the crowd started to thin out a bit, but we were still hangin’. Midas (my hubby) and his buddy the Scotsman were sitting with one of the promoters while I stood at the bar chatting, and all of a sudden, I turned around to them to see this hot little Latin girl dancing on the bench beside them.

The suggestiveness of her moves increased as she went on, and the next thing I knew, she stepped in front of Mr. Cashmoney (the promoter) and began dancing - or as we say in Jamaica - wining - in front of him. Now get this picture - Mr. Cashmoney was sitting on the bench - she was standing in front of him, facing him, and wining in his face! Needless to say, she was drawing quite a crowd, as every man in the joint gathered around to watch Mr. Cashmoney get this surprise gift!

I initially decided that she must have been as high as the sky or something! Mr. Cashmoney wasn’t complaining, however! Anyway, as she went on and got more and more into it, I had a sudden brainwave. Here was this girl dancing away, having the time of her life by all appearances - what a great money-making opportunity. I started to charge the onlooking men $1 for a lap dance with my newest ‘talent’. Mr. Cashmoney gave me a dollar bill to start my kitty and away I went through the crowd of glazed-eyed men yelling “A dollar a dance!”

Soon enough, Midas, who had been sitting beside Mr. Cashmoney the entire time asked if he could pay for a lap dance. Being a fairly liberal-minded wife (read somewhat tipsy), I said “For you to get a lap dance, its $20!” He said okay and checked his cash - he only had a c-note ($100) so I said “No problem, I’ll go get change!” As he handed me the c-note, I pocketed it quickly and called to the talent act -her name was Lisa I later learned - “Dance with the man!”

So Midas got a lap dance (under my watchful eye, of course), his friend the Scotsman got a lapdance and a couple other guys there. Lisa was pretty cool - I later realised she probably really was a stripper though we’re still not sure (she says she does telemarketing!) She was pretty tipsy herself and just decided to spice up the party. For whatever reason, Lisa thought my idea was funny too and was happy to work with me that night.

Later on, she said to Midas and Mr. Cashmoney ” Midas has the coolest wife in the world - I can’t believe she let him get a lap dance!!!” Mr. Cashmoney laughed out loud. “Let him??? The man had to pay her $100 for it!” (I did mention that I pocketed the c-note right?)

Truthfully, it was all in good fun. I have no objection to my hubby getting a lapdance if its in good fun and if I’m there (Can I think of any other ‘if’s’?) )

By the way, Midas did grab the c-note back from me when I wasn’t looking - so he got the dance for free!!! But all was not lost - I did make a buck or two!!! ) Although Lisa and I exchanged cards with plans to make money together again in the future, we haven’t been in touch since. But you never know… pimping can be addictive )

Weekend summary

Posted in General on December 22nd, 2003 by Dr. D

Well, the weekend gone wasn’t too bad. Friday night I chilled at home because it was quite rainy and I was out the night before having some drinks with the crew from high school. As usual, we enjoyed the usual camraderie….one of the best things about having drinks if you ask me. I mean, on occasion I may feel for a rum when I’m alone, but it is much better to drink with a bredren or two, or with a member of the fairer sex. So, on Friday night, being a bit chillier than it usually is here, I hit the sack about midnight after watching some TV.

Saturday came along, got up fairly early even though I wasn’t on call for the weekend. Had breakfast and eventually got my lazy ass moving to put up the Christmas tree. When it was more or less up (I have an artificial tree from years back), the phone rings. One of my Aunts was calling in desperation, wanted my second opinion as she thought her husband (one of my Uncles) may have had a stroke. OK, so the putting up of lights and decorations on the tree get frig for a while. I hold a quick fresh and while drying off the phone rings again…..a bredren this time. “Are you ready?” So, quite confused as to what is going on I ask, “Ready fe wha?” Anyway, he was really joking and asked if I would be able to render some medical assistance to one of his siblings. So, I replied in the affirmative, but would have to deal with my Uncle’s case first. (I guess you realize that being a doctor, I am ‘on call’ to my family and some of my bredrens who are like family to me. They know who they are and they need not fret about asking for help or advice when they need it. I give it with pleasure. Its these little things in life that count and God has a way of arranging payback anyway.)

Long and short of it, my Uncle Gorgeous (as the ladies call him), did have a stroke, albeit a mild one. Actually, I told him, “Uncle Gorgeous, you lucky to rass! It could have been much worse” Now, he knows this. You see, he is a cool hombre, and even though he is my Uncle, he is the kinda guy who you can sit down with and have a man to man discussion with, with no inhibitions….if you get the drift! Problem with him is that he has a graet affinity for the liquor. Hey, I may mention a rum here often, but my consumption level is miniscule compared to his. When my bwoy ready fe beat liquor it can get pretty bad. In addition, he has had bad hypertension for a loooooong time. But hear what…..him don’t love swallow him pills. Why? Well, he says that it interferes with his ‘nature’. (The pressure tablets reduce his ability to have a good erection.) Now, in all honesty, that is a side effect of some blood pressure tablets…..one of the common reasons why lots of men hate to take them….but some cause it more than others. From years back he has been swallowing garlic. One day about five yers ago, he had asked me to take his pressure for him. I obliged. It was so high that I told him that he should be in hospital to stabilise it. When I asked him what he was taking for it…..garlic….can’t tell when last he took the pills! So, after I told him two good claat, and gave him the choice between a good cockstand or a stroke, I think he started taking them…at least for a while. Anyway, my prediction from way back then came to be.

Uncle Gorgeous, I will keep checking on you, but you haffi tek you tablets and go to your doctor regularly my yute. Don’t worry too much bout the hood now, fret not, it will still rise to the occasion. Luckily, you had a very small one (stroke that is).

Dealt with the problem of my bredren’s sibling after and ran some errands on the road. Traffic not as bad as I had expected for the last weekend before Christmas Day. Eventually made it back home and finished the tree. It doesn’t look bad at all, I may post a picture if I’m in the mood.

Saturday night, went by a friend who was baking hams….I sort of assisted while having some spirit. Not too bad.

Yesterday was routine in the day, became a rude bwoy miself inna de night hours still! Not bad. Detailed content not suitable for this blog!

So, its Monday morn the week of the Xmas holiday. Work should be fairly short today….no complaint on my part. I have to go to the supemarket as well! Growl, cuss etc. I’ve just taken the larger ham out the freezer. I will bake it tonight…..may prove to be a long night with some more spirit and camraderie.

Ahh, the preparations we all get involved with for Christmas. I love the holiday, but sometimes I wonder if this one day is really worth all the effort. Rahtid, I forgot I have some presents to wrap as well. Any volunteers? Later people.
