Cricket, Lovely Cricket

I guess a bit of a Halloween spirit must have affected the West Indies openers. They seem to have been transformed from Dr. Jeckyl into Mr. Hyde! I woke up to find the situation being India 358, West Indies 173 - 1 in the first innings. Sarwan’s just off the mark with a comfortable single. I think now would be the perfect time for him to knock up his first century. I’m glad we’ve seen a bit of grit and stick-to-it-iveness from our openers for once though. Congratulations to Wavell Hinds on his century. Rally! Rally round the West Indies! Now and forever!

The Reggae Boyz were to have played a friendly with Guatemala yesterday, but I can’t find any info on the score of that match yet. What should I make of that, I wonder?

  1. Oops! Sarwan’s out! The wicket keeper stumped him! Mervyn Dillon is out as the night watchman.

  2. Uh oh!Mervyn is gone for a duck, bowled by Harbajan Singh! Is this the beginning of the rout?

  3. Guatemala? Oh god, no, not another country poised to rise above England in the rankings!

  4. Well, I don’t think they’re poised to do that at all, Gertie… See, we managed to draw the match with them 1-1, and Coach Carl Brown says we really weren’t playing well at all.

  5. Yeah, I’m getting my football and cricket mixed up. But I’m sure if Guatemala took up cricket they’d soon overtake England!
