Teachers

Let me show you how teachers can be wicked! They know tonight is Halloween, right?! And yet they set a science test for tomorrow! Now Natty and I came home a bit late from work and we have to struggle to eat food and take MBJr. up in science and spelling before he can go out trick or treating! I just hope some people have candy left or we'll never hear the end of this! Those teachers are irresponsible, bwoy! Don't they know that kids have a social life too?! smily

Speaking of wicked teacher's, have any of you seen "The Interpreter" yet? They have a guy in the movie that they call "the Teacher" and him wicked nuh ra$$ too! As a matter of fact, in the beginning of the show, two men go to meet some people. They go into the place and they see three boys kicking around a football. They ask the boys for their party and one of the boys leads them into a dark room. Then he tells them he hears someone coming outside and the two men go out. As soon as they step out, one of them is cut down in a hail of automatic gunfire. The other one looks to see his attacker and he sees one of the other boys holding an AK47 which is pointed at him.

He starts to beg, but the boy remorselessly lets a short burst rip into his midsection. He falls to his knees, looking at his attacker all the while. The boy walks up to him, puts the gun's muzzle up to his forehead and says, "The Teacher says 'Goodbye'". Then he splatters the man's brains into the dirt.

Ppl, the show stars Sean Penn and Nicole Kidman, both veterans with lots of skills under their belts. The storyline is great, and believe me there is lots of action and excitement! If you missed it in the theatres, you can get it at your local Blockbuster, just go in and tell them that Mad Bull sent you! You can't lose on this movie, its Mad Bull endorsed!

Anyways, me gone to take my little "Skeletor" out to trick or treat. Soon come.

Updated : The little man did fairly well up in the Savannah Meadows area. Candy like dirt, and all in a fairly concentrated area. He hit the mother lode, man! If he had gone out earlier, he might even have got enough that he could get to taste one or two after Natty and I took our turns first! smily

Naw! I'se just kidding! The loot is all his. Anyway, I gone for now. I am going to put on my stripper outfit, its so cute! I am dressed like a cop, and its got cuffs, a nice leather baton and a matching black thong and everything, and because of the fake sixpack that you can strap on, I look great in it! I am going to go tell Natty "Trick or Treat" and see if I can get to fill up her little sweetie bag! Wish me luck! Happy Halloween, everybody!smily

Numero Uno

Well, Ri of Revolution Island asked me to post a picture of a girl for him, and he is my bredrin and ting, so I am going to facilitate his request.

Now this time, I have good reason to talk about the girl whose picture I am going to post apart from her irie looks, because I just read that she has rated Cayman number one when it comes to scuba diving. So, who is this chiquita anyways? I mean, some arbitrary chick says that she thinks Cayman is number one and thats important? Yeah, well, people will listen to this chick, is what I'm thinking, cos she is none other than Jessica Alba! smily

Yes sir, apparently young, hot, juicy, lushious Miss Alba was in the Caymans not so long ago as she came here to brush up on her scuba skills before she started filming her movie "Into the Blue"! She was here doing cave dives and wall dives and she had a fabulous time! Cayman, big up oonoo self!

Rain, Rain, guweh!

Cho. Its been raining on and off today, it seems that it might be a result of Tropical Storm Beta, which is right up against the South American mainland, but due south of us! Apparently that storm now has winds of 60 mph and it is drifting northwards at 2 mph! I am getting really bummed out with all this rain still, and I am wishing that I could go to sleep tonight and wake up tomorrow to hear that its now December and that the hurricane season is over!

Of course, with my luck, another tropical storm would form after that and then we would hear that they now have to extend the hurricane season past November from now on! smily

Can you tell that I am a bit fed up with all this storm crap?

Anyway, I am sure that most of you who read here are pretty fed up as well, since most of you live in the same general area or you all have family who do. We all could use a little laugh right now, so I am going to post two jokes. Trouble, I know you detest posting other people's jokes, but if you bear with me and read these two, you might just find that they are irie.

Poor Doctor D, he is always criticising my jokes and when I finally get two half decent jokes to post, his computer chooses to be on the blink. Oh well, the rest of us will just have to enjoy the jokes for them, won't we?

((((RING)))) phone rings...

((((**Pick Up**))))

"Hello?"
"Hi honey, this is Daddy, Is Mommy near the phone?".
"No Daddy, She's upstairs in the bedroom with Uncle Frank".
After a brief pause, Daddy says, "But honey, you haven't got an Uncle Frank".
"Oh yes I do, and he's upstairs in the room with Mommy, right now".

Heh... I continued the joke below, if you wah fi read it, click pon that link right dung dehso...

That Visa Shitstem

Hi all. I know that I promised to write something more than that little early morning quickie yesterday, but it never came to pass... I-man sorry about that still, but I have been under some stress at work, and when I am under stress sometimes I don't feel like writing a stroke! smily

Doh worry, I am in the place tonight. So, what a gwaan pon the three little rocks beside the Rock? What has been exciting the populace and is in the forefront of plenty people's? Well, there has been a bit of a storm in the media recently over this whole "Visa for Jamaicans" issue! Yes, remember that I told you that the Government over here was about to implement a visa system for Jamaicans? Well, since then, the issue has been in the press over here, bigtime!

First the Chamber of Commerce and Cayman Net News hit out at the Compass, saying that they (the Chamber) DID NOT call for a visa system for Jamaicans, but rather, for a visa system for visitors from "high-risk" countries. smily

Soon after that, P.J. Patterson weighed in on the issue. The gentleman was invited here as a guest speaker at the Chamber of Commerce' 40th anniversary dinner on Saturday night. Well, Mr. P.J. tell dem say he knows that they are within their rights to implement such a visa requirement for Jamaicans. In the same way, the Jamaican Gov't. had the right to revise their imigration policy as it regards Caymanians also! smily

Well, that sweet the belly of nuff of the Jamaicans here, who felt that for the most part, we Jamaicans are a boon to the Cayman Islands, and who feel that we are being slighted wrongly. Dem feel away (very badly), as we would say, and P.J. came and said some things that needed to be said!

P.J.'s speech also enraged plenty of the Caymanians, who seemed to feel that P.J. had no right to come here and talk to them any and any kind of way! smily

There is a bit more, if you want to continue...

No Internet Connection

Hey all! Cable and Wireless' undersea cables have been damaged, I guess due to the turbulent seas we've been experiencing recently due to Hurricane Wilma. As a result, I have lost my internet connection, thats why you haven't heard from me since Friday. Cable & Wireless is working on it, hopefully it will be restored today, but with my luck, probably not.

Had fun yesterday though... went to Corner Pocket, played pool as usual! I had a nice time, and Trouble, his Maid Marion and one of his merry men taught me 9-ball pool, which seems to be a pretty interesting game!

I had to flash there much earlier than I would've liked, as a bredrin of mine had a birthday party for his 12-year-old daughter at Senor Frogs! I thought that would be boring, but it was actually pretty decent. The Senor Frogs employees are some good vibes-masters still! They know how to get the party going right! They had the girls singing Karioke and dancing all the latest moves, and they were playing music videos, and there was a lot of great food and liquor. A grand time was had by all!

We had some irie food for breakfast too, we went to McDonalds (not the American McDonalds, a restaurant here that sells great caribbean food). I had some irie salt mackerel with callaloo, green banana, yam and boiled dumplings! It was wickedly delicious, mek mi tell you! MMmmmmmn!

Anyway, I am going to flash now. Hopefully I will have Internet access later. If so, you will hear from me again later. If not, well, I will see oonoo when I see oonoo, you done know. Peace and love, mi bredrins and sistrens!

Check Out Da Wave Deh

Thank Massa God say that hurricane never hit us here in Grand Cayman, you know, because check this out... look how far from us the hurricane passed and then look at how it has riled up our seas... That is a picture of wave action currently happening in George Town Harbour.

When the waves hit the ironshore, the spray is going way high into the air... higher than the electricity wires... higher than two story buildings in some places. smily

All that and the hurricane is all the way over by Cosumel, Mexico! Remember how I mentioned that the road between where I live and George Town was blocked? It was blocked with sea water... the waves came over the cliff by Pedro Castle and flowed down the road to the intersection with Shamrock Road, where it puddled up and got pretty deep, so that people didn't want to drive through it.

The thing is, the cliffs that the waves came over are about 40 ft. high! I hear that the people whose houses are right up against that cliff are in a bad way... one of them said his house is basicall destroyed! And the storm didn't hit us at all! smily

One things for sure... I know I not going to the beach this weekend! Anyway, I-an-I man gone for now... Have a great weekend all...

My Little Bad Bwoy.

MBJr is a wonderful kid. Nowadays, he is always up to some mischief, he is always trying to play tricks on you or or he is teasing you or something like that. I am sorry that Sixty Five (my father) is not around to see MBJr. now because I know for certain that Sixty Five would love to see him getting up to his antics! smily

He is still not yet at the stage where you can do the same thing (play tricks and tease him) back to him, but I guess he will learn to laugh at himself with time.

I'll give you an idea of the kinds of mischief he gets up to nowadays. One Sunday morning, after I had turned in late after drinking up some Appleton V/X & Pepsi, I woke up early but was lying around in my bed, just chilling, because I still felt a bit tired when I woke up.

Of course, the little munchkin had no such issues! Click the link below to continue...

So Far, So Good...

Light? Check.
Water? Check.
Food? Check.
TV? Nope, but I expected that. Every time it rains, I lose TV. Maybe I need a bigger dish.
Internet? Oh rass! smily

Yes, people, even though my phone still works, somehow I can no longer connect to the internet, and we all know how important that is! Shit. How am I going to get through the next day or two? I might even have to interact with other humans directly!?!

Oh, wait... there is hope... the rain has eased up a bit and both TV and internet connectivity are back. Yesss!!!

So, we've been having some strong breeze here, coupled with downpours of rain, but so far, its been nothing that we can't handle. At the same time, it looks like I didn't need to shutter up last night, although Wilma has increased in strength, big time!

Yes, sir, I went out into the rain, flu and all, and up went the shutters! Natty didn't really want me to go, but the owner of our house wanted to put the shutters up and I felt bad letting him do it all alone. Natty bundled me up though... she cut a Hurley's bag up one side and she put that on my head. She then secured that with a cap (one given to me by Ciya's husband, incidentally... long time we haven't heard from her, bwoy!). She then cut up a garbage bag to protect my chest region. Want to see how I looked? This picture was taken after I came back inside, check it out! (Not a perfect pic, but you will get the idea.)

So far, it doesn't seem like she is going to do anything weird and turn and come straight at us, but then, Wilma is a weird storm in and of herself, so you never know. What a way she intensified quickly!? Yesterday, in the morning, she was still just a Tropical Depression, and today, they are saying she is the most intense hurricane ever!

Anyway, Natty has made some breakfast and she is calling, so me gone for now! TTYL!

I Just Not In The Mood...

You know, the last couple of days, I have not been able to come up with a post. Its like I have been becalmed, not a stroke of wind to billow the sails of my mind. I guess I was just barely moving, kind of like that blasted storm out there.

08:30am :-
What a thing with that Tropical Storm, huh? Woh, hold up, shes a hurricane now! Bumbo claat! I wonder why she has just chilled and sat there in the same spot south-south east of Grand Cayman, just sitting still and building her strength? Methinks that is not a good thing. About the only good thing about it is that it almost has to move due north to pass really close to us. Hurricanes don't often do that, do they?

01:30pm :-
One thing doh! We getting a lot of breeze today, you know! Some of that "blow-up-skirt" kind of breeze, you know? Breeze that grabs the door from you as you are leaving the building and crashes the door against the wall with a most awful bang, or bashing into people who were unfortunate enough to be standing too close as you opened the door. Gusty, strong breeze. That doesn't mean that the hurricane is coming though, does it?

04:20pm :-
Yup. Theres more...

Interesting Lyrical Changes

Recently, cultural songs seem to be ruling on the music scene back in Jamaica. I findd that refreshing still, after all, one can take only so much of the punaany lyrics. Sometimes I think that the prevalence of those kinds of lyrics suggests that we are a very shallow, base people, and I don't think that we all are, so I am glad when songs of a different nature do well out there.

We seem to have a number of new artistes coming on the scene too, one of whom is "Gyptian". I wrote in a comment on Dr. D's blog that the men who were running the music scene in Jamaica right now (in terms of having the hottest music out there at this time) were Gyptian and Jah Cure. Yes Rasta, these guys are "Out and Bad!" right now. The Doc responded that he didn't know who Gyptian was, nor what he sang. smily

Well Doc, if you go ah street and sit down and have a few drinks anywhere, you must and bound to have heard Gyptian's "Serious Times". It is number one in Jamaica right now! If you driving on the road daily and you listen to any of the other stations apart from Power 106, (which may still play it, but not as often) you must and bound to have heard it too.

Why do I say that Power 106 more likely to not play the song as often as the other stations? Because Power 106 could easily have as their slogan, "THE number one 'Chat Fart' radio station in Jamaica!". Talk shows all day long, with people like Motty Perkins and Laing chatting nothing but fart and getting nothing accomplished but reducing the productivity of the Jamaican worker!" smily
"Gimi the music mek we jump and prance!" sez I!

If you still aren't sure if you've heard the song, click here to listen to a piece of the song, seen? (download size: approx. 2MB)

If hearing that song makes you want to know anything more about the singer, click here to read up an interview Gyptian did with the Jamaica Observer, in which he tells you about his roots, his life, whether hes got a family or not, and more.

"Well a Rasta juice in me still, is like a werewolf and a vampire have a pickney!" says Gyptian.

Go check it out.

I hear that we are supposed to get hit by a tropical storm today. Apparently it nearly drownd Yard and now its gunning for poor likkle Cayman. Well, some rain just started to fall outside, I wonder if it has reached. Bwoy, the picture on the Go-Jamaica Weather site is not pretty, and also, its familiar. Remember I was lamenting over seeing little sunshine recently. I hope this storm is moving at knots and just passes through in a matter of hours, because this rain sinting is going to get me down! smily

The Wages of Sin is Death.

Yeah, I-an-I have been busy, mah peeps. Worse than that, I seem to be getting the flu or something. There is a bad flu going around over here, you know... it seems to be taking over Grand Cayman. Everybody at Natty's bank had it, then she got it. She actually stayed home from work yesterday. Meanwhile, at work, I got attacked by the virus and now I have the sniffles and my throat has gone a bit funny... my body must have succumbed to rass! Don't you just hate it when your body just capitulates to some asshole virus, and against your wishes at that! I mean, you'd think your body would clear the decision with you, the owner/inhabitant, first, am I right! Cho, man! smily

Anyway, I am not going to complain too long because I think that its been quite awhile since I last got flu. Thats not the norm for me, because I usually keep my body in such a run down state that its easy for any virus, big and tough or small and puny, to just walk in and lay waste to everything. Yes, sah, we have to give thanks for every little small mercy in this dangerous, wicked, evilous place that we call Earth, you done know!

Yes Rasta, we undergo nuf nuff tribulations down here on Planet Earth. Oonoo hear the latest? Well, the Caymanians feel that they need to take drastic measures to fight crime, and one of the steps they have taken is to put in place a visa system for visitors to the Cayman Islands who hail from countries considered high risk, i.e Jamaica! smily

Of course, there is some more... smily

Its About Nothing at all

Check this spider out! It was about the size of my palm, people! Cayman seems to be spider country, trust me! Its not the first spider that I have seen in that size range!

That spider was chilling on the rails of the little verandah (I guess thats what you'd call it) of the house I live in. Natty deemed that it was too close to the house for comfort, and so the spider is no more... Actually, I didn't mind committing murder with this spider, because I had visions of it getting into the house and having chilluns and then the whole house would have become inundated with them, (and then maybe Natty would have "lacked shap" until I got rid of the li'l bastards), but you know what I mean!

Anyway, let me come off of that topic before oonoo change my blogname from "The Mad Bull's Blog" to "The Spider Murderer's Blog".

Lets talk about chickens for a little bit: Now, if you cast your minds back to just after Ivan, you will recall that I used to mention chickens a lot!

Getting Properly Crunked...

Well, I'm back again! One thing about me, you know, I may get a bit down from time to time but God made me in such a way that I don't stay down long! I am back!

So what contributed to my state of well-being today? I don't know really... It wasn't work... work was just the same shit, different day.

Still, lunch was irie! I went over to Senor Frogs and chillaxed with some bredrins and a sistren (AKA G, W and Miss L). That was irie still. Miss L persuaded me to have an alcoholic beverage (trust me, she never had to work hard at all). It was some kind of mix between a pina colada and something else, I don't remember. It was nice still, though they didn't grind up the ice in the drink enough, and the ice kept blocking up my straw all the time... We ate out on the balcony and the rainy weather made sure that the place was cool and irie and mah peeps kept a nice, lively banter going that was all good. I had a blackened chicken sandwich and I thought it was most excellent. There is more, my crew...

Cho Ra$$

Hey all... How're you doing? Me, I am not my usual hyped-up, in-a-good-mood self today... There are several reasons, really. I am not even sure what they all are, but I know that one of them is this period we're in, with all the rain and cloudiness and ting. It is beginning to get on my nerves, Rasta! I dunno about you, but I am a "bright sunlight" sorta guy. When its raining for days, I don't like it, and what with this big rass weather system out there (shown in picture above) it looks like we'll have to endure grey skies and rain for awhile yet. Bummer.

Another reason why I not feeling good is gas prices. Yeah, everybody has been blogging about it, but this morning on the way in to work, I bought a three quarter tank of gas and I had to part with CI$42! That is just NOT RIGHT! Its enough to make a good christian curse, and I am prolly not the best example of a christian you could find if you were looking around for examples, yuh zimi? smily

Again, our Satellite dish has been giving problems too...

Idle Chat

Yesterday was pretty busy for me from afternoon on. I got called out to work, and I had invited a bredrin to dinner with Natty and I. I somehow managed to still go to dinner, but I didn't leave work until after 1:30am. Anyway, as you might suspect, I don't have tons of exciting things to discuss, because mostly work and little play make Jack (and Mad Bull) dull likkle bwoys. I have managed to find a likkle something for you though:

Now this one is supposed to be a true story. I think you'll find it amusing.

On a recent weekend in Atlantic City, a woman won a bucketful of quarters at a slot machine. She took a break from the slots for dinner with her husband in the hotel dining room. But first she wanted to stash the quarters in her room. "I'll be right back and we'll go to eat," she told her husband and carried the coin-laden bucket to the elevator.

As she was about to walk into the elevator, she noticed two men already aboard. Both were black. One of them was tall....very tall...an intimidating figure. The woman froze. Her first thought was: "These two are going to rob me.".
