Can you believe….
….that March is here already? The year is flying away people. Maybe it is just me, but somehow when I was in school, time seemed to pass more slowly. Do any of you feel the same way?
The weekend just passed was one that had me doing a lot of stuff that I had pending. I will soon complete the talk that I’m preparing for our little symposium that is scheduled for two weeks time.
Last night I was over at a friend and we ended tekking ‘een the Oscars. Bwoy, if you were nominated for an award in any category where the Lord of the Rings was, then you might as well have stayed at you yard….cause they made a clean sweep. Actually, I haven’t seen any of the shows in this trilogy, but I suppose that they deserve credit (unless dem did drop some serious payoff money…
)…I doubt it. While watching the show which finished about midnight, hunger set een…..I had dinner (or more like a late Sunday lunch) at about 3:30 PM so the worms were calling out for grub. Pizza and lasagne should have done the trick…and it did. However, my recommendation….don’t eat so much so late…..the bloated feeling next morning coupled with the illegal release of potentially poisionous gases might result in sudden death to those in the immediate vicinity.

The newspapers here are bursting at the seams with stories about Haiti. CARICOM is having an emergency summit here tomorrow, headed by PJ…our Prime Minister. You can go read the lead article in the Gleaner if you wish, but, I warn you, the photo of PJ which captions the article is not likeley to make the sun shine for you on this here Monady morn! Apart from that, it is the start of another work week and as I don’t have much else to share, here’s hoping that yours is productive. Later.
March 1st, 2004 at 5:25 pm I hear that Aristide now says that the U.S. kidnapped him and forced him to leave… Bwoy, I don’t know what it is about the U.S. and dictators… They simply abhor the idea of people killing them. Now here is a case where one of their number (from all the bad stuff I’ve been reading, anyway) was virtually begging to be killed and the fool-fool U.S. couldn’t stand still and just let it happen? If it wasn’t for all the innocents who’d be slaughtered, I’d be all for it!
Anyway, whatever else happens, I hope that they ensure that the Guy Phillipe bunch don’t get into power, because they would probably be worse than Aristide, like how they were involved in death squads and such delights…
