Tower Of Babel

Well, it is now according to the computer clock…midnight. I am up sitting here downloading MSN Messenger and it is going to take some time. I have been having some sign in issues and am determinded to remedy it. To my right, within arms reach is a VX and coconut water in one of my favourite glasses.

The place is all quiet, it has been raining lightly for about an hour or so and I feel mellow nuh rass….fret not, this is the one drink I am having tonight, but oddawise I kinda bored right now. Prior to this I was watching TV, but it wasn’t holding me if you get me.

You might have noticed that I didn’t mention anything about the blogger link we had last week. I just hadn’t had the energy or impetus to post anything. It was nice to see Kami again (I last saw her in Vincy when I went there…albeit a short encounter), and met some newcomers…..Gela, Leon and Francis. Shotta M was ‘fashionably late’……whatever that means! Doh feel nuh way Shotta, I jus here a pass time really. (Checks The MSN thing to see that only 25 bloodcleat % downloaded so far! To rahtid!)

What else is up? Well, not a helluva lot, though the weekend was busy and well enjoyed. Portland trip was made as it was the last Saturday of the month. Not bad in terms of patient turnout and I didn’t drive myself. I roped een Jamdown Canadian and got him to be the chauffeur!

Sunday, my high school reunion started….is now twenty five years that I left Fifth Form at George’s to rass! I guess the number of grey silver hairs on my head is testament to the fact that I am no longer a yute….still a rude bwoy doh! We commenced events with a church service at Holy Trinity Cathedral on Sunday at 8:30 AM…(wasn’t cute waking up in time to get ready fe dat!)….immediately followed by a Brunch at the schools auditorium. Well, I can tell you, I got my $500 worth of food. Having left the house with nutten but a cuppa Early Grey tea in the belly, by the time the Mass was over at about 11:15 AM, I man did raw to blurdcleat! Well, I indulged in steamed calaloo, seasoned saltfish…(I passed on the ackee…suppem me nuh nyam at all!), escoveitched fish, roast breadfruit, boiled green banana and some Johnny cakes. As the attendance was a bit less than expected…(twenty of us were there), the caterers told us to indulge. Well, I needed no further encouragement! Left there at about 2 PM.

Stopped to buy some food for dinner as I wasn’t into nuh cooking. You may be wondering how much food this body consumes…..well, actually, I didn’t eat dinner ’till about 6, but had no plans to come home and then hit the road again in order to buy dinner. I won’t get into the details of dinner…all I can say it that it was irie too.

Tomorrow, is Emancipation Day…(Monday next week is Independence Day…somehow I get them mixed up now as in the past we didn’t have Emancipation Day as a holiday) and yours truly nuh deh pon call. So, the plan is to wake late and laze bout de yard in minimal clothing…(a boxer shorts) ’till I hit the road about 12-12:30 as we are supposed to have Lime at our old school. Should be a good way to loaf away part of the day. Anyhow, I am getting a bit long winded here, and this post probably doesn’t amount to more than a lotta hot air, so mek me flash. Enjoy the holiday tomorrow….the locals that is!
