The music for the Friday... Non broadband ppl need not apply, yuh zimi? For the rest of oonoo... you want to hear it? Click on the image below. It will take you to the page hosting the videos. Then you look for the song "True Reflections on THAT page, and you click on the "Play Video" button. Wicked song, Rasta!

I really hope that when Jah Cure's story is looked back upon, this song will be said to have defined him. I hope he has become a better man.
So, I finally bought the Sean Paul and the Damian Marley CDs... what do I think so far? Well, Sean Paul's CD contains a number of songs that I have heard already and that I liked... also, the songs are all on popular riddims, so he has that locked already! Yeah, his album is going places... Sean Paul is what the race horce punters back a Yard like to call a banker! You buy that horse to anchor you pools... its a sure thing.
Damian's album is different. Of all the songs on it, I knew only one prior to buying the albut - "Welcome to Jamrock". What a song to lead out the rest of the album though... Damian doesn't ride pon popular riddims either. He seems to have forged his own, though he does borrow tings from him pupa! A nuh nutten... dem sound good and I'm sure Bob doh mind. Being as they are not so familiar to me, I didn't immediately jump up and galang bad when the Junior Gong's album was playing, but they songs sounded decent and Angry Dog said that they grow on you... we shall see... two other songs that DID jump out at me were "Hey Girl" and "Khaki Suit".
Hey, I recently posted some pictures of some Star girls. Well, I found those pictures while looking for one that I had seen previously and which I couldn't find again. Thanks to Sandor Panton of top5jamaica.com, I not only have the link to the picture I was looking for, but I now know that it was the most viewed page at the Jamaica Star for the week of Sept. 24, 2005. Check out the details here. The dawta you can check out yahso... just click pon the link below.

I'm Still Standing...
Yes, I know, boys and girls, I have been a bad boy, not posting for a couple of days and all... Sometimes I kind of run out of steam, but this time, thats not exactly what caused it. Heres the deal: I started reading "Digital Fortress", by Dan Brown and I rented two movies, "Sahara" and "Crash".
I got home late from work Tuesday and so after watching Sahara, there wasn't time to blog, you done know. So, what can I tell you about the movie? How did I rate it? Hmmm... well, it was a decent watch, but it didn't fire me up fully, if you know what I mean. There was a pretty rass boat on the movie, though, if any of you who read my blog win the lotto and you decide you want to reward me for all the great blog entries I have provided for you to read here, you can't go wrong if you decide to buy me that boat. Rent the movie and check the boat out, after all, if you've won the Lotto, the cost of the DVD will be absolutely negligible, and you might enjoy the show too, to boot.
Last night, I got home a bit late too, and I was planning to watch "Crash", but I started reading the "Digital Fortress" novel with dinner and that was it... no "Crash". There I went again, racking up the late charges! Hey, any of you know how I can get in touch with Dan Brown? Maybe I should send him my late charges bill, to rass...
You know what I find interesting? How come I had never heard of Dan Brown before "Da Vinci Code"? The man is a wicked writer, star! There is more, seen?

The Lost Cause...
Ppl, I don't know what it is about it, but I love this picture... have a look at it yourselves and tell me what you think? For instance, what is the first thing that came to your mind when you looked at it? How did it make you feel?
Yeah, I have in some rum, but its only a likkle bit! Thats not why I like the picture... Owen's got skillz!
Anyway, hear what. I missed posting for two days, the 27th and 28th of September... I decided that I would post one post to cover that gap. Since I didn't write anything though, I decided to make up a post from things that I wrote during the same period over the previous years that I have had my blog. Hopefully, you will follow along and take a little look at history a la Mad Bull...
Lets see... last September was definitely a September to remember, what with Hurricane Ivan tearing poor little ole Cayman apart... now at that time, Natty had taken little MBJr. to Jamaica because we didn't have any water or light here. One weekend, my head took me and I ups an flew down to Jmaiaca to surprise her! This post was written just after I got back. Click here.
Ok, going back one year in Mad Bull's Time Machine, where do we find our erstwhile protagonist? Under a phat ting? That would have been nice, but no, thats not where I was at the time I wrote this post. There is more...

Pictures, Anyone?
Pictures are worth a thousand words, they say. Since I don't have plenty to say today, I going to post some pictures. The first is a nice looking latina, a model at the recent reggaeton concert. Click here to give her a prips nuh... She is about 23 (cyah remember) and she hails from Honduras.
The Star newspaper has been working hard to share with us some nice looking hottie hottie girls, and so I will assist them. I cannot resist a good cause, rasta! Click here. Me nuh know her age, and she is from Yard...
Because plenty people say good things come in threes, it would be remiss of me to leave you with just two pictures to ogle, hence for your viewing pleasure, here is yet another young lady from the Jamaica Star, probably the prettiest of the three, even if it appears that number 2 has her ticket with regard to the body! Click here. Again, me nuh know her age, and she hails from Yard.
Me gone!
How you mean, whe me gone to? Alright, alright, I am going to give you a small talk still... You know where to go, nuh true? No? Ok, then please click the link below...

Why Me Name What Me Name
Campfyah wrote an interesting question on her blog recently... what is the reason why people choose the names they do for their blogs? Unfortunately she didn't really give the reason why she chose Campfyah for her name, but in an effort to encourage her to do so, I am going to post the source of the name "The Mad Bull's Blog" here... I had done so previously on my old blog, but as it was just a part of a post, I decided to post it again, in an entry all its own!
So, y'all have a theme song? I have a theme song... at least, I have a theme song for my blog! Its the song I took my name (Mad Bull) from, ""Charge" by Machel Montano and the Xstatik Band! I just love that song! It was from back in 1998, and Shaggy provided some of the songs vocals and appeared in the video. That year, Machel produced the Road March winner, "Footsteps", but I preferred "Charge" still... Oonoo remember it? It started out with a little spanish melody and the lyrics at the beginning went something like this:
Come join the mad bull fever
Come join the mad bull fever!
Come join the mad bull fever!!
C H A R G E !!!
Toro, Toro!
C H A R G E !!!
I can still remember charging around the place and bouncing up into people, and when it was people you didn't like, you just bounced them down complete... bwoy, I had a lot of fun with that song at plenty, plenty fetes! What does it have to do with my name though? Well, you know how it is? Sometimes you want an email address to use which nobody will link to you...
Maybe you want to tell your boss about his RASS (Jamaican badword). We all want to do that from time to time, nuh true?
Maybe you just want to write a love letter to someone via email, but you don't want your name on the email (maybe you're in another relationship).
Maybe you have a friend who has really bad body odor, and you know he needs to be told about it, but you don't want him to know who is telling him. Have you ever been in a situation like this? You feelin' me or wha?
Whatever the reason, sometimes we all want an anonymous email address, right.
At the time, Machel's song was tearing up the place, and so thats the name I used for my email address.
When I was putting up this blog, Natty told me she would be uncomfortable with me posting up her name and information about her on the web, so once again, anonymity was desirable. They say the new broom sweeps clean, but the old broom knows all the corners, so rather than come up with a new anonymous name, I drew for my old email address name... I know y'all wondered how I came up with the name... There you have it. From Mad Bull Fever to The Mad Bull's Blog!

Ain't Saying he's a Gold Digger
I got the link for this from Shotta Marc. This is some good shyte! Its a video remix of Kanye West's "Gold Digger" which outs George Bush for "not liking black people". I mean, normally I wouldn't go so far as to say Georgie Porgie "don't like black people", but you know them by their actions, I guess... or in his case, his inaction. I am left with some serious questions! Anyway, whatever the reason behind it, I think that his choosing to stay on vacation so long after the passage of Katrina is damning! He is a poor leader, and this will stain the legacy he hoped to leave behind.
Oh! Be careful watching this around kids, and you are going to need high bandwidth. Now I have to ask a serious question! Dem doh sell Red Stripe Beer in New Orleans or wha? And whassup with a brotha's hair do don't?

The picture in the popup was looted from Cali J.

Sharing Goodies

Respect to all crew! What a gwaan? Here are some nice goodies I received:
The first is a picture taken by a bredrin at work. He went on a cycling vacation, cycling through some pretty rough looking terrain in Colorado with his wife, a GPS and a map. He had some nice pictures to show for it which he shared with me and which I now share with you. See, the Caribbean is not the only pretty place on Earth! What a pretty sunset, eeeh?
The next one that I'm sharing is an email joke. Here we go... click the link below...

Prattling On!

Ppl, I just got home! I went to a parent-teacher meeting at MBJr.'s school. No, the reason why we were so late getting home was not that MBJr. was such a bad boy, but that some people stole some of the schools computers over the summer.
While we were at the meeting, MBJr's teacher pointed that fact out and said that she had received her replacement computers and she asked if any of the parents would volunteer to set them up. I did, and since it was only four of them, I decided to just do it tonight.
Now, I have selected another item from Scratchies and Small Island Girl's list, but it will take too much out of me to write it tonight, so I decided give you a link to a post I wrote long ago about something similar to another item from the list, namely Item 26: Looked up at the night sky through a telescope...
Well, I've never really looked up at it using a telescope, but I have looked up at it, lots... here' s what I had to say about a time that was simpler, when me and my baby would gaze at the heavens a lot more than we do today...
I notice that in that post, dated 10 Oct 2001, I said that I would have to take some time out to do some star gazing again. Well, I am here to tell you that I still haven't done it, despite being in a country where we could actually do it and not have much to fear... Maybe one night this weekend I will have to chill up a bottle of champagne and take Natty outside for awhile and we can fulfill the "plan" I made back then.
I also decided to just drop a picture of a nice looking daughter on you to give you a li'l sup'm more to contemplate. She name Patasha... She is a star too, IMHO, so oonoo can gaze at her if oonoo want!
Oh, by the way, Scratchie and Michelle have fostered a lot of conversation about Miss Jamaica on their blogs recently, and so I thought that I'd give you all a little look at the delegate from the Dominican Republic! Now let me tell you... there are some nice looking ladies coming out of the Dominican Republic, you know, and the delegate looks rather nice still! What do you all think?

Number 76
76) Kissed in the rain.
I detest lists, did I ever tell you that! So I was reading by Scratchies and I noticed that he had followed the example of Small Island Girl and had posted his answers to a list of "200 things that you should do in your life time", saying which he had done by listing those particular things in boldface while listing the things he had not yet accomplished in normal text...
Well, I kind of like the idea, but no list should go over, say, twenty items, IMHO. As a result, I won't reproduce the list here and now and tell you which of them I've done. No sir. The Mad Bull, he has to be different. I am just going to tell you about one of the items on the list (yeh, number 76). I do reserve the right to tell you about more items from the list, and in similar amounts of detail, but at other times, you done know. I must be able to get maybe ten posts out of that list, to rass!
So yeah, kissing in the rain... I've done it, prolly more than once too, but one of those times really stands out from the others, you know... It was when I was about 16 or so, and I was going out with a really hot girl, and one weekend, her mom took us with her to the country. I think we went to Ocho Rios, but for sure I know that we stopped in a place called Walker's Wood, in St. Ann. I remember stopping there because thats where the kissing-in-the-rain incident took place...
You see, her mother had a friend who lived in Walker's Wood, and we stopped at her home and her mom went inside. We decided to chill out in the garden, and so we got out and were walking around. It was a pretty big property, like a small farm or something. So we were walking around and we ended up standing and chatting behind this detached garage that her mom's friend had. One thing led to another, and me being the horny teen-ager that I was, I started to hug her and kiss her up and thing.
Now while we were out there in the garden, some clouds formed up, almost out of nowhere, and so there we were in mid-kiss, when the rain began to fall. It started with one or two drops, but before you could say "Rass, it a rain" it was coming down full force! We were feeling a bit passionate and thing though, and so we stood out there for awhile and continued to kiss, and before you know it, we got pretty soaked. Anyway,to this day, I don't know what provoked it, but a out of the blue, my girl pulled off her top! Maybe she was just "in the mood", maybe she was just wanting to feel the rain on her body, I don't know why she did it, but trust me, I thought that it was indescribably hot!
Yup, more deh deh!

Some New Links
I came across some links to three more caribloggers, all now new additions to my Caribbean Blogroll! They are three women from Jamaica. The first is Japronika. The other two are Jamaican Woman and Kingston Girl. Big up and welcome to all of them, seen?
Remember to go ye forth and check their sites out after reading this post!
Bwoy, the Caribbean Blogroll is getting quite long! I wonder if I should start listing only 20 of them at a time, and list them randomly? Its getting so that its impossible to rtead them all everyday anyway... we shall see.
Hey, I have spoken on this blog before about the phenomena of those dancehall women who have that rough, tough, raspy voice. I had wondered what caused these women to speak like that, and had either suggested or heard suggested that their voice became that way as a result of the many kilos of ganja they had consumed.
Anyway, I was giving a Caymanian dawta a drop to work on Friday morning and while we were on the way, Vibe FM was promoting the Macka Diamond concert by having Macka Diamond, Lady G and a dancer they had brought along on the air. Now this dancer is a former dancehall queen and she said she came prepared to drop some wikid moves, so in retrospect, maybe I should have made the effort and attended that concert, but anyway, what I really found interesting about it was that the dancer had that same rough, awful sounding voice...
I mentioned it to the young Caymanian missie and proferred the hypothesis I mentioned above.
She replied, "Maybe, but I don't think thats it. Maybe she just has something "pricking" her in her throat regularly..."
Omg! Oh no she didn't?!! LOL, LOL, LOL!
Maybe thats it!
There is more... There is also a little movie file embedded in the page, so if you don't have a high bandwidth connection, just be aware that the page might take awhile to load, seen?

On the Corner
Hey, all... so its Friday nite and so far it seems like I will not be going to either the Reggaeton concert OR the Macka Diamond concert (not that I was really fretting about Macka D. and her sistren dem still). So what the rass do I have to chat bout? No mucho, no mucho... cho...
I'm sitting here listening to Now 2004, to "Just Like You":
"I could be fake,
I could be stupid,
You know I could be just like you!".
So, whats the latest here in Grand Cayman... well, there was this "robbery" recently. Two masked gunmen went into a house in Patrick's Island. They tied up two women, putting pillow cases over their heads. They did the same to the five kids in the house. They waited there until the husband of one of the women came home and they tied him up and pillow cased him too, then eventually they left, taking the people's cash and jewellery. On the radio, they said it was a robbery, and they hinted that the robbers seemed to have been targeting a more high profile person, but they went to the wrong address.
Rumour on the street has it that the gunmen were not really out for robbery motives. Talk has it that they actually went to Patrick's Island to take out some big shot official in the judiciary. They did go to the wrong house and decided to make it at least a bit worth their while by taking a little cash and jewellery.
Word has it that the official has been moved off-island to protect him. Word also has it that the two gunmen in question had heavy Jamaican accents! Bwoy, we exporting our bad produce too, eh?
I hope the police here find them and fill them full of lead, like their counterparts did to the kidnapper in this story on crime in J'ca. Bwoy, as the words to a song I have come to like very much say :
"These are some serious times,
All I can see around me is violence and crime"...
Anyway, enough of that! I am getting tired, so I won't tarry long with you... lady Caribloggers, do you know what time it is? Well, its almost October! So what, say you? Well, the fourth annual Boobiethon will be in October and I think that one or two of the lady bloggers in our clique should donate pictures of their boobs to it! Guys, don't you all agree? After all, the Boobiethon is all about collecting money for Breast Cancer and now too, for Hurricane Katrina victims! Ladies, show them that the milk of human kindness flows bountifully through your breast! Represent for us, ladies!
Thats it! Me tyad! Ah gone!

Me Gusta La Reggaeton
Five cruise ships in the harbour this morning... plenty-plenty tourists all around the place down on the waterfront. I know because I drove through South Sound to get to work this morning, its the first in a long time that I've been that way, because Natty didn't ride in to work with me this morning. Since I was feeling the scenery vibe, I just drove along the waterfront straight into George Town, even though that put me into more traffic. That is the pretty route, you done know!
You know, I quite like Reggaeton! That music has a nice vibe, Iyah! Huh? How you mean, what is Reggaeton?
Reggaeton is a nice blending of Reggae with some latin rhythm and the product of the 'coupling' of the cultures is irie, Rasta! I mean, c'mon! Who can say they don't like "Gasolina" by Daddy Yankee?
"a ella le gusta la gasolina
dame mas gasolina!
a ella le encanta la gasolina
dame mas gasolina!
I haven't made it to "Caliente" yet, (Caliente is the name given to a "Latin Night" hosted locally (Next Level Nite Club) on Thursdays), but I do like the music! Apparently the opportunity has presented itself for me to see a group performing it live.
They are called the "Ragamuffin Killers" and they are from Honduras. I may just go tek it een (go see it) still.
Apparently September is a month in which many Latin-American countries marked their Independence, ( as a matter of fact, today is their Independence Day) and so...

Oh No, Work Tomorrow!
Lets see if we can enjoy whats left of the weekend, shall we? What a gwaan, my crew? I come to drop little chat pon you... The weekend has been pretty good so far... I had to go in to work Saturday afternoon, but at least I did get some pool games in. That was some good fun, though one of the guys I was playing with took advantage of my higher beer ratio towards the end of the evening, so we'll have to have a rematch!
Today, I went up to Kaibo. Click pon de link. You see that pool and the hot tub in the first picture? Thats where I was chilling today. It was sweet! MBJr loved it too, he was saying he wished he lived there.
Unfortunately, I doh rolling in the dollahs as yet, so we continue to live a low profile lifestyle. Ah so it go, you done know!
I was surfing the 'Net today and came across some interesting pictures at Whaddat, bwoy! Follow the link below to check them out nuh?

Its the Little Things...
Hey Yow! Whattup? Bwoy, I was planning to write a post last night, but there I sat in front of Compi when lightning started to flash and thunder started to roll... in two twos, poof!!! The power went out!
So we stumbled around in the dark, trying to light candles and to find batteries to put in the flashlights. We seem to have put things up too well though, so I quickly decided, "Fcuk that, I am just going to lie down in my bed until the lights come back!". Power was restored shortly after I lay down, but once I had gotten horizontal, my eyelids started to droop, and that was that. I was out like a light, at about 9:30PM!
Somehow, I woke up at 2:30AM, and I was having a difficult time going back off to sleep, so I came out to Compi, fired her up and decided to have a look at my blog templates. You see, B.art of B.art & Life had recently suggested that I look at the design of my site as B.art found that it hurt his/her eyes. I took a quick poll and found that there were others who felt this way, and so I decided to look into it.
Anyway, one of the problems I have had, pretty much since I went with this design was that I liked how my fonts looked in the Internet Explorer browser, but when I was using the Mozilla or Opera browsers, and nowadays, when I use Firefox, the fonts looked like crap. I just couldn't figure out why this was so!
It seems that it needed me to have a block of time when I was undisturbed and also, when the impulse to tear apart the blog templates was upon me, because tonight I found the problem! You won't believe what it was! Don't have a kitten, I'm going to tell you... ok, I was using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to format the text. I had a class set up like so:
.blogpost
{font-family:Verdana,
Arial,
Helvetica;
font-size: 12 px;
font-weight:normal;
font-style:normal;
color:white;
}
That setting did exactly what I wanted it to in Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, it seems all the other browsers are more strict in the way they parsed the CSS! See that space between the '12' and the 'px' on the line with the' font-size' property? The space was what was throwing off the rendering of the fonts in the other browsers! Once I removed the space, the fonts started doing what I wanted! Can you believe it? One space was all that was holding me up, for all this time! Its always the little things, innit?
Anyway, there are more changes to come... look out for them. Tata...

Thursday Trash

Well, if you guessed that I have been too busy to post anything of substance today, you are correct. I am actually posting this from work.
That is a picture of some buildings in downtown Tampa taken from a parking garage across from a shopping center in Ybor City, just before I went to watch "Charlie's Chocolate Factory". I wish I could tell you all sorts of artsy-fartsy stuff about the picture, but all I can say is, I liked the look of the buildings, gleaming in the setting sun, and I thought the picture would be enhanced by the view from that circular window. Don't really think I got the effect I wanted, but FWIW, there it is...
I didn't love the picture still, (the movie, I mean) I much preferred the version I saw as a kid. Do you know, I noticed that the theatre was jam-packed with adults! I guess they were looking to relive the memory of the old movie, because Johnny Depp's version was crap! Actually, the only reason I was there was MBJr.
Anyway, I got lots accomplished here at work tonight, but its time to hit the road, Jack, because I have to come back tomorrow, bright and early in the AM. As such, here endeth the post. Look at the picture above and think of me, 'cause you know I am thinking of you... NOT!
Me gone! Peace, ppl...

Monday Mutterings
There are a couple of interesting items I noticed in the Jamaican newspapers recently... first, you will recall that the lady who was allegedly raped by Jah Cure gave her side of the story to the Sunday Gleaner last week... I noticed that Jah Cure was interviewed with regard to the same rape issue this Sunday... here is the essence of what Jah Cure had to say, according to the Gleaner :
"Right now me a rehabilitate and it is not a case of guilty or innocent anymore. It is all about rehabilitation and I am coming out, either or (e)ither, time is winding down.".
The man doesn't seem to be protesting his innocence anymore, is he? Hmmmm... Well, he is due out in 2007, and if he did rape the girl (as it seems more and more everyday that he did), I think he should serve out his sentence. I'm all for rehabilitation, and I think he should be allowed to continue to make music and ting, I will still listen to it, but I think he should probably chill in jail until the appointed time. Its not that much longer, hell, 2005 or 2007? Wait out the full sentence, Rasta!

Someone Applauds Pat Robinson?!
Recently that ass, Rev. Pat Robinson, suggested that the president of Venezuela, should be assassinated by the US. Clerics and religious leaders all over Jamaica expressed their shock and horror at the braying of that religious donkey, I believe they even made some sounds about what he said being manifestly evil and that something like that could only flow from devilish influences.
When I heard that, I felt pretty good, but then I came across this article by a (local?) religious leader (he calls himself Fr.) which applauded what Pat Robinson had to say!
This guy sounds like he endorses some of the rubbish that Robinson has been spouting in the past, such as saying that feminism will lead to lesbianism, that family planning is dangerous, and that people other than Christians or Jews are not able to govern a country! He sounds like he would be prone to utter similar nonsense himself. He quite likely is a bit crazy and will definitely bear watching... You know, I wonder if his whole article was written tongue-in-cheek and he was just being sarcastic? I am finding it hard to believe that he is really endorsing all this crap!?

Whats Up Wid This Looting Shyte?
There is so much to think about with regard to this hurricane that has fucked up the Gulf Coast, plenty plenty things, like for instance the similarities between Grand Cayman and the New Orleans area (neither are much above sea level) and the fact that more and more killer storms are said to be in the offing, but one of the things that sticks out in my mind is this issue of looting.
It has really made an impact on my mind. Now I have not seen the footage of said looting (as I have said here before, I don't watch much TV), but Natty was telling me about it and the first thing that came to my mind was to question her, "Was it black people that were doing the looting?". Her answer was yes. Now I do not mean to suggest that there were no white people looting. I don't know, but Natty says she never saw any whites in the bit of footage she saw, except for a little old white man standing up and watching the hordes of black people tearing apart the store with trepidation on his face.
Of course, there IS something to what Cali J pointed out: There is a difference between what they say about the same activities when they are done by whites and by blacks... White people "find" food. Black people "loot". Go check it out at Cali J.
Still, maybe there is something to it. Natty described the blacks going through the stores in a most militant fashion, tearing the place apart, taking anything and everything, and seemingly prepared to bruck up anything that got in their way. I'm wonder if that was the approach of the whites who were described as "finding food"? Did they behave like a mad, angry mob as Natty described the set of looters she saw on TV (who all seemed to be black), or did they just make their way into stores in an unthreatening manner, take some dearly needed food and leave? I dunno... CNN didn't seem to show any such footage, however.
These aggressive looter types are giving black people a bad name though, rasta! Something needs to be done about them!
Updated : 05 Sep 2005 : Well, I see by the comments written here that most of you agree with me in part or in full. Here is the view of a regular columnist to the Jamaica Star, Leighton Levy. Based on my reading of his column, he pretty much had exactly the same sentiments as I did. Check it if you feel like...
