Thanksgiving in Turkey?

There are quite a few events going on today that are of interest to me. One was the Reggae Marathon in Negril. This is the second year that they are putting on this event. Actually there is a marathon and a half marathon. It was supposed to have been run this morning at 5:00AM, so we should know who has won by now. I went to the Reggae Marathon Website, but they haven't thought to update it. Silly, huh? I wonder who won, and how well the people that I know who took part in it have done?
Also going on today (and tomorrow, actually) is the JMC / Petcom International Motor Rally put on by the Jamaica Motoring Club. Apparently some of the stages will be near by (in Portmore), who knows, maybe I'll go and watch them for a lark. Past experience with rallys suggests that what you see will be interesting, but you won't see too much of it unless you follow the rally as it takes place across the island, and following the rally is a bit too "gung ho" for me. It can be interesting though... I remember watching part of one that went through New Kingston. It was awesome to watch as the drivers threw their cars around corners, with just as much movement sideways as forwards. Awesome! Then there was the driver who decided to go straight at the corner of Grenada Crescent, and straight into the wall by Island Car Rentals he went! Luckily he was ok, but he never finished that rally, poor sod!
Last but not least, also on today was the finals for the Miss World Beauty Pageant. Miss Turkey won, and apparently Miss Jamaica didn't appear among the finalists! WE WAS ROBBED!!!
Naw, I'm just kidding
. At least two other Caribbean countries numbered among the semi-finalists, namely Curacao and Aruba. Big up to the ladies from those countries! Actually, I don't have a problem with the judges' choice, Ms. Turkey is lovely, isn't she?
Later, all.

I've stopped following beauty contests. One can never really tell who it is they are looking for. Anyhow, Miss Turkey is good looking. Too bad for Danielle ohayon, I guess she wasn't the girl they were after, who knows???
I know a doc. who was taking part in the marathon. if I see him at work tomorrow perhaps he can give me some feedback.

Uh-oh! I just heard on the evening news that an American runner ran in the marathon and collapsed and died shortly after finishing...
I also heard that the winner of the Rally was Jeffrey Panton. He seems to be one of the best locally. This is his fifth rally win, apparently...
