All about nutten…
Well, after a pretty decent weekend, it is back to work for most of us. What amazes me is how quickly January has passed us by. Seems it was yesterday that all the business associated with the Christmas holidays was a gwaan.
I tell you, Friday night inna de early hours….say 6-10 PM, some rass breeeze was a blow in the area. So much so that when I was leaving the yard at about 8:30 to link up the crew, I had to shut the little top windows. Wind was all a howl…..for a moment I was beginning to wonder if we were having some freak storm or shyte inna January. Anyway, it died down after 10 and the rest of the weekend was pretty decent temperature wise….in the 70s. When I looked out on the patio on Saturday morning…..whole heap o leaves, dust and I couldn’t stand the site of the place, so off on a dusting and sweeping I went. Now, yeah, I am definitely one o dem man who nuh love wear plenty clothes when in mi casa….so there I am in boxers and no shirt trying to clean up the place when me start scratch…nuh more friggin cowitch to rass!
I had to run for more Prurix lotion and put on a shirt and track suit bottom or I would not have been able to clean up the place in peace.
This weekend, a number of Kingstonians seemed to have trekked to MoBay for the Jazz Festival. I was pretty amazed at how many free parking spaces were available in Manor Park when I hit the supermarket on Saturday. In addition, there was a bit of a reduction in traffic as well (did anyone else notice this?)…no complaint by me. Nevertheless, it seems that of the motorists that were left behind, a number of them apparently had signed contracts to duss out me and mi cyar! I tell you, is nuff near miss me had on the weekend here, sake of some mophuckers who just cannot drive! Is a good thing I have no ‘nine…..or plenty o dem bad driving crew woulda hol some shot!! There was one female in particular who while reversing in the plaza, thought it a perfect time to be looking in front of her while chatting away on the bloodcleat cell phone. Is a good thing I saw what was happening or I would have a lovely lick in the bonnet of my cyar from a monster SUV today. Eediat!
Anyhow, as you may have surmised by now, I don’t have much to share…let me finish my grub and head to that place where we all have quiet moments before heading up to the hospital. I plan to try to walk this evening. You have a reasonable day and week and keep it cool, zeen.

January 31st, 2006 at 9:00 am You sure is cowitch? There is a dreadful moth in Venezuela I think, and when it goes to the nearby villages in Guyana, them people itch. Or how about the thing we call hairy-worm? A long hair caterpillar. Them cause severe itching. Some o’ them cause pain too.
January 31st, 2006 at 5:10 pm I heard a lady on Motty’s show talking about the cowitch thats been blowing about certain parts of St. Andrew, lately. The blame is being placed on people not keeping empty lots cleared, it seems.
January 31st, 2006 at 6:01 pm Guyana Gyal….Ri is correct..people been calling the radio programmes ’bout it….. is cowitch…..very plentiful up in the Stony Hill region where my yard is…. Not sure that there is anyone to ‘blame’ though…..
