Nutten special really…
OK everybody. Its Friday again happily. I am on call tonight so I won’t be hitting the streets later. Luckily, I am not taking call for the rest of the weekend.
Just here doing a little ramble. Had a nice time at private practice last nite. Some of my bona fide patients that I hadn’t seen in a while were back to see me. It is nice when some of the patients coming to see me have built up a rapport. It is almost like having a bredren come and check me at my yard and we share pleasantries, chat crap and ting while allowing some spirit to flow. Now, naturally, no real liquid spirit flows at work, but the spirit was there with some of the folks I saw last night. Helps the work to pass quickly and make it pleasant as well. So, I drove home feeling irie, with a smile on my face and some more funds in the kitty!
After all, it is not because of my good looks why I am there, if that were the case I doubt anyone would come to see me!
The people at registration made a slight mistake with one lady though. Her file was on my desk and I called her into the office. My usual routine is to introduce myself as the Dermatologist and ask what I can do about the skin, if anything at all. She then looks at me, “So, you are a Dermatologist and Gynaecologist as well?”
Instantly, I’m on my guard. I replied, “Gynaecologist? Not at all!” I ask her, “Are you here about a female problem?” She says yes. So I then tell her that someone seems to have made a mistake at registration. She needs to see Dr. Dwite. I apologise for the inconvenience, she realises that it was the receptionist’s fault and not mine. So getting out of the chair, she makes a joke, “Indeed, Dr. D. It is a female problem, and as far as I’m aware nothing is wrong with the skin down there!”
So, we ended pleasantly. See how important it is to communicate basic information? Nice that she understood and ended it pleasantly as she was waiting for almost an hour to see me. Some people would have been quite pissed off at the inconvenience.
On the Olympic front, here is our Golden Girl, Veronica Campbell overcome with emotion when she hears our national anthem being played in Athens. I must say that watching her receive the gold medal does stir up my emotions as well. Respec due to her again.
We also received a silver in the men’s 400 metres hurdles yesterday. Big up Danny McFarlane!
Today, our women’s team hopes to medal in the 4 X 100 metres relay too. I may well be at the grind when it is being run, so if anything, I will have to prips that race later when I get home. All the best to our girls. I saw the semi final of that yesterday and it seems the Yankee girls plan to put up a tough fight for the gold. We shall see. Go Jamaica, GO!
Kinda long for nutten special I guess. Anyhow, have a rass of Friady and enjoy the weekend. ![]()

Still, if I were you, I’d have asked the woman if she didn’t want you to check out the skin down there just to make sure, after all, she waited so long to see you, she might as well have done it!
