A bit busy…….

……….I have been a bit busier than usual this weekend, hence I haven’t had much time for this blog or many others. Sorry if you came here to be disappointed and find no post.

I’m sure you’ve heard about the security mesaures that visitors to the United States will have to go through….in addition to the ones that already existed. They now will want people like me who hail from places like Jamdown to be fingerprinted and eventually to have retinal scanning done. I suppose they are trying to start up a database with people’s biometrics eh. Hopefully they will be able to identify terrorists and the like. Can you imagine if someone were to get into the database and mismatch one’s biometrics??? Resulting in you, a regular decent traveller being recognized as a terrorist! It is possible, isn’t it?

I was actually fingerprinted in November last year when I was leaving Aruba to go to Florida. They made us clear US Customs and Immigration there so when the flight landed in Miami, we just collected our luggage. I was pulled aside for about fifteen minutes by the US Immigration Officer and put through the whole routine. I just kept my cool as me nuh name terrorist and me naw traffic drugs. Eventually, I was given the green light, but one of my colleagues with whom I was travelling said she started to wonder if I was going to be allowed to take the flight that day.

Brazil apparently retaliated when they heard all these measures that were being implemented by the US and decided to introduce similar red tape for Americans who wish to travel to the US. Read this article about an outta control Yank who had his business fixed for him on a visit to Brazil. I seh….serve him right! Him lucky seh it wasn’t a Jamaican parent that was holding that baby or there may well have been a true Yardie style lynching on dat rass flight. BTW, I don’t want any of my American readers to think this is an attack on them, I just feel that this guy got what he deserved. Even he admits that he overreacted.

I’ve been keeping up my resolution with walking averaging a minimum of three evenings per week! It feel good you see my crew! I won’t be able to go tomorrow because of work, so I extended it a bit tonight.

Anyway, me nuh have nutten much to chat bout, so before onoo cusss me….me gone. Lawks….work week again tomorrow! Anyhow, no work, no breads…… (then again, work deh deh and bread still scarce!) Have a good night.

BTW, whappen to Trish site!!??

Actually, I love the fact that Brazil is giving them a taste of their own medicine! I wish we could all afford to do so! And yeah, what is up with Trish’s site? Trish?

Hey MadBull and Dr.D, I am not sure what happened to the site. I will contact the site administrator today to find out what is wrong. Thanks for making me know something is wrong. I had no idea.

Of course, the worst thing about this whole thing is that if a terrorist groups with mostly white members sprang up from somewhere, they’d have no trouble getting into the States. One has to wonder what these checks are really for?
