Chat about happenins….
Well, forgive me for posting about local events in the news, but right now, I haven’t got much else to write about. What’s that you seh? Maybe I should just not post then?? Ok, be like that.
No, jus a play round as usual. But, if you really are expecting some deep post asking for your opinion or such crap…you won’t get that here at the moment.
Last nite, I took two women out to dinner. No, don’t get any ideas, I didn’t participate in an after dinner threesome that lots of us bredrens dream about. My ex boss is here, she came from the States on some business. So I invited her and Diana, one of my colleagues who no longer works at the hospital, to dinner. We went to Dragon Garden. The food was sweet!
Had a good time chatting with them. I guess that was basically yesterday’s highlight.
Oh, I didn’t tell you what we had. OK, since you insist……I had a hot and sour soup, Diana had a Wonton soup. My ex boss declined soup. Main dishes were a Subgum Warbar, Sweet and Sour Chicken and a Steamed Snapper in black bean sauce. I could easily repeat the performance tonight, but I’m sure that I would soon become akin to the Goodyear blimp, as both Diana and my ex-boss are not heavy eaters, so you done know who ate for two. Dessert was ice cream with lychees. Mmmm Mmmm!
Anyway, now I am sitting in front of my cuppa Earl Grey to get in the mood for work.
Scanning the Gleaner, I notice that the influx of Haitians to Portland continues, with over a hundred more arriving in Portland yesterday! Now, I have been in touch with a Doctor bredren in Portland, as I am mekking plans to start going there on a sessional basis to see some Dermi patients. Bwoy, my yute is on the team involved in the caring for the refugees, and him seh him frus out! The man says he is reaching home on an average after ten in the nights. Of course he didn’t tell me in such decent English. Our little discussion was coloured wid nuff claat….not from me either…and you know that I’m no stranger to the claats. Anyway, I told him to hang in there and promised to walk with some VX to share with him when the Portland thing comes off the ground, hopefully not too far from now.
I don’t want to bore anybody, but there is more if you want to press on……..
Football feva is again in the air. We play Venezuela in a friendly at the Stadium tomorrow. Remember I had mentioned that our big striker, Onandi Lowe was arrested in England because he was found in possession of a ‘controlled substance’? Well apparently, the team will have to do without him tomorrow as he cannot travel. Seems they don’t feel it will have too much of an impact on the result, but, we will see.
Apparently, the team has new blood as well. A yute named Marlon King is hoping to buss some shot inna de net, let’s hope the ‘Scoring King’ will wear his crown well and deliver. All the best to him.
After all that hype, I doubt that I will be at stadium tomorrow still. My football partner in crime is AWOL, and I haven’t been able to contact the Solja Bwoy. In addition to that, the patient of mine that has football connections and had promised to work up two free tickets for me, has not scored any goals. Cho, I hadn’t really put my mind on it. So, I guess I will do the next best and watch it on the TV tomorrow nite, while I sip some brew. At least if they do any friggery on the field resulting in my having to cuss some rass, I will be at my own yard where I don’t have to pay taxes for bad behaviour!
That about sums up things on the home front at the moment. We had some nice showers of rain yesterday which helped cool the place down a bit. And, at the moment, it is a beautiful morning with a blue cloudless sky. So, with those words mek me shaddup and go hold a fresh. Anyting a gwaan inna your corner o de woods? Feel free to chat about the highlights. Cool nuh.
April 27th, 2004 at 9:05 am Good Morning D. Well, nothing much is going on in our neck of the woods either. We too had rain here yesterday and on Sunday too. But we actually did not need the cooling down as it is still quite cool here in the north of Central Ontario. Other than that, Kidlets # 1 & 2 have been sick No. 2 with a sore throat and No. 1 with a cold and chills etc. My #+**&^computer is down. I have lost my entire medical dictionary and am having to redo the whole think. So as you can tell, I am NOT that happy a camper. Other than that, everything is fine here.
April 27th, 2004 at 6:55 pm Hi Ciya, thanks for blessing the comment box….things have become a bit quiet on the blogging scene as a certain individual is not on the net too regularly. Sorry to hear of your computer woes. They are like babies these things. Breeze blow pon dem and dem ketch cold.
April 27th, 2004 at 9:46 pm Chiney food, yum!
My yute, I think its time we begin sending the Haitians back home before they overrun us! I’m getting worried!
April 27th, 2004 at 10:30 pm Yes rude bwoy….tings getting a bit uncomfortable. Apparently the government has asked the U.N. to assist.
