So, is there an afterlife or not?
So, do you believe in life after death or not? Some time ago, the father of a friend of Natty and I died after a long, harrowing illness. When her father became ill, she moved back home to help her mother to take care of him (you ever notice how its always the daughters who get stuck with that job? All men who have only sons, you done know that when you get sick, you will have to have nurses to take care for you, right?). Anyway, she was there to watch her father deteriorate. He had been a hale and hearty man, and she watched him as he lost a tremendous amount of weight. She was badly affected by the whole experience.
Sometime after her father died, her mother sold the house where she and her husband had lived. At the time when the house was sold, the phone number at the house, 925-8175, was disconnected.
About a month ago, Natty left her cell phone at home and went out. While she was out, she received a call, so when she checked through the call log, guess which phone number she saw? Yup! 925-8175. She tried calling it a number of times but only received a recording saying that the number was out of service. She didn't know what to make of it, but eventually she forgot about it... until today! Yessir, today, she left the phone at home again, and when she was checking the missed calls, out jumps that number again - 925-8175! Again, she tried to call the number, with a similar result - this time, it was that fast busy signal that indicates that the number you've called is not a valid number.
She went to visit with our friend this evening, and she says that she never mentioned it to our friend, but the friend told her that she "had asked her father to give her some sign that he's alright, wherever he was." Natty immediately said to her "See your sign here!" and showed her the phone, and explained the sequence of events that have occurred. Our friend has accepted this as her sign... What do you think?

If anyone was going to have this experience it would be Natty - attracter of all supernatural forces! I think I do believe in the afterlife _ Bro - you know of other similar experiences - including one right after our brother died - with Mom - I think, though, that like most people, i am afraid of things I don't fully understand, so am uncomfortable with this kind of experience - it makes me unsettled and uneasy - aka "FRAID!"
Anyway, I do hope your friend felt some comfort from this experience - I know the one our Mom had after our brother's death made us all feel like he was finally 'at peace'.

I'm not too sure what to think about the phone number thing. In response to your question of whether there is a life after death. I do believe there is, I think I have made a post about this already. In essence, it is all a matter of faith in the same way that some people believe in a Supreme Being and others do not. When all is said and done, however, I guess we will never really know until we make the transition ourselves. Until such time comes, my philosophy is to enjoy this life to the fullest! Respec!

I believe there is life after death...for various reasons. I've done some regression work and became aware of past events. I'm not convinced that it "proves" there's an afterlife, however the insights gained have been valuable when interacting with various people in this life.
As far as the phone number... Truth is sometimes stranger than any fiction ever invented. ;)

With some reservation I have to admit I have had encounters with ghosts or spirits. I don't like to talk about it, when doing so it opens a door. I have seen objects be thrown across a room at a person before.
My family experienced a traveling smell of cigar burning on holidays and special anniversaries over 20 years after my grandfather pasted away. No one smoked cigars but him.Believe it or not.

Shelli's experiences sound quite ominous. What was the name of that Stephen Spielberg movie again, with the very short lady who acted as the medium?

The name of the movie just came back to me, it was Poltergeist that I was referring to.

that is very spooky indeed. i would think of it as a sign that there is still some sort of lingering psychic energy, quite a strong force.
comforting thought.

That totally gave me goosebumps! I'm a believer, but I don't want to be. LOL Does that make sense? I think if something like that happened to me, I'd be seriously wigged, but at the same time, I love hearing stories about it.
