Whats Left?
So MBJr. is watching Shrek 3 on Pay Per View, Natty is on the VOIP phone talking to her Mom in Tampa and I am sitting in front of the computer listening to Hot 104.1 FM online. As I listen to the soca music pouring forth, I muse to myself, “Well… the “Earth’s Children” novels dem done get read already… the “Lost, Season Three” DVDs done get watched… the night of damsels, drinking, dinner, dancing and drunken debauchery is sadly past… (Christmas dinner at one of Natty’s friends, tons of liquor, food and nice chat)
What’s left? It come in like Christmas done, to rass! I mean, no, we aren’t back at work yet, (give thanks for Boxing Day still), but its all over except for the shouting… I mean, yeah, there is the weekend coming up in a couple of days, but I don’t have anything lined up for that yet, and yeah, there is New Year’s Eve ahead of us, and apparently there is a boom session over here in Cayman called “Clock Strikes” to go to, but to tell you the truth, I am NOT feeling like partying this New Year’s Eve.
The major drawing card they have at this session (for me anyway) is that they are supposed have this band from Jamaica called “Rootz Underground” there, and the band is supposedly quite good. See a mention of the band here on the Jamaica Observer’s website. They actually say that the band “has been described as the best band to come out of Jamaica since Morgan Heritage.”. That is big praise indeed, only, can one say that Morgan Heritage really came “out of Jamaica”? Hmmm….
Anyway, I have heard of Rootz Underground before (and have even heard some of their music, ’cause I just went to their website) and would like to see them play, but unfortunately they will only be at “Clock Strikes”, which is KY$100 for entry, and we don’t have a babysitter so Natty would have to stay home with MBJr., and basically, I feel that bad man shouldn’t go out on New Year’s Eve without him woman, so its highly unlikely that I will see them.
Still, I not just giving up so! I will have to hatch a plan that will keep the Christmas-sy, “good feeling” vibes with us for a little longer. Let me turn my mind to that now…
If I only had Boxing Day. I tell ya! At least for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve I finish work at 2pm and get paid for a full work day
…But then again, I’m salaried so it doesn’t matter. Cho!
LOL @ Bad man nuh fi go out widout him woman NYE. Ah choo.
At least be glad you got Boxing Day. That is a working day here in the U.S of A. I’m thinking of starting a bill to make it a national holiday like it is in Europe, Canada, Australia and damn near every other place.
Hope you had a great Christmas.
Well I knew you’d have fun. You always know how to have a good time. My Christmas was just work, work, work.
hey MadBull
now is a great time to go through your stuff and find things that are still usable that you can donate to the less fortunate or to a charitable organization. You’ll continue to enjoy that Christmassy feeling.
Happy New Year
That VOIP phone is a great idea, I have on that I use to call my family and friends in the US. Sounds like it was a fun time at Natty’s friends dinner!
@ Stunner - yeh, it was nice.
@ GC - I will give it some thought, though right now, I feel like I should be benefitting from a charitable organisation myself!
@ Leon, whaddaya mean, work? What have you been hiding from us?
