Big Up Jamaica, 1, 2, 3!
Well, I took much longer after the fact to post about the Women’s 100 Metre Final than the Mens. No disrespect though… I barely woke up in time for the race as Natty and I stayed up late watching a movie.
When I did eventually roll out of bed, I grabbed a grilled cheese sandwich lovingly prepared by Natty and I stumbled back into the bedroom and turned the TV to the channel showing the Olympic coverage. As soon as I got there, they announced that there were only six minutes left to the final. “Rass, I missed all the heats!”, I thought. “At least I caught the final!”.
In two twos, the runners came out and started their stretching, all the while surveying the track and putting their minds in focus and their game faces on. Next thing, they were under starter’s orders and BANG, they were off! It was an irie race! Sherone Simpson seemed to have been the favourite for the event, but it looked like she got off to a bad start.
Shellyann Fraser started out neck and neck with Kerron Stewart instead, then she took the lead and she powered away, making certain she never relinquished it. Sherone Simpson did try to make up for her bad start and so she did, moving from what looked like a joint last position to end up nodding Kerron out of second place! A fine run, and a fine race overall. Jamaicans will feel triply sweet about this race as Jamaica came away with the first, second and third place in the race. Apparently its the first time that the three top positions have all been taken by one country!
Yes, mi bredrins I felt really sweet about this accomplishment by Shelly Ann, Sherone and Kerron but I couldn’t stop to blog about it immediately, as right after the race, I had to dress and go to drop Jay G to the airport!
You see, Jay G. brought MBJr. back from Tampa on Thursday and he chillaxed with us for a couple of days, but he has work in the AM, and so he had to return home today. Its too bad he wasn’t able to stay for longer, we will miss him! 
Thanks go out to Macy, Jay G. and Daddy G. for taking such good care of the young Bull and ensuring that he had quite possibly the best summer vacation ever!
Also, a great Big Up goes out to our three fastest women in the world, Shelly Ann Fraser, Sherone Simpson, and Kerron Stewart! Oonoo did do us proud! Go Shelly Ann! Go Jamaica! Go, Caribbean!

This was totally unexpected,but when I look back at the last other Olympic where stars were born in the finals we should be too surprised.

Anyone else seen any official reports of what has been released in Jamaica that it was one, two, two? Apparently, due to the photo finish between Stewart and Simpson they are giving each of them silver medals? At least that’s what they heard at home? So its not “one, two, three” – everybody ah talk bout “One, two, two”

i think you have kerron stewart and sherone mixed up in the start of your post here, kerron was the one who had the bad start and had to come from behind.
