Bizniz and Pleasure….
Ok, the week is rambling along nicely. Yet another weekend to look forward to when I am not on call…(staff shortage has been eased), so we back to the usual one in three rather than the four months of one in two duty that we were doing.
So, what is up with the title? Well, I suppose at first glance, you may think, how does one get pleasure outta bizniz? Well, for many of us, its our work (bizniz) that provides us with the funds to get pleasure…nuh true? So, that’s one way of looking at it. Looking at the possible sexual side of it (I know seh a dat you all a tink bout)…..in any given work environment, we can meet co-workers (or customers) that we may well end up becoming attracted to and next ting….a ‘meeting’ (if you like) takes place…..
Recently, over a few VXs I was a rap wid a bredrin. He’s a banker. Cool yute. Slack argument and bad wud was a lick…hey, man was beat lika….
He was mentioning that at his office, there was a young girl who was junior (or ‘under’ him if you like)…..that is a pun on words btw. He said on many occasions when she came into his office regarding work related stuff, she would flirt with him, but he simply played innnocent. One evening, he said she came behind his desk, placing a document on it which he was to review, and as she was about to leave the office, she gently placed her hand on his thigh, and stroked his ‘hood’ saying that she would like to get to know him better….
One night, they were both at the office late doing some work and she came into his office, shut the door and long and short of it, tings did gwaan pon de desk. He did not invite any follow up. They would pass in the office like nutten did gwaan.
Time came ’round for appraisals. He was to assess her. He said he gave her an average appraisal, his words were….”Well, she doh phuck bad, but her work wasn’t all that hot, and I had mentioned this to her long before I took the plunge!” He asked me if I thought he was cold. My reply was that I am one that tends to not mix bizniz and pleasure, but if he really thought that she did not deserve a great appraisal, the fact that he and she had got horizontal should not really change anything. What onoo think?
My contriution to get a bit of commentary going. Anyway, gotta go get ready for the bizniz….I wonder if any pleasure a go gwaan in them corners today as well!? 
November 29th, 2006 at 10:27 am That’s why it is discouraged, forbidden and grounds for dismissal when office romances develop. IMHO though, he should assess her work based on her true performance and not how well she f**ked him or gave him a blow job. If she want to get vex, then that’s her business and proof that thi nuh ready fi di office romance ting at all. Now, I’m not saying it couldn’t work but both persons would have to be very professional about it and keep work at work, and the romance at home. I know lots of guys though who’s fantasy is to f**k on their desk at work. Sense of danger I suppose. It’s not really a bad idea still. I could see myself doing that if I got an opportunity and I was sure I wouldn’t get caught!!
November 29th, 2006 at 10:55 am I’m not sure what the laws on sexual harassment are in Jamaica, but this guy is playing with fire. Of course she should be judged solely on her job performance. In the US, under the circumstances, if she gets a job evaluation below what she expects, she could file an harassment claim against him. Her argument would likely be she couldn’t reject his sexual advances because he’s her boss and she was afraid of losing her job if she didn’t comply. When she decided to discontinue the relationship he gave her a poor evaluation, etc. Happens all the time and such employees can walk away with big bucks! Never a good idea to go there.

Her actions say she is scheming, why think that is limited to getting buddy? how about to getting ahead at work as well? She can bawl rape, sexual harassment all kinda ting… I hope he assessed her performance honestly.

She know dat appraisal time coming up soon and she probably know that she not up to par, so she took it upon herself tuh throw de punnany at de fella. He jump and take de bait… So now comes appraisail. if she doan like wha he write, she got all rights tuh cry he sexualy molested or worst yet, raped her…How he gonna deny de accusations? It’s his word against hers. Tood bad many wimmen haffa go that route, but ley we hope de fella learn he lesson. seems like he got a lot to loose. Doan mix work wid pleasure

But, I wonder how he woulda put dat on de appraisal….perhaps… ‘She goes to ‘great length’ to ensure that all matters pertaining to her work that ‘arise’ are dealt with in a timely manner….and is quite willing to do overtime to ensure this….on account of this I recognize that she has excellent skills a team ‘player’. She easily grasps ‘hard’ concepts that are ‘introduced’ to her and she should be at the ‘head’ of the list of those staff ‘members’ slated for promotion. I look forward to working ‘in depth’ with her on future projects which I am asked to ‘head’!
