An update….
Well, I haven’t walked these past two evenings because of night work (no, not that type of night work….legitimate work where I see patients) which I do a few evenings per week in addition to my work at the hospital. One does have to work like the devil in order to keep your head above water in this country…or death by drowning is sure to happen with our economic climate.
Anyway, I must by all means walk this evening as I am starting to see some positive effects from this already. One of my readers Michelle (AKA Yamfoot) asked where I walk. The answer to that is right here in my area. The walk takes me uphill for about five to seven minutes and overall takes me anywhere from 35 to 40 minutes. I like the convenience of not having to go somewhere else to get exercise.
Last night I collected a bredren at the airport. On my way there I was stopped by the Police who were doing a routine check. I was driving pretty fast as well, so when the officer jumped out into the road and beckoned me to stop, I cussed myself as I assumed I was going to get a speeding ticket. Well, I was wrong about the speeding, but right about the ticket. My certificate of fitness had expired from October last year!
I was totally oblivious to this fact. That sort of crap does not usually happen to me. Probably I just got too caught up in life’s happenings to remember that it was time to have it renewed. So, now, in additon to the fee for the fitness, I have a ticket of Ja. $2G to pay.
Anyway, a my fault and a jus life to rass! Cho.
Yesterday, I get a call from hospital admin….”Dr. D. Could you come up to sign your new contract?” So I went up there. Well, I suppose with all the crap that’s going down in this island of ours, I should be thankful as dem gimme a small raise. So, me sign the contract. Thanks to the Almighty for mi likkle job. It does pay the bills. (Don’t know if any of you saw the article in the paper a few days back highlighting the fact that over 3,000 people applied for 25 jobs as flight attendants with Air Jamaica!
I can’t link it now…it’s late and I have work. But it only shows that things nuh easy out deh at all.) Dem seh mi gratuity from the previous contract a pay next month. Dem better don’t loaf wid dat…..it essentially is what I get instead of pension (and I’m not getting any younger!).
Last but not least, “The relationship that men have with their orgasms is masked in mystique and intrigue.” That is a quote from this Gleaner article called Orgasm and a man’s identity. The quote sounds a bit heavy to me….made me do some thinking actually. Rlationship? Possibly. Mystique and and intrigue?? Hmm, that sounds almost like a cult or religion. Anyway, read it for yourself, you just might learn something or have a few comments to share, and you you know much I man love dat. Have a blast of day!
January 21st, 2004 at 11:53 am That was a little touch-feely, wasn’t it? I bet you don’t find that type of article in the typical guys’ magazine!
January 21st, 2004 at 12:14 pm I’m not at all sure about that article. I take it, it is one of a series of articles? What mystique?
January 21st, 2004 at 8:39 pm Men like orgasms. Men get orgasms with their penis’ (and sometimes with a woman as well. !
January 26th, 2004 at 7:48 am Mystique and intrigue? Somebody smoked too much ganja before writing that one.
January 26th, 2004 at 7:49 am By the way, I did happen to read the rest of your post and retain that info, too. I can’t believe that 3,000 applied for just 25 openings. That’s unbelievable.
