Richard Holds Down Shilpa
So the Indians are angry with Richard Gere. Poor Richard, he couldn’t help himself. He and Shilpa Shetty were doing a benefit together, it was to raise awareness of HIV in India, when Gere became overcome. Being that close to so much beauty was too much for him and so he grabbed hold of Shilpa and showered her with kisses!
Heh heh heyyyy!
The link above is to a movie clip of the event at Yahoo. You have to wait while some woman chats to you briefly…
I have always liked Richard Gere, you know. Yeh man. He is a man after my own heart. Who knows when you will have that much beauty at arms length again? Carpe Diem! Sieze the day. Mek di Indians vex if dem wah vex, you go for what you want, y’hear star!
After all, see how Shilpa is defending him! She loved his attentions, man! Hmph… Those Indians lucky! Suppose it was Shilpa and I that were doing the benefit together… Doh laugh! It could happen! I am famous! You never know?! Cho, man!
Anyway, just suppose that it were Shilpa and I doing the benefit! You think that I would have just kissed Shilpa all over her cheek? No rasta! From I decide that I am going to steal some kisses, teeth and tongue wouldah haffi buss!
In for a penny, in for a pound, man! I would have put it on pon her Adrien-Brody-style! You remember when he grabbed up Halle Berry at the Academy Awards? Heh Heyyyy!!!! Dem woulda haffi kill me!
They burning effigies of poor Richard,
I guess you have to visit India to realise just how conservative the society is. When I visited in Feb I packed my batty shorts and tank tops, thinking I was going to treat myself to a tan. Only to find that even at home I felt uncomfortable wearing them. Despite all the kama sutra hype, Indians feel that sexuality and displays there of are better kept indoors.
all i have to say is that effagies are the way to go (coming to a blog near you sometime soon)
saw that on the media this morning. Never knew that public display of affection was a no-no inINdia..but whalooss ghi de man a break.
haha..poor richard better read up on the people rules and customs
nobody burnt that skinny fellow in effigy when he kissed halle berry on the lips after accepting his oscar. Why didn’t Al Sharpton say something about that?

I know–I’m getting off topic. But nobody got mad at Julia Roberts for being all over Denzel Washington (nobody but me that is). Perhaps Americans especially African Americans should be drawing some heavier lines about all this kissing business–take a cue from India.
