Wowsa!

The Dancehall Queen, Junkyo

The concert was just what the doctor ordered. Nuff nuff eye candy, and not just for the men. Natty says that Sheggy was exclaiming over the fact that she saw so many “NEW, HERETOFORE UNDISCOVERED” good looking men “just walking up and down” that she was shocked! She just could not fathom that all these men are out and about in the island of Jamaica and she doesn’t know any of them!

Oh, and the vibe! The vibe was much more like that of a wicked session rather than what you might remember from attending concerts in the past. There were about 4000 people in the V.I.P. area, and about 12000 people overall. The price of entry got you drinks all night though you had to buy food. People were walking around and chatting to friends they hadn’t seen for awhile, drinking up a storm, ogling other people’s people, and watching the show. The place had a very mellow vibe. R.E. TV was there filming away and interviewing patrons and artists alike. It was cool.

Then the music! Grreeaaat!! I previously mentioned Shaggy, Junior Gong, and Sean Paul as taking the place by storm, well Wayne Marshall also did a great job. He called onstage the reigning Dancehall Queen (who for the first time in history is not a Jamaican, can you believe it? Shes Japanese! Once I saw her perform though, I could not doubt that she won the contest fair and square) Notice I didn’t mention Bounti Killa? He left me cold, iya! The only act that did that all night. Thats just me mind you. He did have his fans there.

I already mentioned Sean Paul’s girls, but I must also tell you that Shaggy also had his entourage of whirling dervishes, and they looked quite scruptious too. And the dance moves were “to die for”! I tell you, single men everywhere would be worried to take on ladies with their demonstrated energy, stamina and abandon .

All in all, a night to remember. I haven’t had such a blast in a long time!
