Bizniz and Pleasure….

Posted in General on November 29th, 2006 by Dr. D

Ok, the week is rambling along nicely. Yet another weekend to look forward to when I am not on call…(staff shortage has been eased), so we back to the usual one in three rather than the four months of one in two duty that we were doing.

So, what is up with the title? Well, I suppose at first glance, you may think, how does one get pleasure outta bizniz? Well, for many of us, its our work (bizniz) that provides us with the funds to get pleasure…nuh true? So, that’s one way of looking at it. Looking at the possible sexual side of it (I know seh a dat you all a tink bout)…..in any given work environment, we can meet co-workers (or customers) that we may well end up becoming attracted to and next ting….a ‘meeting’ (if you like) takes place…..

Recently, over a few VXs I was a rap wid a bredrin. He’s a banker. Cool yute. Slack argument and bad wud was a lick…hey, man was beat lika….

He was mentioning that at his office, there was a young girl who was junior (or ‘under’ him if you like)…..that is a pun on words btw. He said on many occasions when she came into his office regarding work related stuff, she would flirt with him, but he simply played innnocent. One evening, he said she came behind his desk, placing a document on it which he was to review, and as she was about to leave the office, she gently placed her hand on his thigh, and stroked his ‘hood’ saying that she would like to get to know him better….

One night, they were both at the office late doing some work and she came into his office, shut the door and long and short of it, tings did gwaan pon de desk. He did not invite any follow up. They would pass in the office like nutten did gwaan.

Time came ’round for appraisals. He was to assess her. He said he gave her an average appraisal, his words were….”Well, she doh phuck bad, but her work wasn’t all that hot, and I had mentioned this to her long before I took the plunge!” He asked me if I thought he was cold. My reply was that I am one that tends to not mix bizniz and pleasure, but if he really thought that she did not deserve a great appraisal, the fact that he and she had got horizontal should not really change anything. What onoo think?

My contriution to get a bit of commentary going. Anyway, gotta go get ready for the bizniz….I wonder if any pleasure a go gwaan in them corners today as well!? smily

Last week in….

…November. Hmmm. Stress. But at the same time all good. Means that the season to be jolly will soon be upon us. Friday is December 1. Already, the shoppers are out like worker ants foraging for food to take back to the nest to satisfy the queen’s appetite. I do have a few gifts to get, though this year the list is somewhat attenuated. And, as one who hates the crowds and madness surrounding shopping centres as the season approaches, I plan to start picking up what stuff is needed this week. I was also thinking that this year I might put the tree up a bit earlier than usual, maybe weekend coming.

I noticed that fresh sorrel is out in the supermarket from a few weeks now. Me stop buy dat couple years now….Tru Juice works well. Also, I think it works out cheaper when you think that you haffi buy de sorrel, water haffi boil fe mek it, sugar and ginger etc. Of course, there would be no jolliness about the season without the ham(s)…I pluralise as it is customary that we kill more than one peice of pork in this household! smily I not blowing my own trumpet, but I not bad at ham at all.

Yesterday, I passed thru the supermarket (place did look too ram on Saturday) and found myself humming along to the carols playing. Perhaps it means that the timing is now appropriate……October was just too early. So much for preparations for the season.

Finishing up breakfast. Sun a shine….first in a few days, I guess the cold front has moved along. Hoping to get the new wheels within a matter of weeks. I guess that will be my present for the season to self. It better reach in time, or I man might a turn Scrooge to rass! Guess I’ll post a pic when it arrives. Anyhow, despite season approaching, work still a gwaan, so back to the grind.

Smack That, Doc!

Hmph… I see where Doctor D. got a little break and was to go to Portland but the rain (thats currently flooding everywhere in Jamaica) mashed up his plan… poor Doc… A so it go. It could be worse, after all, at least you are high and dry.

I also saw where everybody was advising the Doc to go find a nice little dawtah to wrap up with and weather out the storm, but what they don’t know is that the Doc is a busy man! He won’t have time to go out to find any women! On top of that, his taste is highly suspect! He don’t know doll from dog, you dun know! You just have to help some people out, you nuh seet! smily

With all that in mind, I have found three hot girls to give to the Doc. See them below:

Ok, you got me… I just wanted to test out this flash animation site that makes a slideshow for you. Its nice, isn’t it? Click on the button to the right of the animation if you want to make your own slideshow without writing a lick of code.

And Doc, try print off the pictures of these ladies. I know you don’t have much taste, but if you pick up any ladies looking like these I have posted up for you, you won’t go wrong. smily

Doc, I will let Akon tell you what you need to do with the women.

Akon - Smack That

Well, Natty and I just watched Da Vinci Code on DVD. In my opinion, it would have been hard to follow the movie if I hadn’t read the book. I suggest to anybody who hasn’t seen the movie OR bought the book, its better to buy the book than to go to the movie.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and peace be unto you.

Well….

I am here just giving you all a short post…but I really don’t have much to say. I guess however, there are some things to smile about. It is Friday…need I say more? smily It is payday, and new salaries are to become effective today! smily Not sure what the actual increase is, so I am a wee bit interested to see the payslip. I am not on call this weekend, in fact I going Portland tomorrow and not returning ’till Sunday. If any of you planning to pass thru Frenchman’s Cove, you might just glimpse me getting een a likkle R & R.

The weather still continues to be overcast and cool, it is less windy than yesterday, I like it. Anything else to report? Not really, apart from to say TGIF. You all have a good one.

Ole Pirates

This picture was taken on my cell phone, hence the poor quality. Its of the “pirates” just before they were captured and put on trial in George Town last Saturday night.

olepirate.jpg

I finally got around to taking the pictures off my camera and posting them up, and I guess the real impetus behind that was looking at some of the cellie pictures they have posted up at www.pix.ky.

Cable & Worthless is running a competition with these pictures, apparently you can win something. Some of the pictures they have up are quite nice, you might want to go have a look.

Hey, they have this little fete tonight at Margaritaville, they have Alaine here for it, I think she is a pretty good up-and-coming singer and I wouldn’t mind checking her out.

Still, its a bit unlikely that I will go… We’ll see.

When Morgan Heritage reach (early December) NOTHING!!!! will keep me away though!

Thank God its Friday, people… Anyway, mi gone to get ready for work.

Aaah bwoy….

….yes, the week has begun again in earnest. Weekend gone was busy also, though I did manage to get some R & R in, but blogging was not high on the list. All I really did blogwise is prips a few of my favourite peeps and lick one and two comment.

This morning started with me pushing outta de yard from well early. I dropped my cousin Sprigadee to the airport for a 9:40 AM flight. It being a school morning (not an issue for a man who nuh have nuh yute a drop to school yet), I had to leave much earlier than my usual time in order to beat the traffic that will mek any Christian cuss blurdcleat!

Hence, I rose at 5:45 AM, had a cuppa Earl Grey, then a sandwich made with whole wheat pita bread and a slice of turkey. Some grapes, a glass of juice and my vitamins completed it all. Hit the boyz room and did my stuff quickly. Was on the road by 6:50 AM. Met my cuz and headed thru some traffic despite pushing out early. Eventually made it to the airport by 8 or so. Morning looking overcast and rainy….some shytstem over the island. Then made the turnaround to head to work. More traffic. I didn’t get there till 8:50 AM.

Did ward rounds with the rest of the team, then did a lecture which took me just about 50 minutes, dealt with an admission and then, not one, not two, but three referrals to be seen from Casualty. One of dem coulda dealt well with admission, but we had no more beds availabale…ward full. So, outpatient care will have to suffice for the time being. Can I tell you, I did not eat lunch ’till 4 PM today. And being raw nuh rass I decided to treat myself to some Chiney food….a wonton soup and a special warbar. Nice. Did wonders to move a man gas as well…TMI eeh? smily

Made it home at 7 with a headache, and am here having some gungo peas soup (with pigstail of course) for dinner.

Today is actually my Pop’s 69th Birthday. Him and some friends gone dinner and a movie…think is the Bond one. I gave him his present from yesterday in the night….a pretty decent looking sport shirt. I wonder if he wore it? Anyway Dads, I know you won’t be reading here, but Happy 69th Birthday. I wonder if you getting up to anything like you age tonite!? smily

In case you never knew, the opposition greens (JLP) here had big conference yesterday at the Arena. Caught a few minutes of it on the tele, seems the place did cork tite. They looking a bit more organized then before, but I guess time will tell. ‘Course I hear dem a butter up de masses with nuff promise….mortgages and National Health Scheme…..Mout mek fe talk, and talk wins votes. I naw seh dem is any answer, all I know is time for a change IMHO. Anyhow, I kinda tiyad and I rather not write down anymore fart….so I a go hol a fresh and find my resting place and hope that the hospital does not need me tonite. Easy.

Who Fooled Those Fassys?!

Posted in Rants on November 18th, 2006 by Mad Bull

MelGibson_Mugshot_150.jpgSo I was surfing along this morning and I came across an interesting article. The article said that Mel Gibson has been named to a list of the top 50 coldest people in Hollywood, where cold is the opposite of hot! What? smily

The article says that Mel has a new movie out but who cares… Who cares? I care!

So Mel is a bit anti-semitic! So he drank and drove! No one is perfect! We would have hoped that Mel was past the drinking and driving bit, but hopefully its nowhere near a daily practice. As for the anti semitism, so many people are on that list that we really shouldn’t get upset with Mel for that!

Hell, the Jews fall over themselves daily trying to make us all join the anti-semitism bandwagon! Not that I am saying that I am anti-semitic, hell, a Jew saved MBJr.’s life back when he was in his terrible twos! The Jews do have a knack of getting themselves bad press though, you gotta admit it!

I am sure that the guy who wrote the article is a Jew! So probably are the people who voted Mel unto that list in the first place! (the writer and those people who put Mel on that stupid list are the “fassys” referred to in the title!) smily) Louis Farrakhan was right about one thing! The Jews in America are very powerful and they work together to further the interests of the Jews. They are most likely responsible for this list.

Mel Gibson is a great actor, and I will probably watch his new film.

You know, I am willing to bet that we read of Mel being tops in some other list, but at the opposite end of the spectrum, in a year or two!

Mel is a top shotta! Mel is a biggah boss! Mad Bull say so! Oonoo nuh fi forget it either! Awoah! smily

Check out Tessanne!

Posted in Reviews on November 17th, 2006 by Mad Bull

Well, I don’t know about you, but I feel that Tessanne Chynn can sing! I have probably written on this subject before, but if so, well, Tessanne is so nice that I don’t mind writing about her twice! Today I am going to give you a little music courtesy of her, here she is with “Secret Hideaway”!

(Updated: Cho, rass! I just noticed that the song not playing now, you know! It was working earlier, but it ah gimi a major fight inna di morning yah and that nah go mek it! Anyway, you can hear it by going to her MySpace site, I give the link below… I’ll figure this problem out later.)

Jah know, just based on this song alone I would want to hear an album. I wonder when her album ah go drop? She has up more music you can listen to, check out her MySpace site! Tell me what you think.

Have a good day at work, may it pass swiftly and with as little stress as possible and then have a great weekend! May that pass verrryyy slowly! smily

Of course, if you’re very bored over the weekend, let it pass quickly. Whatever floats your boat, zeen?

Bwoy, I plan to get out and about this weekend. I really don’t want to spend it locked up in the house. Not a rass! My advice to you would be for you to get out and about too. Anyway, me gone to get ready for work. Latahz.

waves.jpg

OK, nice Tuesday morning it is, just finishing breakfast before hitting the boyz room to prepare to head out. Yesterday evening, I wasn’t on call, had no private practice and so I had an early afternoon. Decided to go walking, first in about three weeks and then tried my hand at cooking some lobster. Basically did the meat with some garlic, onions, blackpepper, sprinkling of salt, and a touch of soya sauce. Wasn’t exactly restaurant style, but did the trick with some scalloped potatoes with grated cheddar cheese and some steamed veggies. A few glasses of Chardonnay made it even better…..btw, for those who don’t know, it irie nuh rass to have some wine while man inna de kitchen rustlin’ up some grub. Went bed at ’bout 10:30 and slept well…usually is the case after a good walk.

Well, the pic above is another one I took while in Bim…if I remember correctly it is of the west coast. If you can make it out, the likkle dots in the water are actually the heads of some dudes that were swimming/surfing…them waves were pretty large. Not sure if I had mentioned, but the Tuesday nite that we arrived, a drug company offered to take about five of us out to dinner…at their expense. So, off we went to AQUA. OOOHH LA LA! Very nice setting, right on the beach. As you enter, the bar greets you, has blue lights behind it and there is a frosted peice of perspex/glass in front of the bar. Nice. Eventually, we were escorted to our table upstairs which overlooks the sea. Lights from the restaurant shine into the blue waters. No need for any AC….

Now, after being served Evian and merlot (which turned out to be limited edition to blurdcleat!)…the waiter took us through the appetizers. See, when almost everything on the menu has a word or two that ‘ordinary’ people like myself have to be asking….’what is that?’…on it, you done know. Eventually, I settled an a seafood thingy which was nice. And for the main, I had a another mixed seafood asian curry. Forgot what I had for dessert.

We were all intrigued by the appearance of ‘curry ice cream’ on the menu and asked if we could have one scoop simply to try it. So, we did. We each took a smalls of the scoop of this strangely flavoured ice cream. Now, its not sweet at all, and essentially the ice melts in your mouth and then, boom! This absolutely disgusting uncooked curry flavour hits you…..it disgusting nuh rass! We all thought it was awful. The waiter says he personally finds it horrible as well, but he says there are folks who come there sometimes simply to have curry ice cream for dessert….weird!

I must have had about five glasses of the vino, it was excellent and so was the buzz. All I can say is that I was happy that is not me wuz a pay de bill……thanks to the company again for hosting us in fine stylee. Anyhow, it is time to flash.

I am going to end on a different note. Sad it is to see that this kinda crap is still happening in our country. These wrongdoers respect nobody, not even members of the clergy. Is there any hope in sight for Jamaica? Rass bwoy! I gone.
