Bling Girl & Miss Coco Cola Bottle Shape

What a gwaan, my crew? I am at home chillin’ today. Since I worked on Saturday, I get a day off and I decided to take it today, because Simba had a vet’s appointment at 10:45am. Yeah, I did take a day off just for the dog! Whats wrong with that? Here is a picture of two of my babies and I. I was taking them for a walk. Aren’t they sweet?

Whats up with the baseball bat, you ask? Well, first of all, thats not the only weapon we had on us… Look at the pocket on my shorts… bulging with stones, I tell you! Also, behind my back, I had a length of PVC pipe in my hand. When we go walking, we are always loaded for bear… or in this case, for “Lion”.

“Lion” is an Akita-mix that lives along the road we walk down. A few days before this picture was taken, “Lion” had launched an unprovoked attack on Simba. We were all surprised, and because Lion got in between myself and MBJr. for a bit, and because he was behaving in an agitated way (though I don’t think he would trouble MBJr.), it was pretty scary for MBJr.

The only way I could get him to walk with Simba and I again was to let him take that bat along, plus stones in his pocket and in mine. I have flung a couple of stones after “Lion” since, and even hit him once. He doen’t bother us much anymore, but just in case he does, we ready! We be strapped, you zimi!

Anyway, Simba was at the vet earlier because he got his cornea scratched the other day (not in that fight with “Lion”) and today he was getting a recheck. Unfortunately his eye isn’t completely healed as yet and so the vet says she wants to see Simba again next week Friday. There is no cost for the recheck, but its a headache to get him there, you know? I don’t live so close to George Town, so I have to leave work, drive home and get him, drop him back home and then go back to work. Something tells me I will be applying for the afternoon off next Friday, mang!

Actually, now that I think about it, I am off three other days next week, so maybe that won’t fly. Maybe I will have to do a walk-in visit next Saturday instead and jam up with the hordes of people who put off taking their pets in to the vet until the weekend. It will probably take the entire morning, but I may see some interesting “animals” while I’m there, you know?! Thats what happened last time, anyway.
