Shaggy’s New Video

Posted in Entertaining on December 28th, 2006 by Mad Bull

Hey, what do you think of Shaggy? All washed up? Naw sah. It doesn’t look that way. He has out a new video, its quite interesting. Watch Shaggy’s new video, Church Heathen nuh?

What I want to know is:

1) Where is that church? Its quite pretty. It reminds me of the church I used to go to in Stony Hill, except for the stained glass windows…

2) Which pastor would allow a dancehall video to be shot in his church? It Must be one of those money-grabbing pastors, nuh true?

A quickie…

Indeed, that is what this Christmas Day seemed like to me. I have never seen one that was over so quickly. When one considers all the effort put into this one day, it does make you wonder if it is really worth it. Actually, it is. I don’t know of a time of year that I enjoy more…people seem nicer and happier (if that is just a facade then a jus so…)…seems to me that the food at our house on Christmas Day does taste better…..or is that an illusion as well?

Nevertheless, most of my quickie Christmas was spent here at home. I actually made it to midnight mass on Christmas Eve. Mass finished at 2:10 AM. At the end of that, one of the peeps I went with invited us for ham sandwiches. After eating and chatting a bit, the next thing I knew it was 3:30 AM. So, I drove home and decided to open my presents before going to bed. Got some nice things….cologne (X2), a shirt, a picture frame, a wind chime, chocolates, Morgan Heritage CD (nice nuh rass). I won’t bother to mention the stuff I got myself. Went to bed at 4 AM. Planned to wake at about 9:30, but the phone started at about 8:30. Had our small Christmas dinner…total of eight or nine people. Menu? Ham, roasted chicken, curry goat, rice and peas, macaroni and cheese, steamed vegetables, tossed salad. Was good. Dessert was Christmas cake and a scoop of ice cream.

At about 8PM, passed thru a sistren’s house for two drinks and a slice of cake then came back here to meet some peeps who were passing by for drinks. That’s how it went until the day ended somewhere ’round 1:15 AM. Lots of laughter and good times shared.

Not really sure why I am going into all this detail……but anyway. How was yours?

I note that posting is scarce in the blog circle. I understand that. I not too sure how much y’all will see of me in 2007 either. And, as I mention ‘07, may the New Year bring you health, wealth, happiness and the love of God, family and friends. (That was just in case I nuh type nutten else here before the month is over.)

It Ends Tonight, It Ends Tonight, It Ends Tonight!

Bwoy, everytime I go to Governor’s Beach I pause to hold a little lust lyme over the condos in the picture to the left. I wish I had the money to own one of those condos so I could live right there on Seven Mile Beach. Then I could get up every morning and go for a brisk swim before getting ready and heading out to work. I am sure that would put a much brighter spin on things, don’t you agree?

Of course, when hurricane set up, I need to have another residence somewhere in the neighbourhood I live in right now, or over in Beach Bay or something, where things don’t flood out (or at least, where they are less likely to flood out!) smily

Anyway, you can click on the picture to get a bigger, better view of the condos if you like.

Nothing too deep right now… just some idle chatter, thats sometimes a good thing, isn’t it? I tell you what… I am going to give you a little list of things that are going on now that I am happy about, seen?

Some things I am thankful for right now:

My son has finally started to read books! We gave him a book called “Goosebumps - Egg Monsters from Mars” by R. L. Stines for Christmas and he has almost finished it already! This will be the first book that he has read off all on his own! I hope this is the beginning of a trend! I was a reader myself, all us Bulls were… Its fun to see him enjoying the book, still.

I just went outside to get something and noticed that the back tire on Natty’s car was pretty low. I was thankful it wasn’t flat though! I drove up to the Miss Lorna’s Texaco by Bodden Town and I put some air in the tire. I am going to monitor it for a bit and see how fast its losing air. If its pretty fast, I will take a drive down to Jose’s gas station by the Airport and see if the tire guys are there working. If they are, at least I won’t have to change the tire! Trust me, the jack for Natty’s car works but it takes so long to hoist the car to a point where you can change the tire, its not funny! I am thankful I noticed the tire problem before it was completely flat or I’d definitely have to have changed the tire myself. smily

I am so thankful that I am not a person who works at a gas station! Yow, they are ALWAYS working! Shit, on Christmas Day, the ONLY things that were open as far as I could see were the gas stations! Thats crap, star! I enjoy my work most times but love my time off too, you know!

Two things I am sad about right now:

Its raining right now and the whole place is cloudy… I was hoping to go to the beach again today… Anyway, maybe I will get lucky and the clouds will blow over by about 4:00pm and the sea won’t be too rough… keep your fingers and toes crossed for me, zeen?

Secondly, tonight this wonderful little break away from work will come to an end! It was pretty cool still, even though we didn’t have family near… smily

At least theres only three days to go through before we can do it all over again! smily

Hey, you know which talk show host I am feeling right now? Tyra Banks! I have watched about two episodes of her show now and I was pleasantly surprised. I was never a real fan of Tyra, but now that I see her on her talk show, I am becoming a fan fi real! She comes across like she is really a nice person on the inside, not just on the outside, you know? Hopefully thats not just a front. If it is, she is also a good actress! I quite like her. Big up, Tyra!

A Christmas Gift!

You know what? I just had this cool idea! Check this out. For some unknown reason, I have this weird desire to maintain three blogs and I don’t write to them every day, so what happens is that you, my readers tend to miss out on a post here and there… I know thats a major problem for you ) , after all, I have had a few readers ask me why I do the multiple blog thing. They say it can be a drag to go check all three blogs, you know? “Why not just stick to one blog?”, asked that awesome hottie, Cool Destiny.

Well, I don’t know why! I think I have come up with an idea that will satisfy both you and me, however! I am going to build a PHP page which will redirect you to whichever blog I last posted something on. I will put that PHP page at http://www.madbull4.net/, so if you go there, you will always see my latest post! No more need to go clicking through all my blogs to find my latest and greatest! All you have to do is remember to go to http://www.madbull4.net/ instead of going directly to http://www.madbull4.net/wordpress/ or to http://www.madbull4.net/tower/ or to http://madbull.wordpress.com/.

Doesn’t that make you guys happy? I know it makes me happy, at least it does today! )

Let me know what you think of this, you know! If you don’t like it, I will revert to how things were previously. Having thought up this idea, I am off to build it! You guys go and make sure that the link you have to my blog points to http://www.madbull4.net/, ok?! Merry Christmas, everybody! )
Incidentally, I have written another post written today, yes, its most unusual, I know. You can CHECK THAT POST OUT BY CLICKING HERE. Peace and love.

Bald head dread!

Posted in General on December 21st, 2006 by Dr. D

Well, you might be wondering what is up with the title? Well, I naw tell nuh lie….over the weekend, the doctor on call (who was not I an I for a change) had a dread referred to our service. Man has what appears to be an autoimmune blistering condition of the skin called Pemphigus foliaceus. Now, this type of thing does affect the scalp also. Friday evening last week, while sipping on some choice spirit, my cell rang….it was my colleague who was admitting the man. She explained the case to me and I gave her a few pointers, saying that she sounded like she was on the right track regarding her diagnosis and management plan.

She then goes on to say that there is a slight problem as she really cannot make an appraisal of how bad the scalp is involved because of the heaviness of the dread’s locks. So I said to her, leave it for now, but if things get iffy, we may have to discuss cutting them as it will be most difficult for us to get any topical treatment on his scalp.

Lo and behold, Monday morning on the ward round I saw what she meant. The locks were well matted and ‘weighty’! They were about a yard long. Anyway, as we were about to leave his bed he told us that he had made a decision, “I am going to cut my locks off Docs!” smily We were pretty much in shock by such news. “Four of my bredrins are coming to assist me with the job!” And indeed, the trim was done. Man said it took him twenty years to grow his adornment…..when we saw the state of the underlying scalp, we were happy about his decision…..things did not look good. Anyway, we have started treating him pretty aggressively and he is looking much better already. So, we have created a bald head dread…..but somehow he doesn’t seem to mind…..”It can grow back” was his remark. “If it mean that mi locks have to go for mi health….den a jus so!” smily

So what else a gwaan? Well, the season is upon us, and what I refer to as the ‘gridlock’ is in full swing. The plazas are crazy. But, I laughing a hearty “Ho Ho Ho” like Santa…cause me done! Anyway, I going get ready for work, today being a rather important day as my bank account is supposed to be blessed with that thing called salary this morning. Tomorrow, I and I shall be loafing as I have applied for a day of Departmental leave! I been invited to a session tonite, so I shall be rising later than usual tomorrow. Ham going bake tomorrow evening and ting. To all those who may pass through here, Merry Christmas and may God grant you all the best of health, wealth and prosperity in 2007. The blogging interaction has been wonderful…I just wish I had more time and energy for it. Peace.

The New Me!

Posted in Entertaining on December 20th, 2006 by Mad Bull

Yes, rude bwoy. Did I mention that I have turned over a new leaf? Yeh man! I am not getting any younger, so I have decided that I need to take better care of what I have got!

I have cut way back on the drinking and I am watching what I eat. I have gotten rid on the moustache (its been gone since August) and I have even been going to the gym since the beginning of December.

This lifestyle change has worked wonders! Campfyah, Afrodite and others have been complaining that I never post pictures of men for them to lust at, but this time I have decided to make an exception! Ladies, I give you…….

Random Friday thoughts….

Posted in General on December 15th, 2006 by Dr. D

Bwoy, this blogger nuh really have much to write about lately. Maybe a true indication that the time for this scribbling on the internet to cease is nigh….

Well, yet another Friday is here. Give thanks for that. I made sure to fix the December rota leaving me off call every Friday for the month. After all, me name rass Senior! smily Tonight, the trusted crew from my high school class will be linking each other to share Christmas spirit. We haven’t linked since we had the reunion in August. When we do meet, it usually is an enjoyable affair, so let the lika, jokes and ribbing flow! smily

Yesterday, there was much query going around in our unit as to the date for payday this month. Normally, they pay about the 17th or 18th in December. So, trusty me decided to shout the lady in charge of Payroll. I called her extension……she answered, but didn’t sound much like she wished to be bothered. So, I greeted her and wished her Merry Christmas when it comes. She thanked me. I then asked her, “How you sound so? You doh sound like Christmas at all!” She chuckled and said that there was nuff work in her department to finish regarding payroll. I said to her that she should just do what she has to do. Which leads me to the real purpose for the call……”What date do we get paid this month?” “Thursday 21st Doc!” So, I started to laugh, asking if they couldn’t pay us any later inna de month……(I was being sarcastic!) Anyhow, I thanked her for the information and spread the word. Now, is a good ting seh mi account nuh dry, otherwise, shopping for the holiday season would get cancelled, or I would haffi join the gridlock madness in the plazas with the last minuters….nope, not I. I man almost done…I will be smiling to myself when I see the irate people in the traffic jams trying to get into plaza and find parking space.

We suppose to get we hams today. So, I will have to do some baking next week, probably Thursday. A bredrin also asked me to do his for him. I told him it would be my pleasure….for a fee of course! Is joke me a mek man. Saw an article in one of the newspapers about ham baking. They made a grave error saying that the peice o pork must bake ONE HOUR per pound! Frig dat! If it bake one hour per pound, it a go dry up and if you lucky, you get bone. The ham is to be baked FIFTEEN minutes per pound. And dah man yah talking from nuff years of experience.

Did my last private practice for the year last night. Makes no sense going last two weeks in the year….nobody comes…..everybody energy (and money) focused on merriment. Docta is the last ting pon dem mind.

Anyway, nutten more to seh but TGIF. Enjoy.

The Kind Blonde

Posted in Funny on December 14th, 2006 by Mad Bull

Okay, time for a joke.

A blond lady motorist was about two hours from San Diego when she was flagged down by a man whose truck had broken down. The man walked up to the car and asked, “Are you going to San Diego ?”

“Sure,” answered the blonde, “do you need a lift?”

“Not for me. I’ll be spending the next three hours fixing my truck. My problem is I’ve got two chimpanzees in the back which have to be taken to the San Diego Zoo. They’re a bit stressed already so I don’t want to keep them on the road all day. Could you possibly take them to the zoo for me? I’ ll give you $100 for your trouble.”

“I’d be happy to,” said the blonde. So the two chimpanzees were ushered into the back seat of the blonde’s car and carefully strapped into their seat belts. Off they went.

Five hours later, the truck driver was driving through the heart of San Diego when suddenly he was horrified!! There was the blonde walking down the street and holding hands with the two chimps, much to the amusement of a big crowd.

With a screech of brakes he pulled off the road and ran over to the blonde. What the heck are you doing here?” he demanded, “I gave you $100 to take these chimpanzees to the zoo.”

“Yes, I know you did,” said the blonde,” but we had money left over—so now we’re going to Sea World. smily

Funny, huh?

Latah!
