The Wages of Sin is Death.

Yeah, I-an-I have been busy, mah peeps. Worse than that, I seem to be getting the flu or something. There is a bad flu going around over here, you know... it seems to be taking over Grand Cayman. Everybody at Natty's bank had it, then she got it. She actually stayed home from work yesterday. Meanwhile, at work, I got attacked by the virus and now I have the sniffles and my throat has gone a bit funny... my body must have succumbed to rass! Don't you just hate it when your body just capitulates to some asshole virus, and against your wishes at that! I mean, you'd think your body would clear the decision with you, the owner/inhabitant, first, am I right! Cho, man! smily

Anyway, I am not going to complain too long because I think that its been quite awhile since I last got flu. Thats not the norm for me, because I usually keep my body in such a run down state that its easy for any virus, big and tough or small and puny, to just walk in and lay waste to everything. Yes, sah, we have to give thanks for every little small mercy in this dangerous, wicked, evilous place that we call Earth, you done know!

Yes Rasta, we undergo nuf nuff tribulations down here on Planet Earth. Oonoo hear the latest? Well, the Caymanians feel that they need to take drastic measures to fight crime, and one of the steps they have taken is to put in place a visa system for visitors to the Cayman Islands who hail from countries considered high risk, i.e Jamaica! smily

Of course, there is some more... smily

Bwoy, it will be rough on my brothers and sisters who are law abiding and decent people who are here helping to build up Cayman, but, as was a popular saying from the time when my eye "did deh ah me knee", the good will suffer for the bad. It is sad. Look what the thugs of Jamaica have brought the rest of us to...

Hey, things are only going to get worse too, you know? Imagine, I went on AOL.com this morning at work (one of the few times I got on the 'net, cause them bussing me shirt!) and I saw this bit about vacations in the Caribbean. Guess what? They had a list of the top ten Caribbean destinations and Yard was not even on the list, much less in the top three! Ppl, if I tell you say I did shock, it would be an understatement! smily

Jamaican ppl, oonoo have nuff work to do to get rid of the scourge of crime!

Still, given how the criminals from Yard have spread their bad name abroad, you can't fight the Caymanians too much for what they have done. They have their own battles with crime starting, and they need to take decisive steps! After all, THEY were in the top ten, AND in the top three! They still have four and five cruise ships coming per day, with Tuesday gone yielding a harvest of twenty thousand tourists walking up and down in George Town, snarling traffic and spending up dollars! (source - the cruise ship report on Vibe FM) And I am sure they want to keep it that way!

I went down to see M'Buthelezi today and she gave me a bit of news... she had been speaking to my Mom more recently than I had and she told me that Mamacita told her that the priest who performed the marriage ceremony for Natty and I is very, very ill. Those of you who offer up supplications to the Almighty, say some words for Monsignor Mock Yen for me, seen? He was a nice man.

Anyway, its not all bad news tonight! I came across a treasure trove on one of the servers at work. Plenty Bob Marley albums in MP3 format. You know that I was glad I had my memory stick on me today! So I am sitting here chilling and listening to Bob's "Natty Dread" album (and others). Ppl, Junior Gong is pretty decent, but he is NOT Bob Marley reincarnated, as suggested by Ian Boyne!

Next, M'Buthelezi told me that my Mom is considering gracing us with her august presence here in the Cayman Islands! Yeah! W00t! (Its just like Mamacita to wait until they drop a visa restriction on Jamaicans to decide to visit Cayman, though, eeeh?)

Finally, a bredrin is keeping a session tomorrow night and M'Buthelezi sounds like she is prepared to stay at our home and babysit MBJr. so that Natty and I can go ah street! (As long as the flu hasn't killed me by then. I ask the prayerful amongst you to put in a good word for us so that we'll be hale and hearty to go out and get on bad tomorrow! Lord knows we need it!)

Anyway, mah peeps, I am gone! Peace to all, and since most of you will read this post tomorrow, have a great Friday, and an IRIE weekend, seen? I-an-I gone to suck pon a one Heineken and rock to some Bob Marley...

Hear the words of the Rastaman say...
Babylon you throne gone down, gone down
Babylon, you throne gone down.

I hear the words of the higher man say....
Babylon you throne gone down, gone down
Babylon, you throne gone down.

Then I hear the angel with the seven seals...
Babylon you throne gone down, gone down
Babylon, you throne gone down.

I say, fly away home to Zion,
Fly away home...
One bright morning
when my work is over,
I will fly away home...
- Bob Marley

Yeah I heard about the whole Visa thing. I guess I will now have to reconsider any future plans I have of visiting Cayman! Too many Jamaican's just too wutliss and lazy, that's why everybody shutting us out. The whole crime thing in Jamaica has really gotten out of hand! And it's affecting Jamaica in so many ways.

First off...is Jah a lick onoo down deh wid diseases cause o de VISA suppem! Heineken naw do much for flu symptoms.....if anything alcohol is only gwine weaken ones immune system...but whatever....

If you had read the link in my post (hint) from the Gleaner, it stated that Jamaicans who have current US, Canadian or UK visas would not require the Cayman one. Anyway, we shall see.

Re Father Mock Yen, somehow I thought I had mentioned (or had intended to) about his illness on our last IM rap. From what I hear he critical. Rufie was unhappy to hear herself as she hopes to have him christen her wee one.

Have a good weeeknd and Vit C + rest is what you need to help clear de flu..not VX! I jus joking...maybe the fellowship of bredrins may work also.

Hi Mad Bull-Never a dull moment. Hope your Mom gets her visa to come visit. Hope you get to go to your concert. This violence thing and visa restrictions against Jamaicans, wow, sad. Have a great weekend.

Yes - my Bloggionista - no the visa business was probably going to come. Maybe more too. Just don't know what. I think at most it will just create one more layer of arrangments to come here, as opposed to just jumping on a plane.

Dude, you and Dr. D always talking bout VX. That would be betta dan the Heineken, with some lime, rasta. Heineken.

Everyday I try to think of ways to rid the world o' them bandits. I just come up with one other idea.

Infect the whole lot o' them with bird flu and lock them in one room, darn wretches.

Of course, the human rights people will start to quarrel if we really do that!
