The Boring Minuatiae of My Life

Hullo. I changed my Desktop background in Windows again. Yeah, I got up really early, maybe 3:30am or something and Facebook was boring at that time, and I didn’t have anything to do, and so, in my state of idleness, my background picture caught my attention and I though to myself, “It REALLY is time for that picture to go, you know!”.

The picture above is my new background. It is a picture of the waterfront in George Town, Grand Cayman. It was taken from the roof of the parking garage at my office, which is somewhere between seven or eight floors up. (Yeah, I know that is nothing big in some people’s books, but in Cayman, that is pretty high up!) The picture was taken at about 5:30 pm.

I know that picture is not much of a big deal, but for some reason, I like it. Some of the places shown in the picture are the Bayside Mall (a mall in name only), the Hard Rock Cafe, that store / restaurant that I think is owned by Guy Harvey, and the Atlantis Sub office.

I changed my background because…

I changed my background because… I got a bit bored with the last background, mostly because I took it with my personal cell phone and the camera in that DOES NOT rock.

I was actually taking the picture to post on the ‘Net so y’all could see what Spotts Beach looked like, and I decided I would get some people in the shot as well. The picture was not a good representation of what I saw. It was not as bright as it should have been. Indeed it ended up looking sort of wishy-washy. Still, I liked the picture and so it made my background.

It was taken at Spotts Beach at about 4:30 or 5:00pm. The woman lying on the beach is an attractive woman in her middle to late 30’s who I always see around in town and in the shopping / entertainment areas. Whenever I see her, she smiles at me and nods. I guess maybe I met her somewhere or she likes what she sees and is being inviting or something. Personally, I think its the second option, because I would have remembered meeting her unless I was hammered when we met.

The man walking on the beach is her man. He saw me taking the picture and got a bit concerned, poor thing. I don’t know what he thought my camera caught. He obviously doesn’t know how poor my camera is.

Anyway, the picture has been up as my desktop background for awhile and I am bored with it and its wishy-washy-ness and so its gone!

Huh? Why was I up so early? No big reason. No, you see, I went to bed really early (by my standards), and so I woke up early. I probably got the same amount of sleep I usually get , which is somewhere between 5 - 6 hours. I really should have gone back to bed, but I thought it was about 5:30am for some reason, and by the time I realised what the real time was, I was wide awake! Yeah, that sux, I know.

Anyway, I used the time constructively, surfing porn watching a few episodes of Californication Season 1, playing some BrickBreaker, listening to an alternative rock channel online and writing this blog post.

Anyway, thats enough for now. Until the next installment, peace.
