Whadup people?

Well, it is approaching nine tonight, and I am winding down a pretty good but at the same time tiring weekend….but tired as I am and fighting off a low grade flu…I naw complain. As I was not the one whose name was on the rota this weekend…..Friday evening was welcomed with a big smile pon man face. But this Friday was not just a normal TGIF one…dah one yah did sprecial….naw…it was not my birthday….(one of my crew was celebrating his)…but still…it was not the main reason why Friday gone was wikider than usual. OK, so what then?

Yow, hol on nuh…how you jus a rush man so…you doh know in Jamaica we love the term ‘Soon come!?’ Anyway, the Friday lime started with VX at a bredrin yard….nuff chat and pleasantries was a gwaan…and I was imbibing a bit faster than usual….my rude yutes picked up on this…my faster than normal drinking rate….so they started to wonder wtf a gwaan? Like I keeping you all in suspense….I did the same to them for a while…they even started to ask if I had got bad news and was trying to drown my bad vibes in juice. Told them no, on the contrary…tings kriss. So, dem start question me. “Yow, you a get married pon de quiet? Whappen…you have a yute on de way and never tell we?” Nope. (Not that either is a bad thing.) “So let off nuh. Mind we haffi leggo some claat unda you skin….we doh like dis suspense shyte you a keep up!”

Ok, I think I have been holding y’all to ransom long enuff now. Have you ever borrowed money from a bank to buy a cyar? And you sweat hard fe earn de money fe keep up wid de payment….some month you doh know whow you gwine manage to mek de payment…and you cyaan afford fe dem fe tek back you cyar….you know what me talking? But, one day, you going pay it off and feel a sense of accomplishment. OK, well, for most ordinary people (and I’m by no means referring to myself as ordinary in the ‘common’ sense at all….(that was for Jdid btw.) After all, we are all special in some way, shape or form. Don’t you agree? Rass, if you nuh check seh you special, den who you think going think so…..Anyway…..let me stop the ramble. No more long argument. Hear is the real deal.

In the week just gone, dis yah casa (house)….no longer carries any MORTGAGE. Why….because we pay off dat bumboclaaat!!! smily Yes people…..I/we can now tell that financial institution that has had my balls squeezing in a vice, where to go and what to go suck out! smily Did I just hear my cheque book let off a big fart!? Den nuh mus….it feeling much more comfortable wid itself. Big up to Daddy…and even though I really shouldn’t big my own chest…big up to me. I jus a bit sorry that Mummy isn’t around to see this come to fruition…something whose time had passed long ago…but I won’t bodda get inna de effries as to why it never happen from long time. Let’s just say good things come to those who persevere even in times of adversity. So, I man was out pon street till about 3 AM Saturday morning a celebrate life. Unfortunately, while driving home, one mangey dawg (I think it mussi one of Angry Dawg bredrin) decided that I had too much fun outta street and it was time to phuck de nite of liming up good and proper. There I am driving, not fast either, and next thing I know, this mongrel just darts in front of my ride…..causing me to swerve and drop inna one rass of a pothole! smily I tell you, I felt for the car. I could swear I had buss a tyre and dented a rim…the sound was so horrid. Well, luckily, I escaped with nutten but a tyre that seems to have a slow leak, and a squeaking that I need to get checked out. I tell you, is a constant set of chronicles with these friggin potholes.

Saturday nite, I was out partying again…yes, is nice fe have you own place….came home at 3 again…after stopping at the pan chicken man in Manor Park on de way home. Hey, pan chicken is irie at dem times when few juice on board.

I soon finish, so if you not tired (or bored) yet, you can read de rest…

Today my Pops is 68. So, I guess the mortgage thingy was a nice present. I also got him a carrot cake for the birthday along with a shirt. I jus killed a slice o de cake….wikid. So, now I winding down as the week to come promises to be a heavy one. Unfortunately my Vincy colleage has to return home (just after coming back from conference) as her Grandma passed away…so she is off to funeral. Makes things even tighter at work, as we now down to two of us without her…..and, mi boss still deh pon leave. Anywhow, these things happen….we will manage at work. So, in the week to come, the only day I’m not on call is Wednesday.

Whatever the week brings, I will start it with a smile, giving God thanks for all the little and the big things that can help to make our lives so much sweeter. Apologies to the ladies for the heap of bad wud…but whatever it comes down to…I am a man….we rude dudes do tend to cuss when things going good, as well as when dem going bad. So, forgive me, I jus happy out rass. You all have a good week, and if you have any news to share, good or bad…gwaan chru. You know you have bloggonistas who care. Respec.

If I told you what the actual purchase price on this house was way back when, you’d laugh…..my take home salary is now more than double that!
