Friday thoughts…
I woke earlier than usual this morning as I retired early last night. Sometimes when the body cries out for rest, we should just listen to it and comply. This morning is overcast and relatively cool. I don’t see any blue sky….my memories of a ‘nice’ London morning are are stirred. The house has a beautiful quiet to it, a fresh morning breeze is coming in through the open window of my study, from where I have a vista of the hills surrounding my area….green again after the welcome showers of rain that fell from the heavens in the last week or two. The life giving water greeted by flora and fauna of all species. I hear the sound of birds chirping, the sound of the occasional mutt barking. I sit back and relax while sipping from the cup of Earl Grey tea, in my usual ‘at home’ garb.
Eventually, I step out on the driveway, to open the padlock which secures the gate….have to protect our few hard earned assests from the hands of the unscrupulous that roam the soil of this land, a breed which seems to be wantonly reproducing. But alas, we cannot allow them to, this is just as much our country as it is theirs…the struggle continues.
I collect the morning paper and my two mutts greet me, their tails wagging back and forth in a frenzy. I glance at the headlines…. “Full board of solid waste agency goes.”…..’Yeah, whatever’, is my thought in response.
I think back on the week coming to a close. It wasn’t a bad one. I look forward to this evening when I drive the trusty Integra out the gates of the hospital and bid it farewell until tomorrow….I am on call Saturday and Sunday. I think of the bredrins I will greet this evening over spirit, pleasantries being shared, fists being knocked, badmouting, one and two expletives, but it is all good.
I thank God for my life, I thank Him for family, friends and my job. I thank Him for another Friday….TGIF my crew.
The Doctor is out.

TGIF, rude bwoy! And I don’t have to go in to work this weekend, so far as I know anyway… a good thing, because all last night I had to be there till 10:30 pm.

April 30th, 2005 at 2:52 am It is too bad you have to lock up your yard, but I get the idea of what it is like in Ja from reading here when I can. You may (or may not) be surprised to know our yard is wide open, we sometimes forget to lock the garage, and still all is still in it the next morning. I guess… this is part of why I love where I live (though we do have some areas of higher crime in Canada, and my city for that matter).
