Miss Earth Jamaica Selected.
I just read that they have selected a young lady to represent Jamaica in the Miss Earth Pageant. Her name is Simone Burke. I got the impression from reading the story that she was selected in a manner which lacked transparency from the newspaper article, but it would appear that they have made a decent selection still. Click through to the newspaper article if you want to see a photo of her as she appeared onstage posing after winning the pageant. Its not a good picture though, much too small! So, she looks nice and she is brainy, I guess, because she was a head girl at Immaculate High School, and they only put brainy girls in that position, so what more dem wah? Oh, I know! She prolly not dark enough! Right, right…. 
I say “Congrats to her!”. Good luck to her still, despite the complaints from the penny section. I also implore the Gleaner to put up bigger photos of beauty queens online in the future (Eediats! 
) and I hope the organisers of this pageant will work hard to get out more info on their pageant in future. TTYL.

A couple of people at work say they thunk that the girl on the right in the second picture is her, not the girl on the left. What the rest of you think?
its true after rigourous research I have come to the conclusion that she is in fact the other girl. the eye brows should have tipped it off. she looks better with her mouth closed.

This miserable earth pageant is just a waste of money and time - particularly our time. For the last time MB, beauty pageants are basically cattle parades. This one most glaringly fits that category; they didn’t even try to justify the sheggery — no criteria? since she is head girl THEREFORE she can be beauty queen? Head Girls everywhere should hang their heads in shame at the way their status has been belittled by this entertainment sham. But watch di eediyat jamaican dem a go hail up “Miss Earth!”

What a bunch of nonsense. Seems as if they whip up a pageant for everything conceivable, and people jump to enter like flies.
BTW - From a reputable source, think they were trying to get “Miss Earth” in Cayman as well, but the franchise did not work out. Heard that it may be the third ranking pageant: Miss Universe, Miss World and the Miss Earth
…after which is Miss Country…Miss Town…??
I wonder if the bottom picture will cause an eruption that will make here lose her crown. Like a sex scandal pic or something.
