Finally….
…I have mustered up the energy to post suppem. Bwoy, man shouldn’t really haffi buss dem shirt so to mek a money. But, alas, I have heard from I was a yute that it is by the sweat of our brow that we eat bread… (and I suppose, imbibe VX also!
)
After attendng to Ward Round changes yesterday, it was time to teach the Physiotherapy students. I was about ten minutes late in starting the little teaching as there was plenty to see to after the round regarding the pateints under my care, including one discharge, from hospital that is…..(just in case the minds of people like Angry Dawg or Mad Bull were straying elsewhere
)
While setting up the laptop and the projector, I was chatting with the group of students briefly. There were about twelve of them, three males only. One of the gyal dem did look well still! (Yes, I know I’m supposed to be teaching, but I am and will always be a male!
) Anyway, did the little teaching….seems plenty of them in the class were a bit disturbed by some of the facts about the Herpes virus. Nevertheless, they were pretty attentive and seemed to get all itchy as I did Scabies!
Went to New Kingston during lunchtime to look ’bout some business and eventually, I decided to treat myself to a decent lunch. Had a Special Chow Mein from one of my favourite Chinese spots. Good stuff…did well happy and a bit sleepy after.
Evening into night was private practice…saw nine new patients (no complaints…me need de funds) and was pretty tiyad after. Made it home at about 8:45 PM. Needless to say, while I was eating dinner, I did some blog surfing but just couldn’t get the strength to type. Bed called and I answered but had to hold a fresh first.
Hey, the nights dem a cool down nicely you see. I had dreamed all kinda fart last night still, woke up at about 3:30 AM and found miself a think. Turned on the tele to see if it could help to put me back in slumber and it did… (I woke up this morning with it watching me!
)
So, finally, here I am again. Today I don’t have any teaching or such thing to do…(there are bills to be paid though), but as the evening is relatively ‘free’ I think I going try hold a walk later. I haven’t walked since the hurricane and the tool shed naw shock out…it would have been nice if Ivan had blown away the roof of the toolshed and left the ‘tool’ intact!
But I guess life does not always happen the way we want it to.
On local news, you may have read about Operation Kingfish, a move by the government to try (again) to target drug related and donman crime here. Seems that they may be facing courthouse and is just a matter of a week or so that the Kingsfish thing was launched. Oh well. We watch and see.
P.S. BTW, I hope I doh vex none of the ladies with my likkle rude bwoy comments….maybe mi mind is deep in….mek me stop yaw!
Have a good day.
October 26th, 2004 at 9:35 am Good morning Dr. D. - yu seem to like Chinese Food. Have you ever been to Dim Sum down there? Also-that chinese restuarant over at Market Place (not sure if that’s the correct name) on Constant Springs, the last time I was there which was about 3 years ago, the food is pretty good. Real Chinese from the mainland are the cooks-not unless that’s all changed. Have a great day.
October 26th, 2004 at 11:18 am Hi all…. Sunshine, yes, the goodly Doc has been to the restaurant you speak of, but nowhere near as often as I used to go there, I’ll wager. Indeed, I would say that I used to be one of their best clients! They were very good, the name of the restaurant is China Express, but they offered gourmet quality rather that the type of quality that their name suggests… the only comparable chinese restaurants in Kingston (IMHO) were Jade Garden (el supremo) and Dragon City, both of which are located in the Liguanea area…
Chinese food rules!
October 26th, 2004 at 1:33 pm Hey Doc, the toolshed is there for a purpose!. MB, I agree with you about China Express and Jade Garden, never really been to Dragon City [or have I?]. But do you remember when Golden Dragon used to be king soooo many years ago? Speaking of which, when unnu come visit me in fareen, I will take unnu to a likkle restaurant where unnu can nyam as much as unnu want fi bout $6.00 Sunshine, you mix wid Chinese like Stu peas?
October 26th, 2004 at 3:28 pm Well there are a few more around now. Dragon Court is a good one too. CHINESE FOOD ANYTIME ALLTHETIME and EVERYTIME
October 26th, 2004 at 7:18 pm Hail up to the Chiney Food crew. Sunshine, in Ja. when you think of eating out, there are nuff Chinese places and then a few others. In essence, I think the Chiney food is value for money. Mi Daddy a half Chiney, and yes, I do like the food. It has been almost tradition in my family to buy that on family birthdays and on weekends when nobody nuh waan cook. Dragon City is still good, as is Jade Garden (too pricey unless someone else a pay!
October 27th, 2004 at 12:01 am I love the enthusiasm about the Chinese food. I’ve eaten at Jade Gardens many years ago, if it’s the same one on Constant Spring, upstairs. The food was really good. Ambience is nice, but it’s always for the food. I’ve had wonderful meals, mainly local Jamaican dishes in shanty shacks. My favorite “watering hole” is Faiths Pen #10 or 12 I think. Did Gloria’s, Port Royal open? OK- I need to clear up something here. I just love how some people (I won’t mention any names STU) can speak for you. Excuse me, but I’m not as single as you think I am. I’ve been seeing my particular love interest for 8 months. It is one of these relationships that have had it’s ups and downs and have now finally settled into some “normalacy”. However, that doesn’t mean I can’t have male or female friends and a life a part. So when I’m Jamaica, maybe we can meet and have a good time at all these places you folks have been blogging about. Dr. D. interesting you are half Chiney. Angry Dog-if yu mean if I’m related to Stu-yes. Sister.
October 27th, 2004 at 12:41 am Erm, honestly - is there a race of people outside of the Great Wall who love chineses food more than Jamaicans? We ALL love chinese food!!!! Jade Garden - now located at The Sovereign Shopping Center and China Express have the best Chinese Food!!! Here in South Florida, chinese food is a hit or miss - and most often, a miss. My personal favorite Chinese restaurants re: Uncle Tai’s in Boca Raton and P.F. Chang - located in Miami Gardens! Peppers’ Chinese Cusines in Pembroke Pines Otherwise, you can skip the Chinese food here and you’re better off with the Thai or Japanese!
October 27th, 2004 at 8:31 am I meant to post my “relationship” paragraph on the following post. Seven!!!I didn’t know you live in So. Florida. Love Thai food and there is an excellent one right here in Boca. Uncle Tai’s-buoy yu must be earning some big dollars since Uncle Tai’s is pricey. Never been there but I understand very good.
October 27th, 2004 at 8:31 am Seven, thanks again to you and Midas for taking me to P.F Chang…that was excellent! But I agree with you that the Chinese food in South Florida at many places is pale compared to what we have here. I guess you have to know where to go. Sunshine, we can always link for food and drink regardless of whats up with your pal of eight months. I am one who feels that people should be allowed friends from both genders regardless of their being in healthy committed relationships. I think it speaks to a certain level of maturity and trust. Sunshine, my Daddy being half Chiney makes me quarter I think. But what the hell, we are Jamaicans and part of that identity speaks to being very mixed. Like I told a lady who was enquiring of my ethnicity once, “It really does not matter what I am, I am a human being and I’m Jamaican!”
October 27th, 2004 at 8:32 am BTW Sunshine, I haven’t been to Gloria’s in years, apparently they had hurricane damage, so I’m not sure of their present status. The curry lobster used to wikid!
October 27th, 2004 at 8:34 am Wait, Sunshine, is Boca you live? I don’t want to be one to cast judgement, but as far as I am aware, dem nuh have nuh poor folk a live in Boca Raton still…..
October 27th, 2004 at 9:16 am Hi All. Sunshine (Love sunshine by the way
October 27th, 2004 at 2:56 pm First let me address Dr. D. Yes, we can certainly get together regardless of our “relationship” status. Not a problem. Scratachie-yu too. Don’t want to leave out any of our bloggers. I realized after I blogged that you would be 1/4 Chiney-just an observation…..me nah hole it ‘gainst yu. Yikes-I had the best fried fish at Gloria’s-but Hellshire is right there-Miss Mae’s I think. SEVEN!! Ratid-me nevva know seh yu live right ya so. BTW- I’ve heard many good things about P.F. Changs and we have one right here in Boca-I think on Glades…..well, well now….it’s a very small world we live in. Anytime you want to have food and drink -mek me know.
October 27th, 2004 at 3:04 pm OOOPS Dr. D. regarding that comment about no poor people living in Boca-well I’d like to tell you that I am probably the only poor person living here
October 27th, 2004 at 8:08 pm Sunshine my dear…in Boca…’poor’ is relative!
