We have descended from a proud and fearless group of West Africans and we need no help in stirring up aggression.

But I think another issue is the lack of parenting…children are having children and many who are not children are just not sound parents. They do not themselves censor for their children so society has to step in.

I am frankly frustrated with the degeneration of dancehall… I love the genre but can somebody talk about something other than homosexuality?

Having said all that, I openly declare an interest in the Rompin Shop song,… though I only heard the ‘clean’ version. I heard it at at wedding in Jamaica in January mind you. The partner was there. And wine was made to bruk. But that was an adult gathering of 20nuff to 30 somethings (and older).

The bottom line is APPROPRIATENESS!

Children do not know how to behave like children because adults think that they are cute when the act out “force ripe” behaviour!

I read the article about chris brown, although its wrong to choke her, when i really look at it from the other side of the coin; If I had a brand new lamborghini I spent couple hundred thousands on, and somebody take my keys and toss it out the window were i cant find them, I’d wanna choke the crap out of them too. But at the same time, they can afford to just get the keys replaced and the locks changed.

My position on the matter is very much like your own. To be clear, I think that the “artists” should be able to write, record and perform (in appropriate venues) any lyrics they choose.

However, public over the air broadcasts are not an appropriate or acceptable venue for explicit lyrics. So, radio should be out. Likewise, pounding systems that can be easily heard for miles around are equally unacceptable venues. This should have been banned a very long time ago. Frankly, I thought they were already banned and that simple governmental slackness was impeding enforcement.

But, I’d like to point out that the ban should be against explicit lyrics. That means more than just raunchy sexual content. Explicit lyrics would most definitely include graphic depictions of violence, illegal activities and sexual content. Most places have these decency laws and references to slitting the throats of policemen qualifies as indecent in most places.

Chris Brown will certainly get what he deserves. He will almost certainly get jail time for his actions and, when inside, di bredda a go deal wid im.
