Happy Easter…and a bit o news…

Well, pripsing the Gleaner on line over breakfast this morning…a ham sandwich with whole wheat bread, a few slices of canteloupe and a kiwi, and some June Plum juice, I saw where Zeekes has been found guilty on two counts of murder and may face the death penalty. I personally have not been one to think that he was flawless…..so enuff said about that.

Well, this evening marks the beginning of the long Easter weekend. In times gone by, when I was a yute, our family would be hading off to a villa on the northcoast…like Ochi, Oracabessa or even Negril. Those were pretty good days, but times change. Anyway, I am not planning to leave town, but wll be getting in some R ‘n R. I’ll be linking my crew tonight, as tonite come ‘een like a usual Friday nite. Sunday, I am the one on call, but hopefully it will be relatively quiet. Have a bun and some cheese, couple piece will get nyam tomorrow for breakfast. Some sliced fish will be fried. I wasn’t able to get any fresh snappers or parrot fish, and I had no plans to be driving all over looking same. Someone had suggested buying fish from a roadside vendor…that is suppem I doh like….the heap o fish scale and guts and the flies attracted piss me off. So, what is here will haffi do. Who nuh like…well…do you next best. Have a good Easter, walk, ride and drive safe. Over and out.

Whoa, breaking news about Zeekes. I had no idea he was going to be found guilty. Not because I doubted his culpability, I doubted the Jamaican Justice System. Look at Andem, Adams, et al. I was afraid that the jury would have been somewhat intimiated and come back with an acquittal. That man is simply scary. (I am resolute that when the trial judge collapsed, it was from Zeekes working guzum pan him) Anyway, nice to see the justice system coming through again. I can tentatively invest my faith in it once more. But wait there Doctor, look at that hell of a breakfast. For a split second I thought you were going Ital. But then I saw the Ham and I quickly felt relieved. -) It’s quite a many donkey years since June Plum juice touched my lips. I going to look in some recipe book to see how to make it. But then again, where am I going to get June Plum at this time of year (I know nothing about such stuff). My mother used to be the one to make all of these juices, Passion, Guava, June Plum, Sorrel. Oh sweet Jesus! My mouth start to water already. LOL I have no plans for my holiday other than studying. I want to quickly master the ability to write 3 four-paged essays in 1 1/2 hours. Which is hard for me, because, as you can see, I write nuff. However, it would have been a good escapade to take a trip down to Ochi, and Montego Bay, and maybe even stop off at Faith’s Pen on the way. I usually like the food there (well.. except for one and a half years ago when I was going on a hotel visit and stopped there to get some pork. Oh lord! That pork and my belly had quite a fight and my toilet and I soon became friends very quickly. I had to forfeit things like going in the pool, and simple things like walking. I didn’t want to embarrass myself in Island Village/Margueritaville, which by the way is nice as hell). I’ll just cuddle up inside my house with some Maxfield easter bun, and my Contracts casebook. Enjoy da holidays!

Kaschief- As a college student myself, allow me to share with you the greatest gift the internet has ever given us. http://www.easybib.com/ It prepares your bibliography for you! How cool is that! On the longer papers I write, sometimes its takes longer to get the bibliography done then the paper itself.

Happy Easter, Dr D and everyone. I was thinking of making an Easter bun for the first time. When I told my husband, his response was “why?” I didn’t have a good answer when there are delicious buns out there to buy without the work and the cleaning up!!

Zeeks from Matches Lane make it in the newspaper here too. But y’know, when it come to justice in the Caribbean I won’t be surprised if you see him walking the streets again! Hey, you know that Chris Blackwell thing in Oracabessa…it looks like Georgetown, Guyana, a Guyanese/Jamaican friend told me. The architect took a lot of designs/inspiration from here.

Have a good Easter Pauline. Yes, ho-made bun is nice…but it is plenty work. Pick up your favourite brand…or if you know someone who bakes then you could buy one. MB, I sickened by these ‘different viewpoints’ when it comes to the downfall of Dons. Shyte, these men are practically godlike….dem mek politician fava eediat in the way dem followers vouch for their goodness….dem rahtid infallibile it seems! Cyaan touch dem! I seh…anodda one less. GG’s point is well taken tho!
