A Baby Girl
I remember a little baby girl.
She was the cutest thing to me (up until Kidlet # 1 came along
)
She had these little fat cheeks and these big curls. She had a slight touch of knocked knees too, but we never mentioned that.
She came along eight years after me. In between we had a baby boy, also the cutest thing. But I often got in trouble for trying to play with him. He was only three years my junior.
This little girl was our sweet baby sister. She was always the most affectionate of us all. She was the one who would make WELCOME HOME posters for the rest of us, if we had been away. She was kind and thoughtful. Mind you, she did like to change her clothes 3-4 times per day. In the mornings, when it was time to get ready for school, she would put on one sock and sit and read something, then the other sock and sit and play with something, until finally she was dressed.
She was slightly precocious; I remember her telling me once that she should be allowed to go somewhere that I had not been allowed to at her age because when I had been her age I had not looked like she presently did. That was the day that I decided to leave the child rearing so someone more capable than myself.
She grew up, rather quicker that we wanted her to….She became this beautiful young lady. She still carries with her the love and thoughtfulness. She has an amazing business mind….Certainly, did not get it from me. Now a days, she is a busy wife and entrepeneur. A beautiful young lady, who we all love and miss.
She is our baby sister - Seven!!!
Love you Seven!!!
May 17th, 2004 at 5:01 pm Well, let me not mash up the party or burst seven’s bubble…… Ciya, when I first started reading, a Jamaican song came to mind….just change Sharon to Ciya! “Sharon a pregnant, you pregnant?” “No Mama!”……….. Just wondered for a mo if there was a female KL# 4 in the making! I see I was wrong, but thought I’d just let you know what my initial thought was when I started to read. Had no idea you could have been chatting about seven! Hi Sev! How are ya!!?? See you soon.
May 18th, 2004 at 8:52 pm Surely you were five years older than the little boy… I always thought so, anyway.
May 18th, 2004 at 10:17 pm The story about my telling her when she was my age…dat dah… - she’s making that up, OK!!! I never said that! > I don’t know about all that good stuff - I’m just me, as i always say - I’m just this amazingly lucky girl who’s the baby of a family of seven amazing people, who were born and raised by truly amazing and wonderful people. I used to get into trouble quite a bit - but that wasn’t because I was naughty, just misunderstood! In fact, ask her to tell you her other favorite story about Clakin being a horror!!! Truly, though, Like I posted as a comment on MB’S blog the other night - I am so grateful for all of YOU guys! I love you guys so very much and I mis you like crazy!!! ps - I may be the baby, but I’m the boss of all of them!
