Cho Ra$$!
The Reggae BoyZ disappointed me BIG TIME last night! They played a wonderful first half, and started the second half okay, but trust me, it was all downhill from there.
We were two nil up by the 52nd minute of the match and soon after, Coach Carl Brown substituted the goalie, and it all went to hell. A lot of people who sat around me blamed the goalie, but I blame the team. The midfield and the defence played like shyte in the second half! They burned up my ticket money!
Unfortunately, this is getting to be a familiar feeling, what with how the West Indies Cricket Team is getting its butt kicked by the Barmy Army! (England)
I have to say that the most interesting thing about the match is that I got to shake the hand of the team mascot, ‘Tiger’. Hes such a character!
Another interesting point to note is that the Honduran’s coach is Bora Milutinovic!!! He is a big coach, you know! He has taken about four teams to the World Cup! It looks like the Hondurans are really trying to get there this time, huh?
I did get a couple of good jokes at the match… The referee was very litigious, you know, and at one time, a man sitting behind us was bemoaning this fact! “That referee a one eediat, to ra$$!”. Immediately, a lady sitting beside him said “He is from Trinidad.”, as if to say, “Well, what the hell do you expect?”
I’m not saying I agree with her, but I found it funny! At another time, right after Onandi Lowe squandered a sitter which was given to him in the six yard box, someone exclaimed “He missed that because he can only kick with his left foot, you know!”. A discussion ensued about some big footballers who were said to be one footed, and a man told us that he went to a match where such a ‘baller was playing, and after squandering a similar opportunity, a fan in the crowd began to heckle him. “Look at you, you call yourself a footballer and you only have your one left foot!”. He said that the player shouted back “Well, you show me a footballer with two, nuh?”
Anyway, Latah!
Yes, we share similar feelings my yute. Cho rass indeed!
