Stronger, Better, Faster, Longer!
Whats up, my peeps? I have not had much of a weekend so far. Friday I went to work at the normal time but I didn’t leave until about 10:30 PM! Saturday, I had to go in at 11:00 AM and I didn’t leave until 8:30 PM. We have been putting a new software module into production, and at the same time running our usual end of month run. Busy, busy, busy!
The fact that I have been working so hard makes today stressful, because I want to enjoy today to the fullest and so I am racking my brains to come up with the best things to do. So far I have upgraded my site to Wordpress Version 2.3, I have upgraded one of my plugins, I have changed my Wordpress Theme to “Blueblog“, and now I am writing a post. Later, I will have to have some “outside” fun! The beach sounds good right now, we’ll see…
Anyway, at least I will get back the time. Since I don’t get overtime, thats the way I get paid back. I can get the time back when I want it, so now I have a decision to make. When exactly will it be most advantageous to take off a couple of days. Right now I am thinking of Friday coming for the first day. Can anyone say “Long weekend!”
But how best to spend that long weekend? I know, I think I will visit whichever of my family members sends me a ticket, whether that be Mamacita or Seven, Piet or Ciya! Brother and sisters, Mom, are you listening?! Its going to be like a competition too! You all can race to see who can get their ticket to me fastest! In the event that the tickets all arrive near the same time, then you can make your offer more attractive by offering me spending money!
WAIT!
That was a brilliant idea! You know what, the spending money has to be a part of your offer! You’ll have to choose some other way to sweeten the pot if the tickets all arrive at the same time. So y’all, get right on it! You know you want me to come visit you! The clock has started, the competition has begun! You can go search up the tickets online starting NOW!
Oh well, I can dream, can’t I? I guess I will just spend the weekend chillin’ right here at my yard!
So, what else do I have to tell you? Well, I watched three movies recently, one is showing now, one is just out on DVD and the other has been around for a bit on DVD. They were pretty good! I took MBJr. to see this movie called “Stardust“. It was a real “magical, mystical, fantasy” type of film, and it was good! It certainly takes your mind off reality for a couple of hours. Really nice little movie, I recommend it, and you don’t have to be a kid to enjoy it! The only thing I didn’t like so much was… click link below to continue reading, folks!
The only thing I didn’t like so much was the little gay undertones with the sky-pirate captain. It didn’t really bother me but I thought to myself, “Do they have to put that sort of stuff into every movie you might carry your kids to?”. This is the first time that MBJr. has picked up on this stuff in a movie, incidentally. There is a cross dressing scene and when he saw that he rolled his eyes and commented that the captain was “wierd!”. Anyway, the movie was thoroughly enjoyable and as I said, I recommend it!

Carice Van Houten - The Black Book
The second movie that I watched was called “Black Book“. This was a story about a jewess and her trials during World War II. Excellent show, though it was all in some foreign language, probably Dutch since the female lead hails from the Netherlands. I had to watch sub titles. Or maybe for some reason my DVD player malfunctioned and instead of watching it in English, I saw the foreign language version or something… don’t let that put you off the movie though, it was excellent. The star, Carice Van Houten, was quite pretty too! You know how I asked the question recently, “Do blondes really have more fun?“, well, she really looked nicer as a blonde, though she was also quite nice to look at as a brunette! It goes both ways though, I have also seen women I prefer as brunettes.
The third movie I saw was Children of Men. This show got an excellent rating on the Rotten Tomatoes website, (click pon de link above to see how much) and a guy I work with told me it was the best movie he had seen all year. It was a good film, but I never really enjoyed it. I don’t know if I was dense or what, but too many things were too vague… what were the terrorists fighting for, really? Who were the people behind “The Human Project” and what did they really stand for? How did humans come to stop having children? I mean, was it some mental condition, or radiation poisoning or what? Wierd!
Then on top of all that, the film was kind of depressing! Still, it was a good film. Watch it if you want to… if you like films that generally paint grim pictures of the future and ask questions like “Where is the human race heading?”, then you’ll probably like it.
Anyway, thats all for now, folks… Take it easy, and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Huh? Whats that? Oh, you are wondering what the title of the post has to do with the post’s content? Ok. Well, its like this. The Miss Cayman Beauty Pageant finals were held last night. I didn’t go. What? Why are you surprised? I never go to these things! Thats a waste of money! After all, I don’t know any of the ladies, and I can see pretty women right here in my yard, and almost anywhere in Cayman, so why pay 30 bucks to lgo look at eight of them for a couple of hours… plus, I will eventually find out who won anyway, and I will get the pictures and maybe even the video online!
Anyway, I was interested to find out who won, so I went to Z99’s website to listen to the radio to see if they would mention who won. So far they haven’t said a word, but I haven’t changed to a different station because the “Z” has been laying down some nice tracks! ![]()
Anyway, when I went to the Z99 Music Player site, the first song I heard was Kanye West’s “Stronger, Better, Faster, Longer!” song. I quite like it. I even like the name of the song, so I lifted it and am using it as the posts’ title. Thats all there is to that. Hey, big up to Kanye West, he sure has kicked Fifty Cent’s butt all over the place, hasn’t he?
Peace and love, enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Wow wow! ![]()
the only thing that sucks about new themes.. is the fact that i gotta enter my info over again.. but nice theme tho.
me likey
nice new theme, I recently changed mine as well
ooohhhhh, so this is the site weh u publish on regularly….u had ma poor head confused for a while there enuh…that kanye song…i trying to make it into my motto yah now but it seem i too damn lazy
Like the new theme. Very clean. MBJr’s gay senses are tingling. I haven’t seen any of those movies you spoke of.
I prefer the old theme. I thought I had hit the incorrect link when I saw the blue.
Sounds like the job is going keep you busy!
Should keep you out of trouble
Actually, I like the banner section of this theme but I don’t love the rest of it. This is a stopgap theme. I preferred my old theme, but when I upgraded, the theme stopped working. When I get it fixed I will go back to it or I may move on to another, hotter one.
@ Leon : They are all good. The all got 75% and over on the Tomatometer. Check them out.
Mystery Man : Why do you think I need something to keep me out of trouble?
I actually like the new look - go figure!!! It has a clean, strong feel that appeals to me - but who cares what I think?
Anyways - just wanted to share that we went to see “Eastern Promises” on Friday - that new movie starring Viggo Mortensen, who was also in “History of Violence” - both shared same director also!!!
It was excellent!!! Violent- had a few ‘turn your head away’ moments - but really excellent!!! Highly recommend it!
I, too, saw “Children of Men”, and was baffled by the hype it had, because I really thought it was… completely unengaging, hard to follow and therefore, I quickly lost interest!
I really like Clive Owen and had looked forward to seeing it, but can’t tell if the problem was that they tried to fit too much in to properly explain/depict the plot, they made it over-complicated, or it was just a stupid movie…
Another movie I saw recently that was for the dogs was “Premonition” with Sandra Bullock!!! Oh my gosh - that movie gave me a headache - Midas and I spent the entire movie turning to ask each other ‘What’s going on?’ What a waste of time!!!!!!!!!
Movies I’m looking forward to are:
“American Gangster” with Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe.
“Rendition” with Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhall
Can’t think of any others right now - but movies do RULE!!! Great past-time…
Did you go to the beach today?
I took the day off, in my new oceanfront pad, planning to spend a day at the beach in Florida for the first time in the 7 years I’ve been living here - but the weather was like a hurricane!!!
Pouring rain on and off, and an all-day wind that was really like a hurricane. In the late evening, I sat briefly on my balcony and watched a scary scene of a small powerboat trying to turn around before going out into the ocean right by the Haulover inlet, to go back to the waters of the Intracoastal!
The water and wind were so rough, I sat in awe, watching that boat in fear that it was going to flip right over.
Anyways - hope you all have a wonderful week!!!!!!
wait seems like you catching up to me man. Most of the daft punk fans says that kanye mess up the song, but the lyrics mad. There is also a remix by 30 seconds to mars that is slower, sader and more serious but just as good.
wow another new theme, different from what I saw this morning
Yeah, Jamaipanese, I preferred this one.
I will check that one out, Sir Owen.
Seven, I will have to check out those movies. I agree with you that the “Children of Men” movie was hard to follow. By the way, have you found a ticket for me yet?
Irie Diva, yup, this is the mother lode!
BTW, ladeez and Gentlemen, I give you Rebecca Parchment, Miss Cayman Islands 2007! Well, she was in my top three, so I am not doing too badly. When I get more info on second and third place, I will let you know.
Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog. You’ve got a really great site. Looking forward to read more of your stories.
I haven’t seen Stardust yet, but it looks really interesting, sort of like a Lord-of-the-Rings thing going on. Not quite, but you get what I mean.
I like the new look
