Whuzzup?

Well, in case you didn’t know, this weekend was Jamaica Carnival, and today was the road march. Now, I have been having a pretty irie weekend since Friday night. Unfortunately (or fortunately) that means that I have been imbibing a fair amount of mind altering liquid substance. Indeed, at this very moment, man unda about three Red Stripe…which for you seasoned drinkers may not be anything great. Anyhow, I know that a certain blogging bredrin with whom I have been associated for more than half my life woulda post nuff bad wud comment if I did not go and tek een some of the skin sights as a derm doc.
Now, one of the yutes who we sometimes knock a few with on Friday nights has a store in King’s Plaza. He invited myself and another one of the Blue and White crew to come join him today. He put up a tent in the parking lot at King’s Plaza and there was soca music, as well as food and very reasonably priced brew. I headed out at about 2 PM donning a hat, cut off T-shirt and baggy shorts with the trusty Olympus digicam. Rahtid, when I reached by Peppers….Police nuh block road!
So, I had to park on the road by Peppers and walk to King’s Plaza. Took me about fifteen minutes…I tell you….the smell of the goodly herb permeated the humid afternoon air. Indeed….I guess it can’t be a Jamdown public event if herb naw smoke eeh!? Is ganja really illegal here? Got there in time to see most of the parade.
Now, IMHO, it seems the Carnival ting losing momentum..the parades were not that large and in about 30 minutes….it was all over. Parades done. Nevertheless, there was some reasonable eye candy to give even those males with the most impeccable of dental hygiene, a cavity or two. If not cavities, then perhaps….a ‘head’ache!
The shot above showcases some of the sweets. Nice.
Never took that many photos. Why? Well, let me just say, I do not have a washboard abdomen with a six pack that is rippled. But, at the same time, I am not jumping inna carnival and showng my belly….which is much smaller than plenty I saw exposed today. Trus me, nuff man and woman that I saw today clearly have no mirrors at dem yard. Either that, or dem have no shame tree. Indeed, the bigga the wanga gut, the more dem a expose it, and some a dem all pierce the belly button….yuck. No photos of those. Anyway, it wasn’t a bad afternoon and I guess they were enjoying themselves despite their extra pounds.
I hear from Legal Aid, one of mi cousins, that we may link later. So hear what, enjoy the other photo in the MORE section while I man go put some dinner into the stomach.

Vitalize indeed! Curses to the yute who walked into the field of my picha while I was tekking it. Cho ra$$!

April 4th, 2005 at 10:10 pm Saw some outfits heading in the jump up direction. Didn’t see any of the parade but buck up nuff road block on the way to campus. Not my thing really. I don’t mind the watching but mi nuh have dem kind of rhythm at all. two left feet and too much guts.
