Me deh ’bout….

Hail up every crew member…..I know you probably feel that I’m ‘dissing’ y’all because of the infrequent posts… (big ting dat in Ja…..doh go round de place a diss people….you may end up hurt…), but actually I am not. I just haven’t had many ideas or the time to blog much this week, as I have been busy with work and other things in which I am involved. So what is happening? Well, on Wednesday evening I had a planning meeting to attend…..as I am on in the committee planning a local dermatology symposium which is next month. My part is pretty much 90% taken care of…just some other stuff to look about. Happily, I am NOT giving a talk this time. However, I am giving a talk on fungal skin diseases to pharmacists the week before that symposium, in MoBay. I have to start making the presentation. Sigh. Anyhow, I am set in my mind as to how to approach it, I just need to get started on the Powerpoint and insert some clinical photos. Maybe I should use the cheque that I will be receiving as an incentive to get my fingers moving! smily

Wednesday night, after the meeting, I pressed home….well, I tried to press home, but the traffic effed up that plan, so I didn’t arrive home ’till 7:10 PM. Hogged down my dinner…which was stew gungo peas…nice nuh rahtid…..but I couldn’t really enjoy it because I was a rush so. Hold a quick fresh and dressed to leave the yard by 8:10 PM.

Why was I in such a mad rush? Suppem that I hate to do, ’cause it simply adds to stress……I had a play to go tek een. Well, it was due to start at 8:30 PM. I didn’t arrive ’till 8:40. In good time still…as once I found my seat, they ‘darked up’ the auditorium and the show started. The name of the play was ‘True Colours’ directed by Douglas Prout. Bwoy, all I can say it good nuh rass. I don’t think it is showing for much longer, but can recommend it to any yardies who might want a change of scenery. Good laughs, good story. All I will say is that it is about a love triangle and its repercussions. The female main character is a ‘fatal attraction’ type of woman, who turns out to be screwed up mentally. I can tell you, rather than deal wid a woman who fits that character, I man woulda rather remain single…trus me….WORRIES!!!! Anyway, gwaan tek it een if you want a little humour.

Today, at work we nuh have nuh clinic, (can you hear the loud cheering?) as our Unit is responsible for Grand Rounds. We have a pretty interesting case to share. This time, is not me a do the presentation. Almost every time we do this sorta thing…a me dat. Mek one of the ‘youngsters’ sit in the hot seat this time. So, I will be present to give moral support and backative in case any likkle fassyhole smart ass decides to ask a question designed to cause the presenter to stumble. I tell you ’bout academic medicine…it does attract some types who behave as if they have suppem the size and shape of a watermelon stuck up that body orifice that most of us refer to as allowing ‘one way traffic only to rahtid’! smily

This evening is TGIF….and today is also payday. However, I won’t be out on street late tonight as I driving to Port Antonio early on de morrows to start the little practice. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to later as the week been busy and man tiyad. Will let you know how day one of the practice turns out.

Enuff of me and my own happenings. Here in Jamdown, all we can hear ’bout is tomorrows election of a new Prime Minister. I doh know about anybody else, but to me, all of this hype amounts to nutten more than flatulence……I am sick of hearing about it. Time for it to done so that we can get back to regular programming. My view is that it really matters not who wins..is the same party and the same old cronies…so wah mek?

That is all from me for now….what you haffi report? Have a rahtid weekend.
