A Jamaican lady pregnant with twins was in a car accident and went into a coma. During the coma she gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl.
Some time later when she awoke from the coma, she was told that she had given birth and that her brother had been nice enough to name them.
The mother was extremely upset to hear this. She told the nurse that they never should have let her brother name the children because he was an idiot from the country.
The nurse assured her that he had done rather well; he named the little girl “Denise”. The mother seemed to be okay with that, so she asked what he had named her son. The nurse replied, “Denephew”.

This one comes your way courtesy of the Chocolate Lover. In payment, check out the sistren’s site nuh… I don’t really like leaving you without anything from me personally, so I decided to give you my answers to last Fridays’ Friday Feast.

Appetizer
If you could take lessons to learn any musical instrument, which would you want to learn?
I was going to say a drum machine, but after careful consideration, I think I will go with the steel drum.

Soup
Have you ever mistaken a person for someone else?
Uh huh. More than once, actually. Yes, I am human D
The worst one probably was when I went to visit my girllfriend one time. She always used to wear these short shorts and sit on the couch in the living room. Anyway, on the day in question, I came through the fron door and there she was, in her short shorts and sitting on the couch waiting on me to arrive. Seems like while she was waiting, she had fallen asleep. I decided to creep up to her quietly and awaken her with a long, lusty, very wet, kiss. I bent at the hips and turned my face sideways as I moved down to kiss her awake. As I was moving in for the kill, (seriously, I was about four inches away from contact, I realised that this was not my girlfriend, but her mom! o Man, I backpedalled so fast I nearly fell on my ass!

Yeah, she and her mom looked a lot alike and they were shaped alike too, trust me!

Salad
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how well do you keep secrets?
Maybe I am a seven… still, if I feel it is really worthy of being a secret, if anybody finds out is not me! Ah mus’ you, because I not telling NOBAHDEE!!!

Main Course
What’s the closest you’ve ever been to a dangerous animal?
Well, I have stood up right next to a lion, but it was behind some really thick glass (at Busch Gardens), so that doesn’t count. Hmmm… Well, if you accept that pit bulls are dangerous, I have stood beside several… I have even patted a couple.

Dessert
When was the last time you lost your patience?
Probably too long ago… it was Christmas 2005, actually. I blew up on a security guard at the airport who passed his place with me. When he then told me that he wouldn’t let me board the flight, I told him that if I didn’t board the flight, NOBODY was going to board it! I was ready to attack the man, rasta… Lucky for me the Air Jamaica Customer Service Manager overruled him. (He knew I was in the right) I am glad still, because if he hadn’t intervened, the best I could hope for was that I’d have missed my flight, and the worst was a short stay in Northward Prison, so…
Still I fear that another eruption of impatience, anger, rage and truculence is near… its bubbling up, just below the surface, like molten lava… who knows when the pressure will get the better of me? Who knows who will be the victim? Who knows if we’ll both survive?

Nothing Special to Say

Yeah, I know I’m a little late, cho, cut me some slack! I didn’t have much time to look through to select a picture for you all tonight, I was watching Gridiron Gang instead. Nice movie… Hell, it made me tear up more than once! It was predictable, but still it was nice, and it WAS based on a true story, so there has got to be something in it, man. I decided to post this picture because there is just something about it I like… This is the open land next door me, about two weeks after it was bushed. You see how the place verdant and green and start to grow up high already? We got some good soil up here, baby!

By the way, when the media decide to push something, they can make things look really bad, can’t they? Check this out….

Anyway, time for bed, so me gone. Sleep tight, don’t let the bedbugs bite.

Stiff!

Posted in General on January 23rd, 2007 by Dr. D

Now, those of you who know me well enough may be wondering if I am referring to my manhood as being stiff….sorry to disappoint the ladies but it isn’t (at least not at the moment!) OK, so what am I trying to get across to you all? For some strange reason, since about 11:30 AM today, the right side of my jaw (in the region of the masseter muscle…the one that you use for chewing) is painful and stiff. It hurt nuh rass for me to have my lunch today….some healthy BBQ KFC with cole slaw. Chewing is painful and difficult. Is not a tooth problem….jus went dentist last week Monday and had mi teeth cleaned and all else seemed Ok. I was watching it initially to see if it would guweh…but it hasn’t. So, I got a colleague to write me a script for some Voltaren (Diclofenac) SR 75mg bd, and I took that along with two Beserol (a muscle relaxer mixed with Paracetamol) and had that with my dinner…which luckily happened to be chicken soup. I could hardly chew the solid stuff in the soup. I hope things feel less stiff in a while or I man a go start get worried….(one of the few times I can think of a man wanting to not be stiff eeh?) Anyhow…I hope that I will see some improvement in a while….

Had the displeasure of driving on South Camp Road last week Thursday to go to private practice. Seems it has been dug up to lay pipes (there I go again…) for the upcoming World Cup Cricket (a sport that doh too thrill me) but the road has been reduced to a dirt track and dustbowl. It took me all of ten minutes to make it to turn left on to Windward Road and this was in the Skyline: there was no traffic (I suppose all who knew about the state of the road avoided it). Now, the reason I went that way is ’cause of the ‘ruption that was a gwaan with rival gangs near the end of Mountain View Raod the day before. So, as one man who really nuh have plans to find out how stray shot (or any shot for that matter) feel, I took South Camp Road as an alternative. Naw go deh Thursday dis week doh…..suppose you saw the dust on the cyar when I reached the office…and the vehicle did jus done wash! Aaah bwoy. I hope the road will be restored to some semblance of order before March…or it will be a national embarressment!

Re my wheels…..vehicle was finally cleared from the wharf today…apparently there is now a whole heap of red tape involved that did not exist previously…..rude yute called to say that the vehicle looks kriss. So, I will have to be looking about paperwork between regular work tomorrow, so that I can have her ready to tour by Friday nite of this week….with all documentation in place. Keeping fingers, toes and other appendages crossed! -)

Other than that, I been aite, been having some good days at work, most of my patients (public and private) are doing well, so that at the end of the day, I man feel seh me mekkin a difference….it does help to give you some impetus to go to work……plus, today was payday….so there was that to look forward to as well.

Bwoy, I been typing for about fifteen minutes or so, and this jaw still feel stiffish and a bit painful…maybe I shudda go hol a lay down or watch some TV for a while…least it may help to take my mind off it. OK, off to destiff….

More time….

Yow, I here a cuss rass! I had just finished typing a post (was on the last rahtid sentence) and I lost it! I too tiyad to go through typing it again. So, hear wah! More time.

What People are Talking About in England (and India too)

Posted in Interesting Stuff, Thoughtful on January 22nd, 2007 by Mad Bull

I first heard of it on Z99, on their morning program, the Breakfast Buzz. They have this English woman on the Breakfast Buzz and she was commenting about the issue with Celebrity Big Brother and Silpa Shetty.

Apparently Big Brother is something like MTV’s Real World, where they stick a bunch of people from different places, with different lifestyles, values and desires together in a house where they have to live together for some long period of time. Why in the world anyone would find such a program of interest is sort’ve beyond me, but shows of this nature have been around for some time now, so I guess people do indeed enjoy them.

Now Celebrity Big Brother is the same thing as Big Brother, but the people on Celebrity Big Brother are people who have some claim to fame, and I guess they are trying to jumpstart their career again by going on the Celebrity Big Brother show. Anyway, in Celebrity Big Brother, one of the people in the house was Silpa Shetty, a famous Bollywood star. See her picture here:

Apparently some of the white English women who were also on the program were abusing Silpa. They taunted her about whether she lived in a hut, treated her rather badly, called her a dog, wouldn’t eat any food that she had touched, etc. Also it seems like they were ganging up on her, they reduced her to tears several times. Their behaviour seems to have created a storm of protest and the whole thing became an international incident, even involving the British Prime Minister and the Indian Prime Minister!

I did a quick search on Youtube myself, I found a couple of clips, you could give them a look see for yourself if you are that way inclined. Here is one clip, here is another, and here is a third. There are a whole lot more where these clips came from too.

The woman on Z99 said that when she watched the clips on Youtube, she felt most ashamed of the behaviour of the English women. I read at the Chief Lymer’s blog that “there has been a record number of complaints – 7,600 - from the public as the taunts have been racist in nature. Channel 4 where the programme is aired, has received a further 2,000 e-mails and calls.”. The woman from Z99 also said that Silpa said (in the Diary Room) that she didn’t think that the whole thing was really caused by racism. Personally, I think Silpa is just very non-confrontational, thats why she said that. It seems to me that lots of Indians are too non-confrontational, based upon those I have met and worked with here in Cayman and in Jamaica. What I would really have liked to see was Silpa losing it and punching a couple of the English women in the face! After all, what I saw on those clips looks like it could all have been sorted with a few well placed kicks and thumps! (Mark you, Silpa would’ve had to have been a rough customer, because she was outnumbered and I am sure that those girls would have ganged up on her). Anyway, Silpa comes across as being WAY too ladylike for that sort of thing.

The Chief Lymer has written an interesting little post on the subject, y’all should go read it, it gives you her impression on the state of racism in England (and she dehdeh ah experience it daily so she qualified to talk)and what she has drawn from this whole incident. It makes interesting reading.

There were other posts at Mad Bull’s Blog and at El Toro Loco, so go give those sites a check too. TTYL.

I know a guy who wants a Civic… perhaps he is not focussed upon this particular model right now, but I feel pretty sure that he would love one just like this still! Owen, this one is for you! I hope you are able to get one JUST like this in 2007! Of course, I also hope you get it in a hotter colour, like black, or red or gold… I also hope that you thoroughly enjoy the car but at the same time, you don’t end up ah bend it up.

Interesting Sign!

Now here is an interesting sign! I don’t believe I have seen one like this before, have you? I wonder if this sign is an “only-in-Cayman” sort of thing? Actually, there is a home for the elderly just around the corner from where this sign is. I guess they take the old folk out for walks and it is better to be safe than sorry. This is Day 4 of the photo project.

A Photo A Day for 365 Days

Posted in Photo Project, Interesting Stuff on January 15th, 2007 by Mad Bull

I am considering embarking on a project I have seen others doing on their blogs. Its all about me posting a photo a day for 365 days. I believe that for the purposes of this project, all these photos should be taken by me or should be of me or at the very least, they should be taken by my camera. Of course, since I have three blogs now I am going to be placing the pictures on different blogs, but all you have to do is go to each of my sites daily to ensure you don’t miss any of the pictures. Thats not that hard, now is it. D

I am not SWEARING that I will keep it up for the 365 days, but we’ll see… On to today’s picture.

My son has a school project. He has to do research and hand in a paper on East End, a district in Grand Cayman. Natty, MBJr. and I therefore went forth yesterday afternoon to glean information and to shoot photos in East End. Here we were at a site which is on the Cayman Maritime Heritage Trail, its called the Site of the Wreck of the Ten Sails. Apparently 213 years ago on February 8th, 1794, ten sailing ships foundered on the reef just offshore there. As you can see, not only sailing ships have foundered there over the years. That is the brass propellor of some ship that was sunk in the same spot many years later, can’t remember the details now, but it wasn’t a sailing ship. There is MBJr. getting the prop on film, and I just decided to capture him capturing the prop, just for fun! D

Here’s hoping this project runs its course and that you all enjoy it.

Good news for the day: I’m alive and its a beautiful day.
Bad news so far today: my coffee percolator is on the blink. (

Yow, for all you people who don’t check blogs on the weekends, there is fresh content at the Mad Bull’s Blog and at Toro Loco as well. Check them out and have a great Monday, people!

Updated: Here is the next photo in the project.
