The Mad Bull’s Blog, Version 3

1) The state of the nation.

So much shit is going on over here in the Cayman Islands right now! Its getting crazy, man! Murders / shootings, burglaries, etc. are skyrocketing! The worst one recently was a man getting shot in a nite club while it was open! Can you imagine?

This is a club that Natty and I have gone to and one to which we would go back!

The police arrested a guy for it, but they said recently that they would have to let him go! There were 150 people in the place at the time the shooting happened! The club has cameras in it! and yet, no-one saw anything! The cameras didn’t pick things up clearly enough to identify anyone! Wow!

Then there have been a spate of muggings recently, and robberies where the robbers brandished guns. Most of the robberies have been of business places. One of those was a daring daylight attack on the office of QuikCash, a money transfer company which has an office less than three minute’s walk from where I work! There has been at least one home invasion as well. The home owner’s were there and someone got gun butted.

Who would have thought that these things would be happening in the Cayman Islands! Coming from Jamaica, you would think I wouldn’t be worried, but since the place is so small, I think that the chances that I might be somewhere and some shit goes down while I am there may actually be higher here than in Jamaica!

2) The gym.

I only went two times last week, so I had wanted to get my butt in gear and get down there today! I should have gone earlier, but didn’t, so the chances of my making it there today are slim, since M’Buthelezi said she wanted to visit us after midday today… (* sigh *)

3) This blog.

As I just said on Facebook, I really need to put up or shut up, i.e. post something or just blow the blog away 4ever! Why waste money paying my hosting provider to keep my blog site going if I am not using the damned thing, know what I mean?

4) My plants.

A number of them are just dying! I am wondering if it is a problem with how much I am watering them, i.e. not watering some often enough and over watering some. For those that are in pots still, is it that they need repotting, or actually planting in the ground? And for those that are in the ground, is it the watering, or is t some kind of bug or disease attacking them. Plants are so complex, or at least, that is what I am finding.

Some of the plants are more important to me than others, of course. As you would perhaps guess, its the ones that are important to me that are dying. Those I don’t care much about ar e going on really strongly! (* sigh *)

5) Getting a U.S. visa.

I don’t need one to go to the U.S. anymore, because Caymanians can get a “waiver” to go to the U.S. Its much easier to get, and they treat me so much better than when I proffer my Jamaican passport with the U.S visa in it, but I need one for work purposes. With a “waiver”, you have to be coming from the Cayman Islands when you go to the U.S. If my job sent me to somewhere that you had to land in the U.S. on the way back to Cayman, then I wouldn’t be able to do that, and since that is most likely going to be the situation if I fly on business, I need a U.S. visa. Cho! So much botheration to get the damned thing!

6) Bills.

Don’t think I have to explain this one.

7) Getting a bicycle.

Am getting tired of walking the dog. Plan to run him beside the bike. Problem is, should I buy the bike this month or pay down another couple hundred on my credit card balance? Hmmm…. responsibility, or fun? Which will it be?

9) Vacation days.

I have about 7 days unaccounted for and need to figure out when is best to use them, and what they would best be used for. Should I take Wednesday off just to chill, for instance? Why Wednesday, you ask? Well, when I stay home, I like to have the time all to myself. Wednesday, the helper doesn’t come till 3:00pm, so thats the best day if I want to just chillax… no, she doesn’t bother me really, but she keeps wanting me to leave rooms as she tidies them, and she gets phone calls and chats kind of loudly on them, and stuff like that.

10) What’s for dinner?

I bet Natty is going to bake a chicken.

You know what? Its getting late! I will add to this list later, if more stuff comes to mind. Right now, I am going to go water the plants that I think need more water than the others, then I’m going to try to slot in some gym time. TTYL.
