Too soon…
Posted on April 26th, 2002 by Mad Bull
Like Aaliyah, Lisa Lefteye is gone too soon… I was really shocked when I heard the news this morning on Fame FM. She will be sadly missed.
We had a popular song here in Ja. (Jamaica) called “Has the world gone mad.” I don’t remember the year, or the artiste’s name right now, but that song is what came to mind when I read about the German school massacre…
How totally depressing.
Well MB, as I haven’t watched TV or heard news on the radio for about a day and a half I must thank you for keeping me up to date. All I can say re the German massacre is that I suppose its not only in the U.S.A. that these massacres occur, and that the World is in turmoil (some countries more than others.)
MB - In life only death is certain! Bummer! I prefer, ‘I don’t want no scrubs.’ I think that is the title or is it just plain, ‘Scrubs?’ Please let me know!
More lives faded away in what, for most of us, were just normal days. Having loved and lost, I feel that there are no words to say really… I can only shake my head at the senselessness of it all, and paste a smile on my face as I try to think positive about this thing called life.
I think of Lisa ‘Left eye” Lopes as someone who had a troubled life - obviously I only know of her what I’ve read in the news, but that’s how i saw her… so to think of dying before you have the chance to truly enjoy life is really sad…
Luckily, I can say that I have led a truly priveleged life - not in terms of money, but in terms of the people who fill my life - i call them my treasures. I guess that’s what we have to think about - how much we, in our own little worlds, have to be grateful for.
C’est la vie!
Selah…
My dear Seven I am touched by your philosophical comment above. I can only agree with you and hope that I am considered one of your ‘treasures’. Of course, if you don’t hold me in such high esteem, you will be gracious enough to keep it to yourself and not hurt my feelings on this medium, your dear brother’s blog. At least wait ’till we see each other in person. On a more serious note, these sorts of incidents really should make us stop and contemplate the true meaning of our existence. Hence my philosophy is to enjoy life to its fullest as the good Lord can summon us at anytime and we know not when. Maybe this is a topic that I can talk about on my blog at a time to come soon. Take care Seven.
By the way MB, your blog is even better than the Gleaner as it is only today (27/04/02) that they have as their front page headline, “Student kills seven at German school.” Thanks for keeping me informed my yute!
Me and my big mouth, that should read, “Student kills seventeen at German school.” Not seven. So sorry my dear Seven, this was a true mistake on my part and I wasn’t playing around, please pardon me.
