Dem sick stomach….
Jus a quick entry. I jus come home after a rough day at work and I leaving soon to go Terra Nova…anodda drug company a sponsor a dinner launching an acne treatment. Terra Nova food usually good, so I here preparing mi belly…naw eat the dinner that was cooked here…which is oxtail with broad beans. Then again, if the dinner at the meeting nuh ready I have yard to fall back on.
Anyway, this morning while getting ready to go work, I was watching the foreign news about the destruction caused by Katrina in the Gulf States. You know it….homes and businesses destroyed, nuff flood waters, no light, no water, food shortage, people dead, risk of disease, jus bare misery. But, what gets me is the LOOTERS! What the frig is wrong wid dem? Live to capitalize off the misfortune of others….dem sick man stomach. I hope if people who trying to guard what lef of dem business places shot up dem rahtid when dem find dem a teif…nobody nuh have shyte fe seh. Sickening likkle scavengers!
Anyway, I going hol a fresh and get ready to leave. Later.
August 31st, 2005 at 9:02 pm I feelin’ yuh Dr.D. But at the same time, mi cyaan really blame dem. People dem hungry and needy… the images I was seeing was people wid drinks and pampers… they in NEED!!! And no one seems to have been prepared to rush to their aid in the wake of the storm. It sickening yes! Land ‘o’ plenty??? Land o’ eefry ef yuh aaks me about now… *sigh*
August 31st, 2005 at 11:14 pm Fyr: It’s not mainly food they’re stealing. They’re looting, guns, tv, vcr, jewelry, etc. It’s sickening. Their neighbors are lying dead all around them and instead of helping all dem can think of is fi tief!! Sickening!
September 1st, 2005 at 8:45 am Fyr, Pauline…was chatting about this last night with colleagues at the dinner I went to… I can understand the stealing of water and food as a desperate measure to try to preserve life…anything else….TV, VCR, jewellery…sorry. They are just as bad as the ones who looted when hurricane Gilbert devastated us some years back. If I remember correctly someone (doh remember who) actually made a song about the widespread looting titled suppem like “A Gilbert gimi!”
September 1st, 2005 at 8:50 am I never liked ox tail it looks so strange in the pot.Ox tail soup is a big deal in my family on saturdays I could never eat it.
September 1st, 2005 at 9:12 am Hi Dr. D.-If they are taking food and water and clothes-not TV, Stereo and those type of items, I don’t consider that looting. It’s survival and God forbid that I should be in that situation, believe me I’m going take the food and water and clothes. It’s a desparate situation down there.

September 2nd, 2005 at 5:25 pm true dat…. no where to plug in a tv or even sit to watch it on… madness dat… Is only dis mawnin that I realize seh them tekkin it to a whole new level… the images I saw was people wid pampers and drinks and bread in the their arms leaving the store… oh well. How much worse is it to snipe at helicopters trying to airlift the ill to safety?
