Some Things Are Just Obvious

The Red Stripe Mound (a spectator stand at Sabina Park) was a great experience, but even it had a “fly in the ointment”. Did I mention that there were a bunch of drunken S.O.B.s who were cat calling to every half decent looking woman that passed and generally making a public nuisance of themselves. So Brian Lara (rated as the number one or two batsman in the world) was in to bat and Muttiah Muralitharan (rated as one of the finest spin bowlers in the world) had just come in to bowl. The noisy penny section did not notice a thing. Their bhuttu (hooligan-ish) behavior continued unabated.

A mound maniac who was only half drunk observed “Bwoy, the finest batsman in the world is at the crease facing the finest spin bowler in the world and all we are here doing is drinking rum and chatting shit.”. The bhuttu to whom he made the observation replied “Well, Appleton is the finest rum in the world, so nothing is wrong if we go on drinking it and chatting shit…”.

The moral of the story? Even bhuttus know a good thing when they come across it.
