Miscellaneous Bull
I dropped by Dr. D's earlier today and noticed that he had posted an entry which began by saying "TGIF", and that is when it hit me... Today was Friday! You sure can lose track of time when you're on vacation, can't you. I'm sorry you all can't be here enjoying your vacations with me. Poor souls... having to go in to work on such a glorious day... (* sigh *)
Anyway, let me laugh at you all while I can, because someday I too will rejoin the workforce.
Hey, don't feel too badly, my day was not as perfect as it could have been. We've had to endure not one but TWO power outages today
Trust me, it is so damned aggravating, not to mention that the outages may very well wreck my 'puter. You know I leave the PC on all the time now, since the advent of the DSL line, so you also know that both outages occurred with my PC on. If this kind of crap keeps up, I'm going to have to ask you, my wonderful readers to put together and buy me a UPS. I don't want my equipment wrecked and I know that you don't want it wrecked either.
Despite the outages, I managed to do a bit of surfing and I noticed that Ciya was ranting against the inequities of the legal system in Canada. Imagine, a man rapes a four year old and only gets five and a half years, can you believe it? Go check it out, its a good read.
So, what've I been up to, you ask? I've been keeping busy. I even cooked dinner today too. I'm sure I've mentioned that I can't cook, right? Well recently the cooking bug has bitten me, and I am forcing Natty to teach me some stuff, though she is deathly afraid I'm going to poison her and l'il MBJr.
I did a neat stewed chicken today, though it was a mite salty. Yeah, I know you're saying "Whats he going on about stewed chicken for... thats easy!". I know, but bear with me... baby steps, you know, and if you don't laugh at me now, when I get bigger than the Iron Chef, I'll invite you all to dinner.
You know what? One of the things I like in the Blogosphere is the movie reviews. Its nice to have people like yourself review something for you, because you can tell in advance whether you're likely to like it or not. I don't live where most of the other blogger's I know live, so the major thing they can review for me is movies, and so far, they've been good to me. I want to return the favour. While I've been on leave, I've seen a couple of films, in the cinema and on DVD. Of course, most of you may well have seen these pictures already, but for the one or two of you who haven't , I highly recommend these. Do go rent or see "Deliver us from Eva", "Gangs of New York", "Finding Nemo", and Terminator 3, Rise of the Machines". They're all "Mad Bull" Endorsed, you simi?
Anyway, tonight Natty and I are going to an "Ambassador's" party. The Ambassadors are really the same people who made up the "Frenchmen" (a group of people who promoted fabulous carnival events and parties) , but one of their number migrated overseas and another migrated to that big beach party in the sky, and so they were forced to use another name for their little group. I trust that this party will be the BOOM SHOT like all the Frenchmen parties were... With that little tidbit, I take my leave of you... Enjoy your Friday night, y'all! I intend to enjoy mine! TTYL, God willing...

So, have you been taught how to boil water yet???
Cooking 001.
Enjoy the party. I'm on call so even if I wanted to go, it would not go down well if the Doc. on duty was paged and came to the hospital with the smell of VX on his breath!
(The contracts do state that drunkedness on duty is cause for immediate dismissal!) Problem is Murphy's Law applies. If I don't go anywhere, the pager will remain silent. If I go, it will certainly beep. Life sucks sometimes.
Indeed, I know the 'on leave' feeling. Many days while I was on mine, I had no idea of the date myself. Blissful. Unfortunately, my financial reserves do not allow me the the luxuries of the lengthy leave that you have embarked upon. Yes, me rass envious!
Anyhow, TTY on de morrows.

Congratulations on learning your way around the kitchen! Everyone should be able to cook. I hope you and Natty teach MBjr. to cook before he leaves home. As a child, my mother was not allowed in the kitchen, and when she married, all she could cook was meatloaf and fudge. Early pictures of my dad show a VERY skinny man! lol
We'll have to swap recipes. Last night I made Lemon-Garlic-Dijon Chicken. It's very simple to make, and you might enjoy it.
Speaking of enjoying it.....I hope you're having a great vacation! How did the Ambassador's party go?

Buffy, I'd like that recipe. I will have to work with Natty to put together a couple of her specialities for you.
We really enjoyed the "Ambassadors" party. It was fantabulous. It was held at the top of Cherry Hill, and you could look out at the beautiful lights of the city as you drank, danced, cuddles or mingled. That added to the vibe. There was an abundance of liquor and people to serve it. There was food. Curried Goat, Ackee and Salt Fish, Fried Plantains, Hot Dogs, Jerk Pork and more. There was the wonderful disco, pumping out some irie oldies. I wish Ciya and Seven were here to have gone to the party. They'd have loved it too, I'm sure.
Natty and I really enjoyed ourselves, we went at about 11:00PM and we left after 04:00AM and it was still rocking. We spent a large amount of time on the dance floor. dancing to oldies rockers, disco, and soca. An awesome time was had by all.
